Didinger: “Wouldn’t be surprised if Eagles target Arizona QB Matt Scott”

MattScott2CSNPhilly’s Ray Didinger believes Arizona quarterback Mike Scott is going to move up draft boards between now and the draft. The Hall of Fame NFL writer was able to study video of Scott and he’s growing more and more impressed with what he sees in the young man.

“Teams are starting to see similar qualities in Scott that they saw in Russell Wilson a year ago, Didinger told myself and NBC-10’s John Clark after we did Sports Final yesterday.  We all know how Wilson blossomed for Seattle Seahawks a year ago after he was selected in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles target Scott when we get to the draft in April”, Didinger said.  “He’ll probably be around in the third round”.

Scott had his Pro Day last week in front of about 25 NFL coaches and scouts.  He threw 85 passes.

Didinger emphasized Scott’s strong throwing arm, his athleticism and his poise.

The Eagles are supposed to talk to Scott today and they have a private workout scheduled with him in the near future.

Looks like someone in midnight green is curious about Geno Smith! Don’t sleep on this. The same people (Kiper, McShay and Mayock) voiced their concerns about Russell Wilson. Now, he the toast of Seattle and the league. It’s a new day, thanks to innovators, Harbaugh, Carroll, and now Kelly. Until some defensive whiz comes up with a way to defense the “pilot”, mobile, accurate quaterbacks will be the trend.

I’m not saying Maclin is worth a 2, nor have I ever…But Bolden and Maclin stats were similar from this previous season, in fact you can argue Maclin had a better season. Maclin 2013 salary is half that of Boldens, which I believe would equate to better than a 6th rounder for Maclin.

HAc, its all about leverage. Everyone knew the Ravens couldn’t pay Boldin. Cole and Maclin are a different story since the Eagles have all the cap in the world to work with.

hac, Boldin, is 32 years old, is a possession receiver, with no speed, who wouldn’t take a pay cut. Maclin is 24 years old, with speed, with still some upside. Harvin got traded to Seattle for a 1st & 6th this year, & a conditional mid-rounder next year, so the value is in the eye of the beholder. Don’t be surprised, if Min takes a run at Maclin, with their 2nd rounder, now that they have an extra 1st. They now need a younger receiver, to go along with Ponder.

What an epic stupid post. The only trend I see are pocket passers winning Super Bowls every year, including this year. This “pilot” offense has won absolutely nothing in this league so what in the hell are you talking about. In fact, the Ravens defense did find a way to stop its effectiveness by blitzing in the redzone. The Niners were terrible in the redzone in that SB because of this esp on the last drive. They literally blitzed the entire defense at Kap and forced him to throw down in the redzone and it cost the Niners the game. So yea before people start calling this shit a trend shouldn’t it actually win something first? All I see is that statue Flacco counting his millions for winning that Superbowl.

And Geno Smith is considered a pocket passer not a running QB.
And the comparison to Russell Wilson is stupid. Nobody doubted Wilson’s talent. People knew he had NFL talent. It was all about his height. On the other hand, Geno Smith has questions about whether or not he has actual NFL talent coming from the offense he plays in. Further, after watching him stink it up against the freaking syracuse defense with weeks to prepare no way in hell is he worthy of the top 4 pick.

Biglion, thats exactly what I was thinking when I heard about the Geno workout today. Would Geno be a good pick in the mid-late 1st round probably so. But at 4 overall? Hell No. I think they did this workout for trading reasons. I feel like they are doing everything possible to trade back in the first for more picks (which they should be)…If you pick at 4 you have to take a sure thing. NO prjects, no questions marks…we don’t have that luxury. If you pick at 4 the pick should be Warmack, Fisher, or Joeckell. end of story.

And think about it, if the Eagles were really interested in drafting Geno at 4, why would they let this workout become public? We know how the Eagles do business and going public is not their style.

Chip Kelly can’t decide on a qb, can’t decide on Nnamdi, vacillated on Vick, his decision process on the qb is all I need to know about him, he had a bona fide starter, prospect in foles, but he’s signed practice squad , arena players for competition, his latest is foles back up , this guy Kelly has no idea what he’s doing

I know how a leader, a man operates, he doesn’t bring in a laundry list of players to compete at the most important position on the team, its a competition, maybe among, two, no more, he also quickly figures out who goes, who stays, maybe you have never lead , maybe you have agenda stevo, but you have no clue

**Panthers Release 4 Year Starting OLB James Anderson (6-2 235lbs) due to their Salary Cap Crunch.. Anderson is a very underrated OLB, excellent in Pass Coverages, Good Tackler, Healthy and only 29 Years old.. He would be a nice Pick-up for any Team needing an OLB, can also Play Special Teams and can be signed at a relatively reasonable Salary plus he’s a good locker room guy with no off the field baggage, a true professional..
