Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III did a conference call with the Philadelphia media this morning and although this will be his first game since having knee surgery, he’s just as confident as ever. The former Baylor star doesn’t plan on changing anything about his game as he and his teammates get ready to play the Eagles on Monday night.
“My mindset is that it will come right back immediately”, Griffin replied to a question about whether he would be able play at a high level in his first game back in action. “You always have to prepare as if you were never gone, so game day is just another game, you have fun and you trust your preparation”.
Griffin says he’s not going to be hesitant about running with the football saying, “It always adds another dimension to the offense”.
One of the reporters asked him about how he will react to a defense trying to target and pound him on the read option whether he has the football or not.
“I don’t know what to expect from defenses. They are always going to try to throw something special at you, but you’ve got to be careful when you talk about targeting quarterbacks because that sounds a whole lot like a bounty to me.”
I don’t think you have to have a bounty on anybody if you start hitting the quarterback when he’s handing or faking the ball to the running back. How is a defender supposed to know whether the quarterback has the football or not?
I’ll be interested in seeing if the defenders tackle the quarterbacks on the read option. And if they tackle the quarterbacks on the play, will the referees call a penalty for the hit.
The Eagles run defense looked suspect during the preseason, so you know the Redskins are going to run the football early and often, since they’re a running team any way. The Birds players will need to focus on playing their specific hole and responsibility. They were undisciplined in the New England preseason game and they got shredded. If they play that way against the Skins, Alfred Morris and Washington running backs will run for 300 yards.
The Birds offense will probably be playing under the pressure to put plenty of points on the board because I see the Eagles defense struggling to stop the Skins offense.
I wonder if Songs will be wearing his RGIII Jersey under his MV7 Jersey Monday Night… Anyone (besides Henski) want to make a Bet…
I may want some action on that…..but bets on here generally don’t turn out too well!
I would guess that he will be wearing the jersey of whichever does best and is winning…just like the bandwagon, frontrunning fraud of a fan that he is.
And his RGIII jersey is over his Wilson jersey, & that is over his Kapernick jersey!

I really think we will be better than people think. The defense will play harder and hungrier than that so called talented “dream team defense”. Chip will not hesitate to sit players something Reid gave too much rope and cushion on.

armyprince No doubt we can only look up from here and i rather be under the radar and not expected to do anything thats when teams show who they are and i believe the Eagles will show who they are because they believe in chip an want to prove it.

Mentally – knee injuries (like RG3 had) affect people differently. Some guys play like it never happened. Other guys play a little tentatively. Even though the knee might be healed they are cautious in their movements.
RG3 don’t know how he is going to react until he has somebody coming at him with malice. They don’t allow that in practice.
Exactly Drink!! This team wants to perform for Chip. They feel energized. I think they love this offense and defensive scheme and wanna show it. We till surprise some people on Monday. I won’t be one of them. I like this team. I believe we will open some Eyes.
