Damn...I just wrote a long response and was about to send it when poof...I was transferred to the sign in page....not writing it again....

to paraphrase:
New coach we get is going to be 60-40 pass to run at best.

Several SB winning teams of late were 65-35 including NO, NYG, NE and GB....did they use that as an excuse for their QBs??

Have posted many times about Reids various foibles. Time for him to move on....but if I have to choose who is most at fault for this year's mess (and it is a mess, we should be 1-5 I'll take shitty QB (and honestly who may be the worst QB in the entire league right now....ok he's better than Gabbert, Palmer, Skelton and ummm and...ok that's about it) over the most sccessful coach in franchise history any day.

ok vinnie...,. so what you are saying is that the eagles basically throw it 7 out of 10 times.... and this negates my point how? Because other teams (mostly the losing ones) do this too?

also.... it has been shown then when the Birds DO run.... they lead the league in going nowhere. So teams Dont fear our run game at all.

Also..... teams dont really need to send the blitz often because a 4 man rush is MORE than enough to get to vick.

Heres the reality... and i know it hurts your theory about Vick deserves ALL the blame ALL the time....
                     1. This same throw throw throw all pressure on the QB crap happened here before with McNabb.
                      2. Andy has been a 70% passing coach in ALL situations for EVER,
                       3. Our Oline is as bad as it has ever been.
                       4. Our WR's are down field type guys... they need time and space.
                        5. Our QB is a QB who needs time and space to do his thing. (i never wanted that "thing" to be here but i have seen it CAN work)

All of this equals a problem. Listen, im fine with the fact that Vick is gone next year... i never wanted him in the first place..... but Vick has not been here for 14 years...... he wasnt around when we were screaming for a WR.... ANY wr. You can spew your Vick hate ALL you want but teams know that we are going to throw it ALL DAY. When its the end of the game and we have a 10 point lead and need to run the clock.... we will throw. When its 3 and 1 and we have one of the best RB's in the game..... we will throw. When we are at mid field and driving the ball...... the best we can expect is a end around by jackson...... or a latteral from Brown.... because Andy is smarter than all the other coaches.

I have been done with this coach since the NFC champ cards game when we drove the ball down the field and scored late in the game to go on top. We watched the D fold..... like it always does now.

We need a coach is is better than "average".

No they don't....you're counting rushes vs pass atts. But you can't look at that. Instead, look at called passes (attempts + sacks + QB scrambles) vs called rb runs....then you get....

SF 234 pass 194 rush or 55% pass....45% rush
Hou 240 pass 238 rush....basically 50 50

But then please remember that both these teams have had huge leads in the 2nd half of their games playing pathetic teams like the Bills 45-3, Jets 34-0, Jax 27-7, Mia 30-10 etc.....easy to run a lot vs JV squads....

You will notice, if you actually did any research, that in their tight games, or games against superior opponents....both the 49ers and Texans were very close to the 65/35 ratio.....
ex Houston vs GB 42 passes 27 runs or 61%pass 39%run
ex SF vs Min 40 passes to 23 runs or 63%pass 37% run
ex sf vs NYG 44 passes 13 runs or 77% pass 23% run

Eagles have been in plenty of close games. And have 3 againt good opponents...thus more passes...like every other team in the same situation...

funny also, that you bring up the "first place teams" you fail to mention other "first place teams" like....

NYG 282 pass 171 run.....or 62% pass 38% run
ATL 262 pass 124 runs....or 68% pass 32% run (just like the birds!!)

Or screwed by the refs and about to be first place teams like
GB 312 pass 143 runs....or 69%pass 31 %run

Or even traditional power rushing teams like the Steelers
256 pass 147 rush......or 64% pass 36% run

Again, the Eagles are pretty close to most of these teams....close to most of the teams in the league. The premise put forward by Stevo that the turnovers happen because the Eagles pass 65% of the game. That's BS.

Everyone throws 65% of the time nowadays. Find a QB who can handle that or lose. End of story.

Next time you might want to do some research on your own before you go asking me to......and keep in mind I've forgotten more about the game than you've even seen.

And now...cue another Vickpologist stating....."well, its not that the eagles call so many passes, its the TYPE of passes they call. Always asking for 7 step slow developing blah blah incorrct incorrect blah blah...."

"when a team knows you are throwing on just about every down…"

Garbage.

NFl average: 64% called passes 36% called runs
Eagles average 68% called passes 32% called runs

Eagles have run 428 plays total this year. Of those 137 have been runs and 291 have been passes.

If they went to the league average, they'd have called 154 runs and 274 passes.

Divide by 6

We're talking about is 3 more rushes and 3 less passes each game to get to what the rest of the league is doing.

Do you really think calling 3 more runs and 3 less passes a game is going to change things??????

Teams throw in today's NFL. You need a good QB to win.

We don't.

It looks like the eagles are a 8-8 team again with a massive need for linemen DT, OT and OG in the draft
Bell, Patterson, & Vick will most likely be cap casualties maybe Mathis -- Asmo & Graham have another year of guarantee money so they will be back --- Maclin might be on the trade market before draft ( with the money spent this off season on WR, I think he easily gets more than the Eagles will want to spend in the 2014 off season
