DeSean Jackson Won’t Play Today For The Eagles

Eagles starting wide receiver DeSean Jackson won’t play in the game today because he missed a team meeting on Saturday morning. He’ll be inactive for the game and it’s quite a sign about the attitude he has for playing football. I think Jackson is totally off the wagon. His attitude has just dissolved during the season.

“ Of course, everybody in this locker room can say there’s something they can get better at, so I’m not sitting here saying there’s nothing I can get better at, but at the end of the day, I’m putting my best effort up and I’m trying my hardest,” Jackson said on Friday.

I don’t think Jackson is giving the team everything he has. He’s been sulking because of his contract and I don’t think there’s any way he’s playing for the Eagles next season.

His attitude is part of the reason the Eagles are 3-5. The mentality of this football team isn’t where it should be and that’s why they haven’t won more football games.

Where’s the leadership on this football team to kick Jackson in the butt before he got to this.

There is no leadership on thie Team which is very disapointing and the biggest reason they are where they are.. Vick has been a huge disappointment in this area in my opinion, just going around being cool and nice to everyone and the continual statements that we are only stopping ourselves is not getting it done.. The Eagles took a much bigger risk signing Vick to that long term deal and I believe the Eagles are going to regret it big time and sooner than later….I see D-Jax gone after This Season and then once the Eagles fail again in the 2012 Season, Coach Ar and Staff will all be gone and Vick possibly too… and what a shame to have all this talent and athleticism and not know waht to do with it or to use it succesfully..

they are not using Desean correctly…. he is a decoy and should be used more on screens, end arounds and sometimes out of the backfield on sweeps etc….

watch how Florida uses Rainey – thats how they should use Desean… f-ing hate Morningwig

The other thing with D-JAx,
Most of us can’t say with a straight face that we didn’t see this coming..
The Eagles made a decision this past Off-Season after the Lockout was settled is A), Do we lock up D-Jax now for 4-5 Years at big $$$ or B) do we use some of this $$ to address other positons like CB,DL,back-up QB)

The 2 Biggest Mistakes this Eagle Team make Roster & Personnel Wise was not Trading A Samuel and D JAckson before this Season Started when you know going in that they are not part of your future plans.. The Players know this, and the Coaches know this, so go ahead and move them and get as most value as you can.. Now fast forward to this off-Season, most team know that Samuel will be gone so his value in return probably went fro ma 2nd Rounder and mid Rounder to a coupld of Mid-ROund Picks,, as far as D-JAx, I believe he cannot get out of Philly fast enough and will sign a deal with a team out on the West Coast .. (Chargers,49ers,Oakland or possibly even the Cardinals who have a need for a Speedster WR..)
I have stated and stand by it , that D-Jax , though very exciting and has big play capability, is not an everydown WR.. Get him out there for 30 Snaps a game and let him go deep, or drag coverage deep as a decoy.. having him play 60 snaps a game is joke for he gives up on routes too often,m doesn’t block well in the running game and disappears in the red-zone due to his small size and lack of wanting to go across the middle… I always thought he would be better utilized as a Part-time/Rotational Player where if he played 30 snaps a game and really focused on Special Teams (like Devin Hester has), he would still be a major playmaker and be fresh and have more of a e chance to contribute and wouldn’t be counted on areas of the game that he just can’t do./.. (Block,Gooing on the middle, playing in the Red-Zone) .. He’s just not an everydown WR and just doesn’t deserve Top $$$ and I still say his NFL Career is will about a 5-6 Year Winder which he’s hitting Year 4 now with his best years behind him, you cannot play “Scared” or at “80% Top Speed” , you have to play reckless and go all out every play or you will not be effective and this is exactly what we are seeing from D-Jax in 2011 is a football player playing “cautious” and I think it’s rubbing in on Maclin,Avant and even QB Vick a little bit… you can’t play that way.. ..

agree Paulman –

DJax is a Percy Harvin type player….explosive but not an every down WR, however, w/o him the offense would struggle… he attracts a ton of attention and forces teams to drop their safeties… Maclin would not be the player he is w/o DJax nor would the running game be as effective… I think the Eagles need to suck it up and give DJax 4-5 years @6-7m per season.
They have Nnamdi a ton and he sucks!

This is BULLSH!T. You got Asante ripping the front office, Avant ripping the fans for booing, Maclin costing the team game after game, the highest paid secondary doing jack n sh!t and they make an example out of the underpaid WR who was being a good little soldier all season even when his opportunities to do what he does best (go deep) have been reduced to playing decoy for the other players making twice as much as him (Maclin,Avant n Celek). DJack wasn’t being a distraction, wasn’t doing the T.O. in the media, not complaining and the eagles basically slap him in the face for missing a team meeting. I am so p!ssed with this decision I might not even watch todays game, of all the people who’ve not been help accountable for their poor play, this staff decides to make the guy playing by the rules a scapegoat. This is typical eagles, make the guy who wants a new contract seem like the bad guy, they’ll just draft a 6th round burner next draft and all of a sudden the deep ball will be apart of the gameplan again and DJack will go to another team and keep breaking records like he was before this year, before the underpaid guy on the last year of his contract asks for a new deal. How dare he

Andrew p, he didn’t get suspended for fumbling or short arming passes. So comparing other guys mistakes on the field doesn’t make sense. Apparently this isn’t the first time this year so if that’s the case I would have to agree with the decision. No one player is above the team and it doesn’t matter who you are, you make it to the meetings. He’s not being made an example of if this has really been a problem all year. He’s getting exactly what he should get. When your team is playing this bad, the last thing you should do is miss team meetings and act like you’re too important to come. I want the guy to play but his attitude sucks. End of story.

Jackson just missed a chance for big game. He only plays well against garbage teams anyway. 8 catches for 93 yards in the last 3 games. Enough said.

2 Weeks when the EAgles had a little glimmer of hope, it’s the Samuel story of calling out the Front OFfice, this week, as they try to salvage thier season (which is doubtful in my opinion anyways) , this crap about D-Jax..
No contrl from the Top, undisciplined team full of ego, immature, over-rated players who are talented ,b ut care more about individual successes than team success’s.. I did not like the make up of this team back in the Summer and I even like it less 1/2 thru the Season..

hmmmmm…Nobody knows whats going on behind closed doors. We can only go by what we see on the field. If hes been benched, even with the Eagles playoffs hopes diminishing, you can best believe he has pissed alot of people off.

Jackson is a punk, a fast one at that, but just a punk with no fight in him. He is no Jerry Rice and never will be. He and Pinkston should be blood brothers.
