Andy Reid released a statement yesterday concerning the article by Sam Farmer which was in the Los Angeles Times. First he denied the report that he initially wanted the Eagles to get into the “Peyton Manning” sweepstakes. Then he denied any talk of him being unhappy about his level of control in the front office.
No where in the statement does he deny threatening to quit.
“We look into everything, as all teams do. And I have the highest regard for Peyton Manning. But as I said publicly last month, that wasn’t the direction we were heading in. Michael is our guy.”
“As far as the personnel control, I have had final say on personnel matters for quite some time here and that’s never been an issue or a point of contention.”
“Our front office works very well together and that’s one of our strengths.”
So there you have it. Can we assume that he did threaten to quit?
“BOO HOOOO”…Just bring us home a Lombardi Reid.
All of us have worked with a co-worker who should be fired, that threatens to quit.

Rocko, interesting post there. To me it sounds like the pastime of hating on the front office is so entertaining to you, that it takes precedence over wanting to keep the best player on the team, on the team. I’ve said it a million times – i’m a pitt alumn and loved shady there, loved that they drafted him, and love that he’s been successful! The man is going to be a milionaire regardless. I want him to remain an eagle. That’s all I care about. Not some weak rumor about what the front office offered him. I don’t care what the guy makes, I wan the team to keep him for one reason and one reason only, because it makes the team better. Because see, im an Eagles fan. Not a front office hater. You seem to be, at least in the offseason, a front office hater first.

I didn’t find it funny jake. And that has nothing to do with my love for the Eagles or Andy Reid the person at all. I think low level fat jokes like that stopped being funny around the time I learned about algebra.

Whatever the current controversy and whatever players the Eagles may add thru FA & the draft, I just don’t have a good feeling about the Birds…History has a way of repeating itself…I hope I’m wrong…
