The Philadelphia Eagles today announced TE L.J. Smith underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair a sports hernia. The procecure was performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia.

I had to say a word about the Duke Lacrosse team. I don't think there's a bigger sports story this year. Imagine a team which was nonexistent four months ago in position to play for a national title.
