ESPN: Robert Griffin III Will Start In Week One Against The Eagles

RobertGriffinIIIAccording to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will start for Washington in week one of the 2013 season on Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.  Griffin III has not gotten the thumbs up from Dr. James Andrews, who performed the surgery  on the knee of the gifted quarterback, but Andrews is expected to give him a green light.

Throughout the entire offseason, there has been speculation about how soon the young quarterback would be able to return from his knee surgery.  Andrews has been giving Griffin III amazingly positive feedbacks after examining his knee.  According to Andrews, the Redskins quarterback has been well ahead of schedule throughout the entire recuperation process.

He has been working extremely hard and because of it, he will start in week one.

If they want to rush him back, then we must break him. Blitz city baby lets test that knee.

In all honesty the Eagles should be ready for him. The’ve been chasing Vick around all preseason. The flip is true too… the Skins will be ready for Vick. My hope is that Vick will be used as a decoy and they run run run on the skins all day. Also… i think we need to see Vick hit Djax early. Blitz Blitz Blitz RG3 and lets see if he is truly ready. If we hurt him (and i dont want to see that anymore than Vinnie wants Vick hurt) teams could fear us again.

I ha the Eagles winning the Redskins game now I’m not so sure. Everybody forgets how good a passer RG3 is. On top of his arm he makes great decisions with the football. What also worries me is the fact that now it guarantee’s a healthy dose of the run game which I’m almost certain the birds cannot handle. If the Eagles offense doesn’t come out hot this could be a long game. On the flip side RG3 could be rusty and make for a easy Birds victory. I hope the latter is true.

I am surprised that Redskins are going to play him in Week #1,
Come come back to haunt Shanahan & Redskins, I guess If back-up Cousins didn’t get injured, we would have seen him Startand a lot of RB Alferd Morris and Ray Helu against this Struggling Eagle Defense which has not stopped anyone Rushing the ball during the Preseason.. (maybe the Panthers whose OL Stinks) but Pats & Jags were gashing thru the front 7 in both 1st halves with mostly Starters/Key Back-ups playing in both games
The Redksins OFfense all summer has been run by COusins/Grossman so tho say the Redskins Defense is up to speed on an athletic, running QB like Vick is not really accurate… RGIII has thrown balls, worked 7-7 Passing, but not a full Speed since he’s been rehabbing ..

It’s not the redskins, he wants to play, give him respect for that, but it is a dumbass move

I do not wish a knee injury on anyone, having played college football and witnessed my teammates writhe in pain with a busted knee, it’s way worse than a concussion, at least with a concussion you are out and don’t feel pain

I hope he sux, he’s not a great qb yet, he’s got tools, but he’s going to be rusty, I hope the birds get to him without fucking up his knees.

“It’s not the redskins…”

It is the redskins. It’s a dumb ass move to play your stud QB not even a year after an LCL/ACL tear. DUMB.

But the Redskins could give a fuck ’cause they drafted a guy who could be a starter as his backup – so he goes down, they replace him with the next guy.

Now with that said RG3 is dumb. His arrogance may cost him his career. I think the people around him are dumb too (or maybe he’s just not listening) if no one is telling him to sit down and out at the very least until the middle of October to make sure he really is 100%.

Wait a sec your calling RG3 dumb and arrogant?? If the Dr says he is fit to play he should play. Adrian played last year, so why not RG3? It’s a risk, but so was Adrian’s injury. THe last thing I would call RG3 is stupid, he proved last year he can beat defenses with his arm as well as his legs without being a turnover machine. From everything I have seen RG3 has busted his tail to get back in shape and on time, he’s been humble and said and done the right thing. I really have found nothing arogant or stupid about him. If the dr says he is fine and he isn’t showing any signs of the injury start him. It’s not like last year where he couldnt even walk and they started him. I think RG3 is smart enough to slide, protect himself from blitzes and not turn over the ball. I can’t tell the future but his looks very bright.

You did very good man, let me tell you this the draft is just the beginning. Any guy on here will tell you pay attention to you bye weeks, suspensions, injuries etc. Also keep your eye on the waiver wire and free agency. It’s a must to always try to improve your team throught the season. Injuries will occur, so be aware and good luck man.

For your first time you did really well. Is your league using a flex? If it is you have 3 RBs you should feel good playing on week-to-week basis. If it isn’t you have a good trade chip in your pocket based with either Johnson or Benard at RB. Your receiver position is the weak point of your team, lots of inconsistency from your top 3.

As mentioned already the draft is just the first part of it all. Pay attention to the waiver wire as that will help your team out just as much as a strong draft. Good luck!
