This Was A Classic Choke Job For LeBron James And The Heat

Talking, celebrating and predicting that you’re going to win seven NBA Championships before you’ve even won one is foolish. If you want to make yourself and your team hated throughout the country this is the thing to do.

It was an awful mistake that LeBron James is going to take some time to live down. He’s got to be in some pain today.

James and the Miami Heat got together last summer and were talking about winning seven NBA Championships and celebrating prematurely. They were without a championship then and they still are without a championship today, after getting dominated last night by the Dallas Mavericks.

Think about it. The Miami Heat had a 2-1 lead in the series and would have been up 3-0, if they hadn’t surrendered a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter of game two. This was a choke job, there’s no other way to describe it. They couldn’t play in the fourth quarter with the game on the line and that’s described as choking.

NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks played their best game last night and fittingly, the Heat played their worst game.

James’ problems in the fourth quarter of the series may be the worst collapse of all-time by a star of his caliber. The series started with much talk about James being better than Michael Jordan, you won’t hear anybody making those statements anymore. Scottie Pippen should have his mouth washed out with soap for making the “James is better than Jordan” comment.

I still can’t explain why a player as talented as LeBron James would be so reluctant to shoot the ball in the fourth quarter of an NBA Finals series. I still can’t explain why he would position himself 30 feet from the basket despite the fact that he’s 6’8″ and weighs 270 pounds.

He must develop a low post game. With the game on the line, you don’t want to be taking three pointers. The reason teams draw up plays is so they can get the chance to take an easier shot.

Heat coach Eric Spoelstra should have been working with James and Dwyane Wade to make sure they could get easier shots with the game on the line. They’ll have to make some major strategy changes next year.

Now we see that Chris Bosh is the crier that we heard about earlier in the season. That was sad to see him crying after the game.

“All the people that were rooting me on to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life they had before.” – LeBron James

Unskilled is the only way to describe the Heat’s demise. Wade dribbling the ball off his foot and “King” Lebron banking the ball off the backboard ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIM. He should keep his mouth shut, because the more he talks, the deeper the hole becomes. It was a beautiful sight watching the Mavs dominate and control the ionosphere and twine all over those fools.

Honestly,
As much as I am happy to see the Heat lose–much because of the all the crap that went on last year when they all came together–it is sad to think that Lebron really ruined his legacy with that stupid “Decision” show. Nobody ever loves to see someone brag, but to brag and then not back it up is unforgivable. Throw in the fact that the guy anointed himelf as King and the Chosen One, and people really start to hate him. Then throw in the fact that he destroyed his hometown franchise and the way he left them, and you have an overwhelming majority of people rooting against him.
The Finals this year had a surprising viewing audience this year and I believe it was because alot of viewers wanted to watch the Heat lose. I know for myself, I wasn’t a huge Mavs fan, but I so desperately wanted to see the Heat lose and payback for the Sixers being “breakfast” comment by Bron.
Lebron will eventually get his ring, I have no doubt because he is too talented. But as for him being the next great one or better than Jordan, Russell, Bird, etc., I highly doubt it. The guy has had too much handed to him without him ever having to earn it. Now that he has to rise to the ocassion against guys who are equally talented and want it way more than he does, he doesn’t know how.

I can’t understand why the Heat don’t have some Isolation plays for Lebron
down on the low blocks, where he could utilize his size/strength over his defender..
I am no Coach, but having Wade at the Point and clearing out 1 side of the Floor and then a quick bounce pass down into the low-blocks to LeBron would seem to be very difficult to stop… I don’t think they ran this option a single time the entire series. The Mavs were the better team and deserved to win and I am glad they won.. The Heat were overrated from the get-go and Lebron is not even the best player on their team (D Wade is)…

I disagree, they obviously werent overrated, they made it to the NBA finals (another emotional comment from a heat hater)… The biggest issues wasnt only lebron missing shots it was Erik Spos inability to use his bench properly, we finally saw a Eddie house sighting, where in the heck was the best 3pt shooter in the NBA named James Jones? Hes won alot of games for them this year, more bad coaching….

