Eagles Season Is All But Over With 21-17 Loss To Cards

I don’t know where I should start out with trying to describe how bad that loss was to the Arizona Cardinals.  Here you had them playing with a backup quarterback who couldn’t even get out of his own way.

That’s two weeks in a row that we’ve seen Andy Reid’s team come out and play uninspired football.  They weren’t ready to play on Monday Night football in a big game against the Bears and they weren’t ready today against a bad Cardinals team, which came in with two wins in their first eight games.

Reid punished DeSean Jackson by not letting him dress after he missed a special teams meeting yesterday.  It seemed like he’s lost this football team to be honest with you.

Quarterback Michael Vick has been getting a free pass, but his time is up.  He played a horrible game and has been playing poorly for most of the season.

The wide receivers played poorly  as they struggled to get open consistently.  Teams have had little trouble moving the ball and scoring points against the Cardinals except the Andy Reid and Michael Vick led Eagles.

What does that say?

The defense let quarterback John Skelton pass for 315 yards and there are many who don’t believe Skelton should be in the NFL.  The Eagles defensive backs looked like a comedy act the way they were tipped passing and letting go through hands so that Larry Fitzgerald could pull them in.

How many times will teams be allowed to march down the field in the fourth quarter against Juan Castillo’s defense?  The Eagles secondary continues to struggle.  It doesn’t matter what quarterback plays against the Eagles, he looks good.  Skelton is a horrible quarterback but he got the job done today because the Birds defense can’t stop anybody in the fourth quarter.

This is the fifth time this year that the Eagles lose a fourth quarter lead.  They have two bad qualities which showed themselves again today.

The Eagles offense can’t score in the fourth quarter.  They’re averaging three points in the final period.  Their defense can’t stop anybody in the fourth quarter.

In my opinion, Reid has gotten more mileage out of the first 5 years of his tenure then he could ever dream of getting. The first half of his career was buoyed by Jim Johnson’s defense. I now find it interesting listening to all the Reid supporters and apologists explaining away this disaster of a team he’s created. Weak drafts, Weaker personnel with an abomination of a philosophy. Small, weak, low draft pick, soft players and no leaders. he is a failure and it’s time to move on. The only bad thing is, any owner that allows two individuals with no football pedigree (Banner and Roseman), to run his team is not destined for any better then we’ve seen. One and all must face reality. The Eagles probably won’t win a championship for the next 15 to 20 years or whenever Banner et all are retired or dead.

Blow this s!@# up ….When will people learn? the AR era is over. when you have guys calling out the front office, missing team meetings, numerous penalties in the games, poor tackling and you bench your Best receiver #10 not only has AR lost this team but there is an old saying DONT CUT YOUR NOSE OFF TO SPITE YOUR FACE….AR benched #10 it looked to me like he needed #10 in today’s game vs Arizona.

This team has a runnign back that’s 1st in yards, 1st in 1st downs, 1st in TD and you hand him the ball only 14 times so you can ask Vick, The Turnover Machine to throw for less the a 50% completion ratio/ Yeah, Reid and company are BRILLIANT!

Jackson has been playing like crap this season. What the F makes anyone think that Jackson would’ve been the difference in this loss when he hasn’t been the difference in the previous 5 losses? DUH?

1 Suggestion I would have to keep most of the staff and core players still together.. Fire Coach AR, and DC Castillo
Hire Jeff Fisher to be Head Coach, but let Coach MM run the Offense and let Fisher hire DC Chuck Cecil to oversee the Defense.. Fisher can Focus on the Scouting,Drafting and Roster management to get rid of the soft players who don’t want to remain an Eagle…

Come to think of it, Jackson hasn’t been the difference in more than 1 game this entire season. A man with that kind talent and that’s the best he can muster because of his attitude? The man’s a moron.

