Those around the Philadelphia Eagles organization know that Christina Lurie, the wife of owner Jeffrey Lurie, is very involved in the business of the Eagles. In part four of an eight-part series, Ashley Fox of the Philadelphia Inquirer notes that she cares about the team very much and is involved in many details including the logo, stadium design, practice facilities and cheerleader uniforms to name a few.
But it was made clear that in the 17 years that the Lurie’s have owned the Birds, she is never involved in the actual football side of things.
Except one time.
In 17 years, the first time she’s had a say was in the signing of Michael Vick. Christina cares very much about the community and how the Eagles are portrayed in said community. And this football decision had very serious social ramifications.
So, one could surmise that if she had a say in the team bringing him in, that maybe she has a lot of clout when it comes to the team kicking him to the curb if/when that time were to come.
