Report: Dion Lewis Arrested

According to Bryan Fitzgerald of the Albany-Times Union, Philadelphia Eagles running back Dion Lewis was arrested over the weekend. The former fifth-round pick was reportedly intoxicated and pulled a fire alarm at a hotel at the Hampton Inn in Albany. He will be charged with falsely reporting a fire as well as reckless endangerment.

It remains to be seen how (if at all) this news impacts Lewis’ status with the team. In the past, Andy Reid hasn’t had much tolerance for young players that cause problems off of the field, but Lewis was expected to play a key role with the team this year as LeSean McCoy’s primary backup. The second-year player also figured to be in the mix to return kickoffs once again.

The Eagles don’t have much depth behind McCoy and Lewis, with rookies Bryce Brown and Chris Polk the only other running backs on the roster at this time. The team has yet to comment on the issue as of this writing.

Lewis will be on the Waiver Wire by the 2nd week of Camp as Eagles want a good solid look at Bryce Brown and Chris Polk.. as far as the experience factor, I don’t beleive it means that much since Lewis was a Rookie last year and really didn’t do that much with his opportuntities that he had to begin with..
Time to move on…

Lewis will have a chance to compete in camp and show what he can give. This arrest will play little to no part of his spot on the team.

I don’t beleive Lewis was making the team to begin with…
Either Polk/Brown will make the 53man Roster with the remaining one to the Practice Squad and I can see the Eagles going out and signing a Veteran once camp rolls around for protection in the event of an injury to McCoy..

The Eagles can wait to see the legal outcome, but Roger Goodell may have a greater impact on what happens during season… Ex: He decides to suspend Lewis for 3 preseason games, or 2+ reg season games. How do you think the Eagles would view the likelihood of Lewis having a very good season as backup?? Then again, if Brown or Polk have an excellent camp (Brown could be the sleeper), I don’t believe the Eagles will keep Lewis unless he was spectacular early in camp, assuming Goodell has not even intervened yet.

so it says at Albany Times-Union that his older brother hit the doors so hard that they almost came off the hinges, man if he hits that hard we could use him to lol or they are over exagerting up there. But it also says that he hs two prior felonies so thats why they are keeping him. wow Deion just might have gotten his brother life on a 3 stikes law up there. i hope it not just 3 felonies period that get you life or he could be hit big time…. And the crazy thing is he was up there to speak to about 100 kids at a summer camp about making “better decisions in life Nd bulling”. go figure. i wanted one of the other two rookies to get it any way. Bryce is the man..

Mr. Lewis, meet the turk! Seriously if Brown can keep his head on straight or Polk can stay healthy, Lewis is going to get the machete. Brown is bigger and faster, while polk is more powerful, can catch the ball and is a serious in between the tackles runner who can push the pile. This kid (Lewis)better get himself ready for serious competition for a roster spot, one of the rookie backs will make this team I believe and it may be at Dione’s expense. I’m sure Reid does not want or need this headache.

He seems to be better at getting arrested than returning kicks.

I think the 49ers go to the Superbowl this year..That Harbaugh even have Randy Moss sitting in the front row of every meeting.

49ers? Doubtful.

Randy Moss upcoming disaster + Alex Smith returning to the mean + Sophmore coach = back to 8-8.
