Report: Eagles To Put Ryan Tannehill Through Private Workout

Philly.com reports that the Eagles are going to put Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill through a private workout. Tannelhill fits the mold of quarterbacks whom Andy Reid has fallen in love with in the past.

The young gunslinger, who played wide receiver a couple of years ago, is an outstanding athlete for a quarterback.

This report supports the thinking that the Eagles may draft a quarterback in the early rounds of the draft.

The Eagles will also be working out strong armed Michigan State Spartan Kirk Cousins.

There’s no denying that Andy Reid has been able to get the best out of his quarterbacks.  Nearly every quarterback who has played under Reid’s guidance has played their best football while playing for him.  You can go through the list of Donovan McNabb, A.J. Feeley, Kevin Kolb, and Michael Vick, they all played their best football for Andy Reid.

For that reason, it makes sense for the Birds to keep a young talented quarterback on their roster because it will allow them to continue fleecing other teams who are in search of quarterbacks.

Or be ready to take the reins and lead the offense when Vick is finished here? I like the Tannehill kid…he’ll be gone before we get a shot at em though. Pick a defender whos ready to play.

They need to use this draft to get playmakers and not b.s. around taking a qb.

Defense defense and defense.

Erock — to expect the Birds to draft a defensive player and then expecting that player to make an IMMEDIATE impact is a reach. It just doesn’t happen that often. When it does, thats great, but the odds of it happening are low.

If they believe Tannehill is our future QB (Vick is 32) — I’m all for it. Let him learn the game for two years or so and then insert him as the new franchise QB.

Word from Cleveland

Eagles Offering their #15 Pick, 4th Round Pick(#115th), & DE D Tapp and CB
A Samuel for their #4 Overall Pick which is when the Eagles Select QB Ryan Tannehill If the Eagles like him, they will have to move up ahead of the 8th Overall to jump in front of Miami to be able to get him….

This guy is not worth the 1st round pick that it is going to take to get him. Stick to defense. Let’s get Keuchley in here to play on the outside and for insurance in case Ryans doesn’t fully recover (which I think he will).

WE MIGHT AS WELL DRAFT A WATERBOY IN THE FIRST ROUND AT THE RATE THIS FO IS STRIKING OUT. KEEP ON GOOFIN ANDY, KEEP ON GOOFIN. THE GIANTS, COWBOYS AND SKINS ALL HAVE AT LEAST 3 SB IN THE NFC EAST. I am just angry we did not lose all 16 with Luck/RG III available this year. Given the 1-4 start last seasn I was pulling for 1-15 and a new regime. Oh well now we deal with stale Andy again.

The horrible part is that the move for Demeco Ryans almost has me pulled back in.

I sign Shady NOW. Trade Vick play Edwards and hope for Barkley or some other prototypical QB next Off season.

I like this kid, to move up to 4-7 to get this kid is not very realistic. I would stack the D in the early rounds and really make a push to get a qb next year. Let Vick ride this year out with a more talented D (hopefully).

Rocko you crazy boy but I agree with you, we have no rings and people on here giving Reid love. This dude they bringing in use to be a dam wide receiver up until like two years ago. Come on man, Barkley coming out next year try to get him, he looks like a beast. Man we our going to fuck up another draft thanks eagles.

They brought in Cousins too. Maybe he’s worth it in the mid rounds. But I agree with you guys on not going big with QB early. And despite Rocko’s foolish over reaction above, I think the wisdom of visits meaning very little in terms of who they’re going to draft still stands.

Also – you guys see the Yeramiah Bell report? “The Miami Herald is reporting that free agent safety Yeremiah Bell has “drawn interest” from the Eagles. The 34 year old was released by the Dolphins last week, but Miami reportedly is interested in bring him back.” – bleedinggreennation.com

Loser talk …lose all 16.

He’s not worth a 1st round pick. Rodgers was a qb from birth.

Defense….thats all im saying. Not even giving any credence to this work-out.

Draft someone with anger in there hearts….tackles through ones flesh…has no less then 3 tats….hates offensive players…makes people go in the other grocery line…enjoys Ray Lewis quotes…hates playing offense on Madden…and wants to win a SB AND NOT JUST LINE HIS POCKETS…A REAL FOOTBALL PLAYER.

