Was Vick Being Too Forthcoming About His Injury?

MichaelVick1Something is not being spoken. Vick has stated that he is not ready to play due to injury. Why would Vick make such a declaration with all that has transpired over the last six quarters?

Last year on his contract, not getting any younger, I’m having difficulty absorbing this message as words only portrayed by Vick. He may not be able to run like he wants to, or is it that he feels like he needs to be able to run because he can’t win as a pocket passer.

There has to be more, someone or several people have met and discussed with Michael that the team wants to see another week of Foles. Vick has been convinced that nobody will question his will or determination, and the injury is justifiable. Vick’s statement yesterday felt political to me, the timing was off. Vick appeared differently to me when relaying it to the media.

I’ve witnessed Vick in severe pain, stagger around the battlefield like a warrior determined to defeat his enemy. Vick has been straight forward during his tenure with the Eagles both as a player and throughout his rehabilitation as a human being off the field.

There is something about the way Vick delivered the message about the injury. I can’t pinpoint if it was the look in his eyes, or the way his words were spoken. Maybe it’s just me, but maybe others had that same awkward gut feeling that I received.

I look at how the Cowboys play defense, blitzing only 20% of the time and playing a modified version of a cover 2. They could be without the services of Ware, and their secondary was torched by Manning two weeks ago.

This game is against the Dallas Cowboys, Michael is aware of the rivalry. Vick knows how long it’s been since the Eagles last won a home game. He was also the man who helped lead our team to victory over a year ago at Lincoln Financial Field.

With all that is on the line, with the matchup being favorable for Vick even with the injury; why come out and declare himself ineligible to play on a Tuesday? Who got in your ear Michael? Are you just being a good teammate and putting the team in the best situation to win?

I know you have matured and I appreciate that, but there is something that you are not telling us.

I stated last week that his upper thigh pull is more severe
Than many thought and that it could be a good 2-3 Week rehab time
Before getting to 90-100% health..
He is provably playing it safe, dince the Team and Foles are playing well without him thus far and have Won back to back Games for the first time in over a year.. He is going to do right and say the right things for the Team that has given him his last opportunity to play and pay for his services..
Maybe the fire has gone lower in his belly, maybe there is another injury going on that we don’t know about or maybe Coach Kelky told him to put his good teammate face on and to fall in line for Foles and the Team sake..
This will play out by next week after this Cowboy game based on how the steam and Foles plays and of course how Vick feel’s..
Then the difficult decision will need to be made about Vick’s status as the Starter moving forward, when The Team is winning, it’s easy to keep these type of things quiet for everyone is upbeat on the task at hand, when Teams are losing and players aren’t playing, then things and locker from can get ugly
If Eagłes beat Dalkas and grab 1st Place by themselves with Foles leading them to their 3rd Win a row, it would be very difficult to go back to Vick, regardless of his heatlthy.. All along, Coach Kelly has said numerous times that he’s in this to Win now and how can then go back against a QB who has led your Team to 3 Wins in a row and First Place in the NFC East..
The Torch is being handed to Foles and this week and game will determine the fate and playing status of Vick for not only this Season but for his Career as well..

Vick is just too fragile – entertaining because every big play has an equal and opposite turnover sack play but can’t trust his weak body as a starter. Father time is knocking, I mean pounding on his door

Burfict went to a Perfect Situation with Defensive Minded HC Lewis and DC David Zimmer and some Veterans who took Burfict under their wings to keep him on the straight and narrow and Burfict has stepped up and embraced the challenged ..
If he came to Philly which was very undiscplined the las tcouple of Seasons under Coach AR, had 3-4-5 differenct Voices on the Defensivle Side of the ball with very little Leadership he probably would have fallen back into his troubles ways…
No one ever doubted Vontaze Burfict Talent and Abilitiy, but many times, it comes down to getting on the right Team at the Right time for PLayers to shine and my hat’s off to Burfict for he has proven me wrong big time, but I do believe that the Bengals Situation was one of the few Teams he could have went to and succeeded both on and off the Field.. Philly Media would have been hounding this guy about his past all the time..

No question E0S, Fraudsongs did get that one right. I don’t know if he would have had the same success here, given the questionable coaching that we have had on the defensive side, but there is no doubt that every team in the league made the same mistake seeing that he went undrafted. If you watch “HardKnocks” on HBO at all you can see that Lewis has taken the kid under his wing and they pay very close attention to his attitude and actions on and off the field. He is a good player, and songs was one of his most vocal supporters, no doubt.

LaDainian Tomlinson and Deuce McAllister, and all the RBs from Vick’s draft year are in retirement from the beatings they took.

At Vick’s age it was foolhardy to think that he could increase his rushing attempts. It was time for him to transform into a pocket passer – instead Kelly took him in the other direction and Vick went along.

That being said, I still think he will get his job back when he’s healthy. I don’t know that he will keep it very long.

Huh?

Vick is injured. He’s bummed that he’s injured and can’t play. And it’s likely worse than he previously thought. This is a guy who will play hurt…but that isn’t a good thing, for him or the team. There’s no Orwellian mystery to it. He’s a competitor. He wants to play. And he’s bummed that he can’t. Simple.

Last week it was, “I can play if I have to”

Then Foles goes out an plays like only Vick can dream of.

And suddenly he can’t play. As I said right after the game, look for thi injury to linger ( like the concussion last year) for a long time now.

