The Philadelphia Phillies got some good news today as they prepare to take on the Washington Nationals. As it is, the Phillies pitching was going to be too much for a Nationals team that really isn’t very good (and I’m being nice).
So, it’s good to see that the Natties will be without arguably their best player for the series, as 3B Ryan Zimmerman was placed on the disabled list with an abdominal strain.
Zimmerman suffered the injury in spring training, but re-aggravated it recently while sliding into second base. He was hitting .357 with one home run and four RBI’s. Think they’ll miss his bat?
The good news for the Nationals is that he’s scheduled to come off the 15-day DL right on schedule, so they shouldn’t miss him for too long. Then again, they lose tons of game with him in the lineup, so what’s the worst that could happen?
Joe Blanton is scheduled to take on Livan Hernandez this evening; the puck drops at 7:05pm.
I have upped my Prediction for the Phils to finish better than expected with this news on 3B Zimmerman to the DL.. I now predict 97 Wins for the Phils
lol what was it before? Regardless of Zimmerman, this team is going to win 105-110 at the lowest. Just based on reputation and intimidation with the pitching staff, they are going to dominate.

After last nights performance vs the Nats (without their best Player in Zimmerman) I am going back to my original prediction of 92 Wins and a 2nd Place Finish to the Braves…
Meanwhile the best team in the NL, the Reds continue to tear it up with the best 8 man line-up in the league..
I predict the Phillies will be 7-3 on April 13.
