Eagles Must Prepare For Deep Cardinals Offense

Larrry FitzgeraldThe Arizona Cardinals have a variety of weapons at their disposal which will make it challenging for them to come away with a win on Sunday.

Running back Andre Ellington is emerging as the heart and soul of this offense. Ellington is electric running back, capable of taking it to the house any time he touches the ball. He’s only found the endzone twice this season, but he racks up a considerable amount of yards as a runner and receiver every week. He’s the engine that powers this offense and helps the Cardinals get from one end of the field to the other. He’s picked up at least 80 yards from scrimmage in five of the team’s six games.

Wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd are going to be challenging for the Eagles to stop. Fitzgerald has been having one of his worst statistical seasons as a pro, with just one touchdown in six games and he’s surpassed the 60-yard mark just once. He’s played most of the year without Carson Palmer, but he’s not making as much of an impact as he had in the past. That being said, it would be foolish to underestimate him. Fitzgerald has had some of his best games against the Eagles, and their suspect secondary could be just what he needs to snap out of his funk.

Floyd is solid young receiver who is starting to discover his potential in this league. Floyd has two 100-yard games and has scored in two straight games.

Arizona also has a couple of nice role players that have been contributing.

Third receiver Josh Brown has been a reliable target, and has converted a number of third downs for this offense and also leads the team with three touchdowns.

Running back Stefan Taylor has stepped up as the team’s short yardage back, and scored a couple of redzone touchdowns last week against Oakland.

The key to this offense though, is Carson Palmer. When the veteran quarterback is on top of his game, the offense can run at a very high level of efficiency. When he’s off, he can be a turnover machine. In last year’s game against the Eagles, Palmer committed several key turnovers that helped the Eagles pull of a victory.

Are we going to do this every week Denny? They are not the packers. And even they have flaws. Every week is not doom and gloom. And I think we match up well. They o line has been suspect since Warner was there. Get pressure Palmer throws us gifts.

I don’t know lol but maybe you’re right. I’m not saying paint roses. But sheesh every week we have no chance blah blah blah. I respect all fear none. I really think that the Eagles beat themselves at times. I think they can play with anybody when focused and playing mistake free football. Starting Sunday they can shut more critics up playing good football. Then next week Denny can write about how the Texans are a juggernaut and will kick out butts lol

Andre Ellington is the heart and soul of this offense that is statistically one of the worst in the league. I know that Carson Palmer has only been back a week, and they have some talented players, but let’s not go crazy here.

Larry Fitzgerald owns the Eagles. I still remember John Skelton finding him all day. Fitz for vs Cary with Nate Allen bumping into him….ugggh
