  1. Seems about right except I dont think Andrews gets released. Even if he isnt starting he would be a decent backup and not worth releasing to free a roster space for a younger guy with upside. And although I wish Hanson was traded after seeing how useless he was playing the deep ball, I cant see him going anywhere.

  2. How about getting Nyjer Morgan from the Nationals to be a FB? He sure can charge defenseless catchers..Short yardage situations?..Waddya think?

  3. Update from PAulman

I wrote this in the beggining of week before I was aware of Stacey Andrews Contract status of
getting $5 Million whether he makes it or not.. So chances are he makes the Roster and
probably G F Topou does not from my list..
Still thinking there is a trade that will happen with the Ravens come Friday
Maybe a combo of either a CB Hanson or CB/S M Harris and OT K Dunlap for disgruntled
    OT J Gaither…

  4. I think the Ravens picked up a CB so Hanson will stick. Jorrik is outta here. Andrews gets another year to stink. I also think Baskett sticks instead of Washington.

  5. A sigh of relief comes over the Delaware Valley…Paulmandomis has predicted the roster.

  6. To Eagles,
I did read where Ravens picked-up a CB, remember that S E Reed will miss some time too,so they
may have an interest in a Macho Harris
CB J Calvin will most likley be a Practice Squad player

  7. Daniel Teo-Nesheim, isnt he done for the season placed on ir?

  8. Good stuff paulman. You really think Fokou gets released though?

  9. Paulmandomis…N.C. storm tracker…did you get the mower in the shed…baton down the hatchs? Be safe Birdbrain.

    Teonesheimamamnoaaa? That guys hurt?

J-MAC….Niger Morgan suspended?Dude laid a nice left on the pitcher…then his buddy tried too clothes line him and took the pitchers elbow to the face. What a scrum! That dude lacks class. The plate was open and he kills the catcher, ends his season.

  10. To Dawkplex,
That’s R Sapp who was injured and placed on IR and done for the Season
Teo’ Neishiam is good to go and will make the squad and be used as a Situational pass-rusher from the DT position (simliar to how D Howard was used) and be a Special Teamer

    To Keep 5
I think it’s between Fokou,White & Cheney ( I would prefer they keep Fokou & White) and place Cheney on practice squad, but I think they really like Cheney’s upside and it appears the Fokou has fallen out of favor with the coaching staff after about the 1st week of camp this year..He continues to make lots of mental mistakes and has been brutal on Specail Teams Units so far which T White probably excels in the most..

    To Erock,
I live in Boone,NC which is about 350 miles inland (west) from the Carolina Coastal/Outer Banks Region and we are approx 3,500 Feet above Sea Level located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, so it’s not too often that any storms make it up this high or inland that come into form the Coastal Region..
Hurricain Hugo from 1989 was an exception and did damage from Charleston,Sc all the way up
    to West Virginia/Kentucky..

Thank and all have a safe and great Labor Day weekend

  11. Paul, As nice as it is to dream, predicting a specific player to get traded (let alone picking the team he’ll get traded to) is a huge reach. Hanson will make the team. Calvin will not.

You already corrected yourself in the comments on R Sapp and S Andrews, so I’ll leave that alone, but I do think Fokou still has a chance.

Despite his stupid penalties, I think he may beat out Chaney, who ends up on the practice squad before making the team next year. I see Fokou as a Matt McCoy. Physical player who apparently has a nack of drawing unwanted attention from the refs.

With a few exceptions, I see this playing out really similar to how you’re predicting.

  12. Aight Mountain Jack…be cool.

  13. >sniff< we'll miss you Chad Hall…

  14. whats the buzz about who makes the roster i have never cared about that ever
like who cares about 3rd and 4th stringers i dont know must be me
who cares if hank baskett makes it or washington
o man if baskett makes it we r in the chip lol its obselete who cares maybe kendra i dont

  15. Guys, isn’t there a limit to IR players? I’m saying because I think it’s 2 – each team can only place 2 guys on IR per season – I could be completely wrong but that’s what I remember. If that so, and Sapp is already 1, do they put Abiamirri there? I think so, in which case, there’s nobody to ‘stash’ there. Sure, if they just cut Abiamiri, that’s different. But then there’s Ingram, who knows what they do there.

  16. Also, Paulman, when is the last time the Eagles used a blocking Tight End. I’d say it was Mike Bartrum. That’s not a position on this football team. They carried 2 TEs last year and barely used Smith at all. I think they only keep 2 TEs, unless Ingram is only on the PUP list. Because they really don’t use the 3rd. With the RBs ad TEs lining up at WR at times, the pass heavy offense, and 3/4/5 WR sets, plus even Kolb out wide for some Vick plays, I just don’t see the room for a 3rd TE. I especially don’t think they have a 3rd just to fill the usual formula of 3 TEs…. last year is proof of that.