Drafting a QB now is dumb. 1st off the odds of a top 10 QB being any good is a flip of the coin. What are the odds of a lower pick QB making it? This team needs to forget about the future QB and get a friggin player that can help this defense now. Give me a FA QB down the line if you cant get me a blue chipper. Havent we been down the f&*ing Kolb road already? If this coaching staff thinks its set with the personel it already has and cant use a blue chip 1st round draft pick then they are just hopeless.

I have an idea maybe the Cowboys will lend us one of their trophies. Like one of the one’s they won back in the 70’s. They can dust it off for us so we can place it next to the two certificates we won back in 48 and 60. They weren’t superbowls, we have certificates. Then our trophy case will have something in it.

The Eagles are doing their diligence… as I said before, if Tanehill falls to #7, the Eagles will use a 2nd round pick to move up and get him…..they know they have another 2nd rounder to pickup a DT where the value is there…Kendall Reyes and Brandon Thompson will be available in round 2. Also, if they can land another 3rd rounder for Asante, the more highly likely they package picks to move up for Tanehill. I really like him and think he will be just as good as Luck and Griffin. He doesnt have the experience, but has all the skills needed to be a successful NFL starter.

I think we should take the best defensive players with our first 3 picks (DT, S, OLB)

Jott lets just package all our draft picks to move up to get Tanehill. Hell we are set on defense. Why in the hell would we need a 1st round DT or a 1st round LB or a 1st round safety. Our defense is great. We have the luxury of drafting for the future..Lets trade our whole f%$ing draft for a QB they may or may not help us in a few years. Why the f&^k trade Kolb last year only to draft another QB a year later? Wasnt Kolb the QB of the future?

So who wins you a super bowl, a stud DT or a franchise QB? If Vick isn’t the guy, who and where do we get him? I don’t know if Tannenhill is a future franchise QB, but if Vick isn’t, what do we do? We need to address that NOW, not next year – unless you want to become the Washington Redskins. Without a solid QB, you are doomed to years and years of 5-11 teams.

Vick is the answer for the next 3 seasons. My opinion. We’ll get a franchise q to mold in the next draft Dixie. I see your angle. A stud dtackle could help us win a SB if he keeps the mosters in the middle fresh and cracking Flacco or Brady in the 4th quarter.

I cant believe i still the word Super Bowl being mentioned in some of the conversation on here. It almost looks like there are some people who still believe they are going t win the Suoer bowl next year. SMH.. Damn fellas and ladies i remember when i used to talk like that for 13 years. Thinking Andy will change his ways. If you have been paying attention to what reports have been saying about Next season and how Andy said how they MIGHT lower Shadies touches to preserve him during his contract year. So now you take away shady, so that means you are going to throw it even more which means putting it on the shoulders of a QB whos own records shows he will not get it done when the pressure is on. Im not making it up or taking a shot at vick I am just stating facts. If he throws more then that is more of a chance to do what his career records show and that is turn the ball over. So Reid admitted screwing up another season becasue they dont want to give Shady a lot of money. Low numbers lets them say we dont have to pay you top dollar because you were not featured in the offense as much. I.E Desean. if they paid him coming off that pro bowl season it was Money in the bank and Andy admitted to cutting shadys touches nest season so you already know.. Year 14 and most will be talking about the same thing. They will get rid of Asantue get all the right players and still wont do it because the real problem is the coach. Watch and see.

Kirk Cousins, isn’t worth the spot they would have to draft him, and Russell Wilson sucks, he won’t even be a QB in the NFL, stop it. .Anybody that thinks he is an NFL QB really doesn’t know football…….They do have to draft a project, Brock Osweiler, is an interesting prospect, depending where you draft him. Defense should be our main focus. Maybe a QB, in the 5-7 rounds, they’re not going to start any time soon anyway, why draft outside priority. I still say, trade to get Ryan Mallett from New England, he’s better than Andrew Luck is right now.

Larrwd, I respect it, I just don’t agree with it, mainly because the evaluation is asinine. He really stunk it up in the Senior Bowl, and at the combine. He has been exposed when you move him a way from the five, first round pick offensive lineman who protected him. He just is not an NFL QB. I’m sorry you are offended, but I also know the truth hurts. Russell Wilson, won’t ever be an NFL QB; He just doesn’t measure up.

I am a fan of Vontaze Burfict, the college player, but when the GCobb family posts some reasonable, realistic opinions, you swallow your pride, and accept what is likely reality.

