Flyers And Sixers Series Do About Faces In Less Than An Hour

Can you believe the way every turned upside down last night?  The Flyers and 76ers playoff series took major turns in a span of thirty-minutes.  Now one of our playoff teams is going one way and the other playoff teams is going the other.

The Flyers game began with them in the drivers seat and a one game lead.  They quickly took the lead with a goal by Matt Read.

Goallie Ilya Bryzgalov single-handedly protected that lead for two periods and seemed to headed for Flyers immortality when he’s was totally deserted by his teammates.  The Devils seemed to playing by themselves in front of Bryzgalov as they peppered him with shots.

The Flyboys could muster nothing else offensively for the rest of the way as the air went out of the Wells Fargo Center, as the fans filed out during the end of the third period.  A series has been created.

In the other playoff game, the 76ers were battling the Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls and expected to play out the string while being swept by the Bulls who still had their defense and rebounding.  The first half was close game, but in the third quarter, the Sixers blew the game wide open.

Jrue Holiday was scorching hot.  Evan Turner was making things happen and the 76ers were outrunning the Bulls and dunking again and again.  They were outplaying Chicago at their game.

Doug Collins crew was forcing turnovers and bad shots, then hitting the boards and beating the Bulls down court.  It started looking easy and it has to make Chicago wonder whether they can continue to win without Rose.

Now we’ve got outselves a series with the next two games being played here in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center.

If the second game was a stinker, in the third the Flyers took a dump on the buffet table.