  17. I do believe the Eagles will make a few moves over the weekend to solidfy
a couple of spots after cutdowns…
#1) They need to get an experienced blocking TE to help out Celek
#2) They will entertain bringing in another Quality RB who can handle some return duties also

3-4 players on Eagles Roster that could be used as trade material and that would return some value
in filling a need should an injury occur elsewhere or to address the needs listed above
#1) DT M Patterson (DT is probably the deepest position on the team and could promote J Owens)
#2) LB O Gaither (Quality Back-up on Eagle who could start for a few teams that have a need at LB)
#3) CB J Hanson (Quality back-up/Nickle back who could play more on team with need)
#4) S Q Demps (Teams looking for that 3rd Safety, good in return game)

  18. Forgot to add

#5) WR K Washington (Big Receiver who plays Special Teams)

So don’t be surprised if one oor 2 these players make the roster, but end up being moved
    in a deal afterwards..

  19. If Calvin shows any sign of being a decent PR and KR, he is a lock.

  20. Pman – the first three of those are utterly ridiculous. If you told Andy, Howie, or anyone on the FO those things, they’d laugh in your face. You are the only one low on Patterson. Gaither is the most capable backup and the only one that knows the D other than Tracey White, and Hanson is not nearly as ‘in the dog house’ as a few fans make him out to be. Give me one reason why THE TEAM (not you) would be willing to part ways with those guys. You can’t because there’s nothing. It’s just your wish list. And again, when was the last time the Eagles had a blocking TE? Alex Smith and Matt Schoebel were both pass catching TEs – not blocking. LJ smith – not a blocker. Ingram, not a blocker. Harbor not a blocker. The blocking TE exists on the Eagles team just as much as the goalie, right wing, shortstop and power forward do.

  21. Schiller-LJ Smith couldn’t block or catch. Chad Lewis could block a bit.

  22. 3 Reasons Schiller

#1) Patterson plays DT which happens to be the strongest positon depth wise on Defense.
If you take account that the Eagles plan on using Tapp & Teo as DT’s on passing downs, Patterson is only 2 Down DT in my eyes and the defense does not miss much without him and could utilize DIxon and Laws with little drop off if any in my eyes.
#2) Gaither is here on a 1 year deal and this will be his final season as an Eagles for he wants
a chance to start which won’t happen with the Eagles.. He could compete to start some teams who are desperate for ILB help like the Browns,Broncos & Rams and would return probably a 4th Rd pick in return.. HE is not the Special Teams player he was a couple years back, If I could get a 4th Rd in return for a back-up player, I would take it in a heartbeat and have Cheney as the back-up to Bradley.
#3) J Hanson saigned a nice contract 2 years back and has not lived up to it and appears to regress a little bit each season, he’s a good Nickle back and lots of teams would have an interest in him and the Eagles could use D Patterson/Lindley in his place with little or no drop off… (again, this is another player who probably wont be an Eagle in 2011 so get something while you can)

  23. Who cares?

    5-11

  24. not a bad roster but i am sure there will be a couple surprises once everyone releases and cuts down

  25. Man..I seen Mr Bow tie with the Bengals and it’s hard to believe he looked better than anything we’ve ben strutting out at the linebackers position.

Is this the place where Linebackers come to die?

Is it me or have we had a problem getting a good linebacking corp together since Ray Rhodes backers that Reid inherited? Caldwell was a Rhodes pick up who so happen to have won a Superbowl with the “G” men…haven’t been able to cover a tight end since he been gone…Bradley will never be Trot in his prime who was another holdover from Rhodes. How many linebackers we were promised would workout since Rhode’s guys? Spikes was a good pick up but we know this organization got him on the cheap coming off an injury, and after he proved he was back they let him go fearing they would have to actually pay him his worth. Do anyone know how many picks was wasted between the 2nd and 4th rounds on linebackers? Paul Man…maybe you can help us with this.

  26. I believe “The Turk” needs to pay AR a visit as well.

  27. I agree Songs..
LB just fail in the gap Defense that JJ has run and now McDermott runs
Even WIlheim a back-up fror the 49ers looked great in his last 2 games and he couldn’t even make the roster last year… I honestly believe its;’s the Coaches (B Shuey is like another R Segrest) and go back with AR for years and there has been little accountability with either of these friends/coaches for most teams would have probably been replaced )
