Eagles backup quarterback Vince Young had an MRI today and the pictures showed he has a hamstring strain. In addition the Eagles just announced that they have released nine players: Jamar Wall, Rod Harper, Chris Wilson, AQ Shipley, Rashad Jeanty, Cornelius Ingram, Stanley Havili, Dallas Reynolds, and Graig Cooper.
Young still has the unorthodox delivery, but his performance last night against the Jets has quieted some of his critics. His delivery is anything but classic, yet the ball arrives accurately and on time.
Young is still having trouble with some of the verbiage in the west coast offense. You can see him looking toward the sideline when he has trouble getting the offense in and out of the huddle, sometimes he’ll call a time out to make sure they get everything straight, but he made a strong claim last night to the number two quarterback spot.
The former Texas Longhorn standout made a nice throw to Chad Hall for a touchdown. He was on target with throws outside the numbers and zipped balls down the middle with ease. People can say what they want about Young, but he did a nice job of preparing for the live exam he took last night.
Rookie running back Dion Lewis had an outstanding evening last night. The Eagles were getting him the ball on the ground and they were throwing it to him on screens and other short routes.
This young man doesn’t run like a rookie. He shows tremendous patience and makes a point to give his blocker a chance to do their job before he takes off. He’s even getting better as a pass blocker although I think he may be too small do that.
News will be once the tough decisions are made, and the roster is finalized.
I have a legit question for you guys…
Would you rather have DRC and a player in the 2nd round next season, or Kevin Kolb as our backup QB (compared to VY)?
I personally love the trade and am a VY fan, and think he will get back to starting and winning football games again (when he gets his chance to start somewhere).
And who knows, we have had a lot of changes at QB (McNabb-Kolb-Vick). What if he signs a 3 year deal after this season and replaces Vick in 3 years due to injury, and takes over the franchise from there after developing like Vick himself did. Just some thoughts.
Can someone please tell me why they only signed VY to a one year deal an not a two like we did with Vick? He looked really good last night an if he doesnt play another down this year it would of been enough to get something for him next year, You have teams like the Redskins, 49ers, Dolphins, Seahawks that you could of started a bidding war with and got something good in return, Instead hes gonna walk and we get nothing, Doesnt make sense.
that would never happen wmonell bcs they just signed vick to a 6 year 100 million dollar deal if im not mistaken lol
vy is only here to learn from andy and marty become a better qb and find a team to start on somewhere else…remember he has started for the titans and he is a proven qb in the nfl that can start…he is only here to fine tune his skills and get better as a qb….im pretty sure he would still be starting in tennessee if it werent for his feud with fisher….
what the eagles should do is sign him to a 3 year contract and use him as trade bait for other teams….we can easily get a 2nd rounder for vy….if alex smith struggles this year i would place my money that the 49ers would be gushing for such a deal…vy for a 2nd rounder..that sounds good to me
btw the alex smith/49ers scenario was just hypothetical…we could trade with any team in the nfl that is in need of a qb
Fer sure, a non-Eagles fan asked me that and thought I’d ask you guys.
100 million is if we dont cut vick off at 4 years, and if he makes pro bowls and wins a superbowl
otherwise it was a media deal with fluff in it
were prob gonna trade kafka for a 3rd at some point lol
A discussion with a friend has bought up in my head. who are the top 10 most active LOVED players in philadelphia. I have
1. Cliff Lee

Vance worley makes my list because his jerseys has sold more in the last 3 months than any other phillie so that has to count for something.

Clay Matthews Jr of the Packers for knocking out Kolb in last year’s Opener
For the Phils
Without a doubt for the gift that keeps on give..Houston Astros GM Ed Wade
These are my predictions (Sorry Schill) and I am sticking with them…
ha, paul, yeah, speaking of predictions, didn’t you say Brandon Graham would be on IR? Try PUP.
For the rest of you – how cool would it be if B Graham breaks out in the second half/end of the season, into the playoffs!? If our Dline plays as well as washburn system and the new additions has made it look in the preseason, and then they get that boost!? Look I know the guy is coming of a significant injury, so i’m not saying it will happen, but IF!? — Jwash said it himself that B graham was one of his favorite players coming out of the draft in a while.
WHEW how good that could be.
I answeres this on the other article..
Check SAturday afternoon and see if Graham is not on the IR then,,
1aHalladay
1bVick
Djax
Chase/Pence
Ryno

Your list is solid VRICH….good point on Worley…i think everyone sees him for what i think he might be…a solid #2 3 for years.
Paul….Matthews was a blessing no doubt.Hope his baby bro is one.
Jimmie…i forgot Jroll!!
WHere’s T Cole and J Avant
I’m not a VY fan, but he is relaxed in the pocket. He waits to scramble to give the recievers morer time because he knows he can break some tackles like Big Ben and McNabb(I don’t give McNabb praise, but he is strong and extremely hard to bring down).