Lourie, Banner, Roseman Reid, and Juan are morons. You can’t buy a team as shown by the Redskins and Redsox, but these smarter than thou geek- dork- nerds think they are superior in their own minds. They are 3-6 and going down in flames. The clueless bunch of egomaniacs are lost, like a ship without a rudder.

Th offensive line is doing plenty to win games. Vick is starting to leave the pocket to what hw thinks is open field, but the gives the defensive lineman open lane to ge him. The lneman are keeping the pocket intact, but he’s leaving and taking hits. His height is killing him, he gets a lot of tipped passes and has trouble seeing over the line. It sounds simple, but they is only 1 Drew Brees that can be an elite passer depsite his height.

I believe our philosophy (on both sides of the ball) is the biggest cause for failure. It’s so easy to blame players (and sometimes it is the players), but there’s a lot of evidence to the contrary here.

We have a number of pro bowlers who have failed as Eagles. When I consider that these players weren’t one-year wonders, and that NFL teams have had years to find their weaknesses, I find very, very difficult to believe that they ALL are frauds or that they ALL

Sorry for all the typing errors. Vicks best days are amazing, but he is showing to be average at best. It’s hard to be a runner all your life and turn into an elite qb. He’s got the arm and legs, but he needs 4 more inches of height.

It’s clear Jimmy Johnson was the main reason for the good years.
Roseman and Reid both have had horrible years and both may be pointing at the other in the meetings with Lurie.

I just think it’s too simplistic to pinpoint any one player.

For example, all of last season, one person kept posting that he had never seen Vick take a 3-step drop and deliver the ball with accuracy. Problem was that Reid wasn’t calling those types of plays. He kept calling max-protect intermediate and deep routes and Vick would have to run for his life because it was taking too long for the play to develop.

It’s also easy to ignore the fact that the type of plays you call opens up passing lanes, slows pass rushes and otherwise keeps defenses off-balanced. Reid has been very predictable for years. Defenses bragged about knowing exactly which play Reid would run at any given time. This didn’t happen one or two times. It happened repeatedly. As I used to ask then, “Why call a huddle if the defense knows what you’re doing.”

I watched Reid call the perfect game against the Falcons, then turn around do just the opposite the very next week. He repeated that this year when he called a perfect short-yardage passing game against the Cowboys, then decided to go away from a more balanced attack the following week.

That’s what’s gotten me with Reid. He has been so brilliant at different times, then he’d turn around and do something completely head-scratching. For example, this year, he brought in all new high-profile players and coaches (during a strike-shortened season), and as if that didn’t make things difficult enough, he named Castillo his defensive coordinator.

Reid has, more often than not, been his own worst enemy.

That WIDE9 is flawed.. look what happen to the lions today by the hands of the bears.. They were dismantled… they should have gotten away from this thing a long time ago… And answer this question, what team has won a SB by using this WIDE9? Give me a name of a team, coach, anybody. Washburn certainly hasnt won anything, hes just been around for a long time… Im tired of this. Then the LBsthen the DBs.. now we gotta be concerned with the offense? That used to be our strong area until teams have figured us out… This team is nauseating… i was watching this game saying to myself they look terrible, there gonna lose this game, Is this what its come to? Maybe there needs to be a coaching change bc ultimately its his fault all around bc he drafted these guys, he wanted these guys in FA, he hired Juan Castillo, he hired washburn… This year may veryell be a wash depending on who loses… But honestly with the way this current team is playing, i dont want them in the Playoffs and then be ousted in the wildcard game again…

Once again the Reidtard shows just how little he understands this game. How many games do the Eagles have to lose because of the Reidtard’s refusal to give the running game a chance? No wonder the players don’t care about losing another forth quarter lead, the man in charge is clueless and if his master plan isn’t working then there is always next week to prove what an evil genius he really is.