June 13, 2011 12:45 pm

And there it is. Let’s blame the coaching. How did the coach’s decisions make LeBron not want to shoot the ball in the 4th quarter? How did the coaching make Wade/James turn the ball over so much. And I suppose it is also his fault that no one would pass the ball to Bosh at the end of games even though James brought the ball up the court and then passed it to Wade.

I don’t believe that they are overrated, but they sure couldn’t close a game worth a damn.

Wow, a Jon Hart sighting. I thought maybe you would crawl back under your rock and wait for the NFL to come around so you could laud the Cowboys and how Tony Romo is really the best QB in the NFL. Or wait, MLB is still going and the Yankees could make a turn around, right?
Dude, your act is so tired. You have lost all credibility here with every prediction you made that never came to fruition. You are a fraud, much like the guy that you worship.

Come talk trash again next year when Lebron is having a decent regular season–but make sure you show up before he gets to the playoffs and chokes AGAIN.

Bug, the coach played a huge role in there loss, he didnt utilize the bench all series long, he thought he could ride lebron, wade n bosh for 48 mins a game and not use eddie house, james jones, another big body in erick dampier. He should get alot of the blame, and bron bron bosh n wade were exhausted and i could tell because alot of there shots were short which indicates fatigue because you need your legs, if there gone then you dont have a chance

On the defensive end they showed alot of fatigue too, allowing alot of easy baskets and uncontested 3pointers… The coach has to put his players in a position to succeed and he didnt do that for 48mins a game. I doubt that he ll be back in miami as the coach… the only way he ll be back in miami is if he comes back as the teams video coordinator…

June 13, 2011 2:37 pm

Jon Hart,
Please do not allow statistics to get in the way of your arguements. Wade and James played too much? Really, that is your latest excuse? You really need to stop writing as you seem to make yourself look dumber and dumber the more you write.

Wade averaged 39 minutes per game in the postseason, which is identical to Dirk-who seemed to get it done adequately. James averaged 42 minutes per game, which is identical to Jordan’s 41.9 postseason minute per game average and Larry Bird’s 42 minutes per game. Yet Jordan, who was perhaps one of the greatest mid range jump shooters of all time, still got it done even into his mid 30s and playing big minutes.
You really have no clue. You sound every bit as sad as the Heat players, making excuses and blaming others for their failures. The fact remains that a superstar–or “King”–shows up and transcends being fatigued, sick or injured. They assert themselves and press their will to win on every other player around them. When the game is on the line, and every one else is tired, they overcome that stuff with their sheer will to win and TAKE OVER.

Why hate Eric Lindros? He played hard, it is not his fault the Flyers organization failed to aquire a goaltender or competent doctors. They kept sending him on the ice with post-concussion symptoms, then complained that he wasn’t tough enough. I am still not sure he would not have a decent shot at winning a lawsuit for negligence against both the Flyers and the team physicians.

Well @ Jon, I will ask you a question. How coachable do you think that Wade and James are? How much do you think that they listened to the coach.

And James played 40 minutes in Game 6 after 2 days off in between. They missed shots because they are not good shooters who have high field goal %s because of dunks and lay-ups.

I don’t think that the coach was very good in the series, but did he make LeBron stop trying? Stop taking shots in the 2nd half. Stop driving? Wait, he was tired. I forgot. I can’t remember any superstar complaining that he played too much, so he was to tired to play in the finals.

LMAO at LeBron’s ballhugger, Hart.

They have 3 superstars. They are supposed to roll through the regular season and the Finals on their way to 7 championships. LeBron couldn’t win in Cleveland without a supporting cast. He has the best supporting cast in the game and now it is the coaches fault? Sorry, but the best players in the game overcome adversity. They don’t need the perfect team to win the championship, because that is basically what you are describing. LeBron needs the perfect team. He is great but he can’t do it on his own and without a great coach. LMAO at him being a top 5 player. Keep digging yourself and LeBrons grave.

