Former Eagles Pro Bowl Safety Brian Dawkins Considering Retirement

Paul Domowitch of Philly.com reports that former Eagles Pro Bowl safety Brian Dawkins is considering retirement.  He hasn’t decided but you tell by some of his comments that he’s serious considering it.

“The season’s not even over yet; the Super Bowl hasn’t been played,” Dawkins said. “I’ll give it some prayer and we’ll take it from there.”

Dawkins missed the last few games of the season for the Denver Broncos and he missed all of their playoff games because of a neck injury.  This neck injury kept him out of a month of football, so you know it had to be serious.
We’ll keep you posted about Dawkins’ future.

If he retires and the Eagles don’t offer Dawkins a position they will be missing out again on his
much needed abilities.

All time favorite Eagle…thanks BDawk….he would be a HUGE upgrade over Zordich, but knowing how AR works, he won’t make the move.

Brian Dawkins did not replace Mike Zordich they played 3 years together with Zordich (SS) and Dawkins (FS) ——Dawkins replaced Greg Jackson and Tim Hauck replaced Mike Zordich who also played 3 years with Dawkins —

opps Greenfan replace Zordich as coach —- no Dawk has too much money to work coaches hours he would not want to do it — but replace Ed Rendall on post game on comcast I’m for that

Hopefully Dawk can sign one year with the Saints and help Spags win it all for a well deserved Swan Song.

If he was with another organization in his early years he would have some hardware.

We appreciate you Dawk in spite of our pathetic organization.

Wish you well D-Dawk

@songs I dig your passion brother, but hell you hate on the Eagles at every opportunity. Yea I get where you are coming from, but face the facts.

During the Superbowl Era there are only a few historic prime organizations in the NFL that are better than ours, like it or not inspite of our superbowl woes, and Conf Champ gaffs the Eagles is one of those Top Team/Organization. Get over it!

Now we lose the Superbowl argument “EveryTime”but we stack up well as an organization and team than most of the league when you account full histroy.

So who historically is better: Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, Packers, Broncos, Giants, Redkins, Raiders. Don’t give me any Saints , Falcon, crap either.

An as far as the hear and now

Saints won the Superbowl so you can’t bad mouth them too much, but consider that they sucked win for like ever, and with a ton of top 3 drafts for over a decade something has to give. Same for Lions. Plus guys rage about the Saints, but the got their Arse handed to them last season by the lowly Seahawks, and this year also, still some guys on here sing their prasies glory hallaSaints Amen, but if our Eagles had done that (And We have) “The sky is falling woes is me, the Eagles Suck”

I get your frustration my brothers but don’t go postal, keep your perspective and and keep it real. Voice your views but don’t make stuff up as Brother Navy often says.

“Weapon X” is the biggest Donovan McNabb fan of all time, so understand when he said if he were to play another season it would have to be in Denver it was about the Eagles being a more foreign McNabb-less team than the Broncos. If the Eagles sign McNabb and the Broncos release Dawkins that’s the only way he might retire an Eagle.