Happens with many vets. It’s the “saving face” injury. Better than just announcing “whoops-made a mistake, the kid is a lot better than our superstar”

Makes the transition easier. Less embarrassing for everyone involved, especially ole Ronny Mexico

Vicks last great game ? Washington on a Monday night years ago.vicks career is in the rear view mirror, this is a what have you done for me now? League.last year to be fair ,he had no offensive line ,but he did have maclin ,a sleepwalker in Djax,a coach with one foot out the door and a genius at offensive coordinator..let lying dogs lie….the guy rehabilitated himself ,has effectively been paid millions ,and now he must subjugate his role to a young gun who stands 6ft 6 ,who seemingly surveys, the entire field ..he hit I believe 8different receivers, that alone is a testimonial to his awareness of the complete offense.Chip would prefer a running option signal caller ,but he to must yield to conform to what he has …nick foles beat his ass at Arizona ,RESPECT ..let us all than Vick for the highlights ,but let’s be real ,the future is today. No matter what happens if foles proves he’s the guy ,we can concentrate on the defensive side of the ball in the draft,If he’s grading out weekly ,ad getting a freaking win at home ,last time that happened we all had darker hair on our heads and more of it…let the controversy be put to rest ..Vicks play vs nicks play is as much a contrast as the results on the field .Foles takes care of the ball ,doesn’t take massive kill shots and you can mark him as a dependable work in progress..his best is yet to come …beat the stinking cowgirls ,and mike who? Will be the norm.

Let’s make this clear….I’m an Eagles fan and will always point to why we can’t win a championship, until we win one.

Right now, Foles have done nothing to show he’s a player in this league and when he got the opportunity last year he failed.

Now, we’re in the same place with everyone claiming he’s the next Brady after beating a pathetic, winless Bucs team.

Last I check the Giants and Bucs are winless, so I’m not buying it. He even came in the game when Vick went down and lost a two score lead before rallying against the Giants.

This Cowboys game will give me what I need to see.

If he make the Cowboys look like the Bucs or Giants then I’ll be the first to say he should stay over Vick, but if he stinks and the Cowgirls come in our house and totally embarrass the team then I don’t want to hear a damn thing about Foles going forward.

So, I’ll hold my thoughts until reality hits this Sunday.

No one could move his fat ass, both teams tried, trent cole blew out his back trying to help his coach, now almost in full cardiac arrest, so they called in special forces via air command, cut him free, and air lifted him by army black hawk out of the Linc accompanied by thunderous ovation, Andy lying prone on the elephant stretcher and giving the crowd the thumb’s up as he was whisked into the air

No one ever heard from Reid again, but was spotted eating barbecue somewhere in Kansas city

That’s how paulman reported it, and indeed he got it right, good job paulman

And reidcwas last spotted eating barbecue in Kansas

I though I read some stupid stuff on here, but to suggest that foles hasn’t shown anything is beyond ignorant, criticizing him for giving up the lead in the giants gam, thats about as stupid as it gets, criticizing his arm strength , all nonsense, stupidity, divisiveness, agenda

Everyone should follow the example set by Foles and Vick at their joint press conference, the mutual respect, admiration is real, palpable, and it should put an end to this overvthevtop Vick bashing

Vick has done everything the eagles expected of him, except win, play the position on a consistent position, not for lack of effort, he’s just not that good

Songs, as probably your last and only friend on this site, I am directing you to stfu , stop with bias, agenda, anger, you are better than that

Songs is funny. I enjoy reading his posts. So what if he prefers to see black people succeed more than white people in sports. Songs isn’t suppressing anyone’s pursuit of happiness here.

Seriously. What happened to cheering THE EAGLES!!! I can’t believe a name in the back is dividing the fan base. I don’t care who is the QB. I just wanna win. Stop being so damn negative. Because guess what? If Foles get hurt lord forbid. Vick will be right back in. You gonna boo the birds? I don’t think so. So STFU BEAT DALLAS AND ENJOY THE RIDE

Foles and Vick look like lovers. Ive never seen a press conference with so much love.lol. All the love in that room was nauseating. Then when Foles put his arm around Vick and Vick said we will do press conferences together from now on was very curious. To top it off it looked like Foles was the Alpha in the relationship. SMH. But all joking aside we are behind you Nick! Its your team now lets get it!

lmao @ Songs being called a troll.

What do you little bitches who turn every thread into a referedum about Vick think you are? You bitches start these threads; repeat ad nauseum how horrible Vick is -whether a player or person-; then when another fan calls you on this obsessive derangement you call them Vick lovers/apologist. Newsflash!! The so called apologist opinions of Vick are in line with the new coach who made it clear he wanted him. This new coach held an open competition and when Foles failed to when it you simpletons double-downed on your demented obsession.

I’m convinced that if Vick comes back and continues his success, many of you will lose what little minds you have left. How the fuck has DEFLECTING obsessive hatred become a lover or apologist is some serious propaganda.
And as long as the resident ALL MY POST ARE BITCHING ABOUT VICK bet welcher Vinnie is still welcome by you bitches; you can go fuck yourselves.

lol. Dead on. Ive been crying about FS’s, CB’s LB’s and a need for a new coach on this site for 5 years and its always drowned out by cries of qb.. qb.. qb..

I was Fine with McNabb, Fine with Vick, Not fine with noodle arm Dallas fan (although I tried for like 2 weeks) and Im fine with Foles… because in the end… it doesnt matter if we cant get a D to stop the other team.

The losers on this site cried that Vick cant stop turning the ball over… poof…. we use the run game and boom…. it got better.

Vinnie lost a bet….. because he’s dumb… and you guys wave pom poms for him as your champion. Stupid stupid people. I miss the days when we talked about football.