LeFRAUD needs to get a reality check. He is a no classed, over hyped, selfish, sackless, delusional, spoiled, punk, choke, who doesn’t deserve the life that he has been blessed with. He has show his true colors with the lack of respect & loyal in the beginning of the season for Cleveland. He has shown what a classless, punk, thug he is, with his condescending, smug, arrogant, scumbag comments after the game last night. Not to mention with what Wade & he did with mocking Nowitski last week. All he worries about looking good on ESPN highlights. He can’t wash the stains out of Jordans Hanes. He will not & doesn’t deserve to ever win a Championship. The big man upstairs doesn’t like ugly. BTW, before his secretarial apologist starts with calling me a hater, look at yourself in the mirror & give your fandom & allegiance to someone who deserves it.

He spoke down to everyone like, look what I have & you don’t, nah nee, nah nee, nah nee. Come on Jon, I used to love the guy. I’m not a hater, i’m a realist & speak the truth. I live a great life, work hard, make great money, with no regrets, & can look at myself in the mirror at the end of everyday, being humble knowing I respected everyone who works with & for me, & knowing i’m blessed for what I do have. Because i’ve came from nothing, growing up very poor, worked my balls off for 30 years to have decent life. I’m rich by no means, but it could be/ has been worse & I know that. Jon Noheart, all your comments stem from being a LeBron nuthugger, plain and simple. LeBron wasn’t tired, he just choked. He averaged like 3 minutes more per game in the playoffs as opposed to the regular season. 3 minutes? That is the difference from being fresh and being tired, for a SUPERSTAR? Wow! Also, if you look at LeBron’s past stats, you will see that he averages about the same amount of minutes more going from regular season. Never seemed to be a problem before, until now, because his “blame it on the supporting cast” excuse won’t work this time.

Also, there isn’t no one else to blame. Maybe for the last game, but all series, Wade and Bosh did their jobs. LeBron choked every 4th qtr. And lol at blaming the coach. The NBA depends the least on the coach you have.

Everyone that doesn’t agree that LeBron is God is automatically a hater to you. Dude, get a new schtick, because that is just old and pathetic.

Its crazy how some people can be so off base esp with the apolgies and excuses they make for players who cant cut it or live up in the biggest moments of Championship games. Ridiculous how pathetic and desperate people are to come up with every excuse imaginable when it comes to Lebron and the Heat. The excuses on here are a joke.
People are haters on Lebron just because he has money. The same people that hate Lebron are prolly the ones that love MJ or Kobe. Now don’t they have money? People choose to like the others because they actually come through in the Finals not because they have money. They don’t shy away and what nothing to do with the ball with 2 min left in the game. 11 points in 6 fourth quarters of the finals are the stats of a choke artist

Its the coach fault. If you consider yourself to be a superstar you shouldn’t need a great coach to win. There is so much isolation 1-on-1 plays in the NBA nowadays, where great players know how to get it done in crunch time either way

Lebron was fatigued. Now if you think this you are completely stupid. Lebron and the Heat got whooped by team of senior citizens. 40 years olds Kidd and Terry were dropping 3’s right in Lebrons face. Dirk seemed fine to me and he is in his 30s, had a torn tendon in his finger, and had a fever. But a team consisted of young core players all in their prime and prolly the best athelete in the game who is in his mid 20s was fatigued?

Why can’t sport fans on here dislike Lebron? He doesn’t even play here so he is basically an enemy. Why cant we dislike a player, esp one that just gave all his “haters” all the reasons in the world to dislike him in the past year. Some of these apologists and excuse makers sound just like the ones that would do the same for McNabb. God forbid you disliked McNabb because he choked in big games…instead on here your looked at like you are racist or you don’t like chunky soup.

Lebron is a rly good player, great athelete but he needs to grow a pair asap or he wont win any rings or have any “witnessess” left. The guy has serious mental issues that a blind man could see. He was terrified to have the ball in his hands at the end of the game, the whole team was actually. Then to take a shot at the fans of the NBA after he just choked just goes to show how much he cares what people think and how insecure he is mentally. I mean come on the guy wars a headband the size of a Genos steak to cover up his balding head. You dont get more insecure than that.