I take the Steven A Smith remark as a compliment, that’s my boy. He knows his stuff too. Only those who don’t recognize that hate on him.

I DON’T WANT TO BE “KOLBED” AGAIN FOR THE LIFE OF ME. THE OFFENSE IS PRETTY STRAIGHT EXCEPT FOR MAYBE THE REDZONE, DESEAN IS GOOD, MATHIS IS BACK. WE NEED DEFENSE, TO HELL WITH A WASTED NO NAMECONVERTED WR TO QB CRAP. STEVE SMITH, VINCE YOUNG (WASTED SELECTIONS) WHEN WE COULD OF HAD BURRESS FOR A YEAR. MATTHEWS A WASTED PICK WHO THIS IDIOT COACH GAVE THE POSITION TO LIKE HE DID KOLB; YET HE CLAIMED HE “GOOFED”? GOOFED – ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WE NEED A COACH WHO WILL THE MEDIA TO TAKE A FLYING LEAP AND WILL TELL OFF THE TEAM IF THEY DID POORLY TO MAKE THEM NOT GET EMBARRASSED AGAIN
IE: “What’s that? Ah — Playoffs? Don’t talk about — playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game! Another game.

WE NEED A COACH WITH A PAIR OF STEEL BALLS AROUND HERE, NOT A COACH WITH A “COTTON CANDY NUTSACK”. WE NEED A NASTY COACH WHO WILL DRAFT NASTY PLAYERS.

Erock – “Draft someone with anger in there hearts….tackles through ones flesh…has no less then 3 tats….hates offensive players…makes people go in the other grocery line…enjoys Ray Lewis quotes…hates playing offense on Madden…and wants to win a SB AND NOT JUST LINE HIS POCKETS…A REAL FOOTBALL PLAYER”. best quote of the day buddy. Now thats what I’m talking bout!

Our owners are business men who want to continually profit as long as they can. They are from New England and grew up as patriot fans. their loyalty to this organization is no different than an employee who keeps looking for a new and better job that pays more, and then they’ll be out the door to that job. Al Davis (RIP) breathed football, jerry jones, rooneys and the Mara’s slept football. These “jive suckas” we got running this organization are a bunch of “pee wee’s compared to these other SB winning owners.

THE GIANTS WON 2 SB IN 5 YEARS AND WE WON NONE IN 13 WITH THIS CLOWN FO WHO ARE TO BUSY MASSAGING EACHOTHERS BALLS DURING DRAFT TIME. NOOOO!!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD & HOLY, NO MORE PROJECT FIRST ROUNDERS!!! We need DF, DF, DF, & DEPTH. We need players to make an impact right away, with our first 3 picks, or they will be no better than last year. Draft Cousins in the 3rd, case closed. Groom him, if you’re such a QB genius, Reid. You don’t waste a 1st rounder on a freaking project QB, when you have dire needs at DT, both outside LB spots, SS, Return man, & quality back-ups. Unless they are going to fill those holes at OLB’s, DT & veteran SS in FA, YOU DO NOT DO SOMETHING THAT IDIOTIC! Don’t be confused, that would be the most IDIOTIC move of Reid’s tenure, next to making Castillo DC.

Erock, how’s about us signing- SS Yeremiah Bell, OLB Leroy Hill, & draft DT Fletcher Cox, DE Vinny Curry, OLB Lavonte David, QB Kirk Cousins with our first four picks. The rest of the draft is cake. Although Bell is not a great playmaker, he is a solid veteran SS, that plays the run great, is a great tackler, hits hard, was coached by Bowles for years, & would be the perfect techer to Coleman & Jarrett. Leroy Hill is another solid vateran that would upgrade this LB core. He is another injury concern (right up our alley), but when he is healthy, can cover TE’s, tackle & is solid sideline to sideline.

Keuchley is a short armed bum who would get abused at the SaM position period.

They have added 10 pounds and 2 inches to his measurables and I don’t want nothing to do with this guy.

He’ll be a speed bump on the NFL level.

Now, that Vontaze Burfict stock have dropped we’re open to a low risk high reward player that if pans out the upside would be leaps and bounds above Yosemite Sam.

We can get a stud DT at 15 and probably trade up from our 2nd round pick to Grab Barron in the later part of the 1st round..and get Burfict on the cheap in the 4th round.
