LeBron James & Dwyane Wade Lead Heat Over The Celtics

When the big game was over, LeBron James made a revealing statement. He said that he, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh had copied the Celtics trio of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, of coming together because you need multiple weapons in order to win a championship.

James made another statement last night by scoring the last 10 points of the game as the Miami Heat went on a 16-0 run to close out the Boston Celtics and move on to the next round of the NBA Playoffs.

James over did it after the game and acted as if they had won the NBA Championship. That Boston team which they beat is old and hurting. They weren’t at full strength, so they should have beat them. Still I give them credit for winning.

“Everything went through my mind at that point,” James said. “Finally getting over this hump against this team. Everything I went through this summer, with ‘The Decision’ and deciding to come down here to be a part of this team … because I knew how important team is to this sport … and all the backlash I got from it.

“I’d be up here for two hours if I tell you exactly everything that went through my head. Very emotional at that point, you know, and happy we got through it as a team.”

I thought Celtics head coach Doc Rivers made some good points after the game when he talked about how all the criticism of James and his teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh helped to prepare them with the mental toughness that would be required to make it through the playoffs.

Wade led the scoring with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals. James followed him with 33 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Bosh chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds. They scored 81 or Miami’s 97 points.

In fairness, Boston was done when point guard Rajon Rondo dislocated his arm in game three. There was no way they could beat the Heat without Rondo at full strength. They had hoped for some help from Shaquille Oneal but he looks like his career is over. He could barely run down court when he was out there.

The door is open to the finals for the Heat. All that have to do is beat the Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. I have to pick the Heat in that series because the Bulls are totally reliant on Rose.

I want somebody to answer the following questions. Why didn’t anybody criticize Danny Ainge for putting together Garnett, Pierce and Allen as a way of winning a championship? Is there something wrong with three players deciding that it would be a good move to play together because it would give them a better chance of winning a championship?

I criticized James, Wade and Bosh for the event in Miami to announce they decision to play together but thinking back about it, what’s wrong with players using their brains. We would have given an award to a GM, if he had figured out a way to get James, Wade and Bosh on the same team. What’s the big difference if the players decided to do it?