Now that the season is over, yes Navy you might as well admit it (sure have been quiet lately, did the Reidtard poison your Kool-Aid), we can finally get to looking forward to next season and just how the Reidtard will destroy the 2012 season. Don’t kid yourselves fellow Eagles fans, the Patriots fan will not be firing the Reidtard. That’s why Castillo was made the DC, the Reidtard does know how to set up the dominoes so he always has another scapegoat.

I guess this is pretty obvious but you could see this coming. We brought in a lot of high level free agents many from losing organizations that were used to losing. We also brought in a new coaching staff with an inexperienced defensive coordinator. We have a new line system on both sides of the ball with line coaches that probably have opinions. They also didn’t have any leadership left from the teams that made them successful in the past. This isn’t fantasy football it’s a team sport and the front office has probably taken over leadership of the team. Reid has lost control of the team and in many ways it’s not completely his fault. The things that made them successful in the past aren’t being done any longer.

The Eagles are too predictable offensively! They need big receivers who can get off press coverage and catch intermediate routes. This will mean upgrading their current receiving core, during the off season. This season is HISTORY!! It’s difficult watching (Nicks, Cruz, Manningham- Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Finley, Driver- Vernon Davis, Crabtree, Edwards,) to name a few. The home run isn’t the only way to score.

FYI John
Bears beat the Lions bad because Lions QB Stafford threw 4 Int’s 2 of which were returned for TD’s and Devin Herster returned a Punt for a TD so that’s 21 Points right there…. The Bears Offense didn’t do much versus the Lions Defense to be honest with you,… Forte 18 Rushes for 64 Yards and Barber with 13 carries for 27 yards… Cutler 9 for 19 for 123 yards for 0 Td’s or 0 Ints’ and it appears the Lions Defense played very well even though a lopsided score.. .

I agree with G, I believe Reid has lost this team. I have never seen a team play this poorly under his entire tenure here. I was listening to Ike Reese on Wip on Thursday and while he didn’t elaborate, he did say that there’s alot going on behind closed doors thats affecting this team. Stay tuned because I have a feeling theres going to be alot of changes in the works….

PW, take some Pepto brother. I went through half a bottle, & some Tums. None of this should surprise, anybody on here. They stink, & have stunk, since the opening season kickoff. Well at least we will finally get Reid out of here. If they don’t fire this entire staff, the fan’s should picket the Novacare center. Reid lost the team!? What happened to all of the talk, about how much the players love him, & play their hearts out for him? Where are all of the critic, apologist, blind loyalists at? Do you now know what we were bitching about, all along?

DCar, I doubt the Reidtard is going anywhere. He has put his scapegoats in place and they will be sacrificed to appease the Patriots fan. This season is a wash, he has one more season on his current contract and don’t get too upset if he is extended three more seasons. The only way the Reidtard is going anywhere is if he decides to leave, the Patriots fan has a billion reasons to keep him here and as you should already know the only thing that matters to this Franchise is profits.

Unfortunatley, I called for the Eagles to have a very good chance and makings of having a “Train Wreck” Season back in Pre-Season, due to most likley getting off to a slow start, bit I expected them to get their legs under them by week #4 or #5 and surely by the BYE Week to come our refreshed and ready for the 2nd half of the season, but it’s just not happening…The Team is coming apart from the every which direction…
Veteran Players like A Samuel, D-Jax, Winston Justice,Trent Cole, Jamal Jackson, Jason Avant are all unhappy for one-reason or another.. New Players like VY, Ronnie Brown,Steve Smith,DCR and even Asmo seem out of place and very uncomfortable being on this team…
I stated that Coach Andy Reid would reach his demise by poor play at Home which is exactly whats happening and what’s even more distrubing is the when you look at the Schedle,,, Road Game vs the Redskins in Washington,DC, Bye Week, then 3 Home Games in a row so the Team has been home for over a month… Maybe too many distractions, too much time at home, too many familiy issues, going out to concerts, etc, etc… Whatever it is, the Bye Week didn’t work and if some of the these reports are true about multiple players missing this or missing that, then obviously Coach AR has lost his team…
