Michael Vick And Nick Foles Start Out Splitting The 1st Team SnapsBREAKING NEWS, Eagles, News, Quarterbacks Tuesday, April 16th, 2013
The Eagles are practicing and Chip Kelly has got the Eagles players executing his uptempo offense and high repetition practices. Michael Vick and Nick Foles split the snaps with the first team and Dennis Dixon even got the chance to get some reps. Kelly says it’s no big deal right now, but everybody is trying to read every slight gesture for an idea of which quarterback has the advantage at winning the starting quarterback job.
“There wasn’t one set guy that just went with the ones the entire day,” Kelly said. “All those guys got an opportunity to roll through.”
Kelly is eager to give his players as many reps as possible to get a chance to learn his system. Football is played on muscle memory, that’s why coaches emphasize the repetition part of the practices because that when the coach trains the team and the players train their bodies.
Kelly is anxious about getting the process started and utilizing every second he can to allow his players to work because practice time is much more limited now than it was in the past.
“I don’t care who is in with the ones, who’s in with the twos, we just got to make sure we got 11,” Kelly said. “Let’s roll and let’s get reps and let’s get some film that we can teach off of.”
