Fantasy Football Week 6: Start/Sit

Phillip Rivers, Billy Volek, JT O'SullivanQB

Bench’emMatt Stafford-Without his main receiving threat, Stafford is not a great play on the road.  For the owners who drafted him as a top 5 QB(me included), it has been a disappointing FF season so far.

Trust’em- Rivers-Last year was the real-deal, and he is doing it again.  Rivers has rewarded owners who waited until the later rounds with top 3 QB production.

Bust of the weekCam Newton –He was decent last week, but the Bengals are coming off of a nationally televised thumping to the Patriots, their defense at home is going to step their game up.

Surprise of the weekARI QB- whoever starts between Stanton/Palmer will enjoy the flaws in the Redskins secondary.

RB

Bench’em– Any running backs from the following teams-CAR, JAX, TB, OAK, STL, NYJ.  These teams are either rotating backs with unpredictability, or will fall behind in their match-ups early, and provide little production for owners.

Trust’emB. Tate (vs Pitt), Oliver (at OAK), Williams (at PHI), Forsett (BAL), F. Jackson (vs NE).  Oliver looked really good last week, and with Brown looking marginal and sustaining a concussion, Woodhead out for the season and Matthews injury history, the Chargers could be highly dependent on this rookie for the rest of the 2014 season.

Bust of the weekR. Hillman (at NYJ)- One of the biggest waiver wire names to be signed this week after the groin injury by Ball, Hillman may rack up 66-70 total yards, but the Broncos will be scoring via the pass this week.

Surprise of the weekShane Vereen (at BUFF)- Where has this guy gone? Drafted by most as a RB2, he has been a no show for the most part this season, which thanks to the guy calling the shots in New England, is going to be a headache all season long.  I like Vereen this week to be used heavily out of the backfield, 8 receptions for 70 yards, 115 total yards and a score.

WR

Bench’em- C. Patterson (vs DET), K. Benjamin (at CINCY), T. Williams (at SEA).  One of these three could have a big play for a score, but they are all facing teams coming off a loss or in the case of T. Williams, heading on the road, and visiting the loudest and most difficult stadium in the entire league.

Trust’em- Larry Fitzgerald (vs WASH), M. Sanu (vs CAR), Eddie Royal (at OAK), J. Hunter (vs JAX)

Bust of the weekPierre Garcon (at ARI)-still with only one great game this season (vs Philly), he has the talent, but facing a tough secondary that was embarrassed in Denver last week.

Surprise of the weekAlshon Jeffrey (at ATL) – he has yet to have one of those monster games that moved his 2014 draft position into the top 10.  With Marshall nursing an injury that will probably bother him throughout the remainder of the season, I like Jeffrey to step up with a 10 catch performance on the quick turf surface in Atlanta.

TE

Bench’em- Clay (vs GB), Witten (at SEA), Cook (vs SF)-  All three mentioned will be used to help block with the pass rush coming at their QB.

Trust’emGates (at OAK), Paul (at ARI), Walker (vs JAX)- Nice match-ups across the board, as tight-ends late to undrafted this FF season, continue to provide value on almost a weekly basis.

Bust of the weekGronkowski (at BUFF)- He has a big game last week, which should equate to him being marginal this week.

Surprise of the weekEric Ebron (at MINN)- Breakout time for the rookie, he will show why the Lions took him so high in the first round.

DEF/ST

TENN will turn in a top 10 finish this week.

Dallas looking more and more like the team to beat in the NFC East.

Still early in the game though.

We will see how tonight plays out.

As I stated 2 weeks ago TS…
The Cowboys are the most physical Offensive Team in the NFC East
and swarm to the ball of Defense with a bunch if young Players trying to make a name for themselves..
Smartest move for them was relegating Bill
Callahan to strictly be the OL Coach, which he’s one of the best
And bring in Scott Linehan to work with Romo
Whether they go on to win or lose to Seahawks, they are Team to be reckoned with down the stretch, barring injuries

It’s a pattern of jerry jones face ,being frozen in a frown as the thermometer drops..for sure …Dallas special teams ,playing like shit …desean has beaten cards secondary (been shit all year ) for two touches 106 and a td ..the nfl won’t take shape until the turkey is passed around the table ..
Hoping the birds are the most appealing with all there guys back by then

Dallas is finally playing to its talent level. They’ve been injury free. And giving the ball to Murray and keeping it out of Romos hands 30-40x a game.

Key for them is injuries and their brutal schedule at the end of the year.

I didn’t like they 2nd down Call for the Sweep Left,
That’s just too slow of a developing running play to call when in the. Red Zone where LB and Secondary Defenders are all playing closer to the live if Scrimmage.. It’s not a bad play design, but just not the right place on the field to run wide..

Nice stand and a break with Giants Penalty negating a TD and then Cruz tripping who was open for a TD on the 4th Down
Not to change gears, but the Field at the Linc looks like shit and Players have been losing their footing all game long on both side what’s the deal..
