Outlining Defensive Secondary Changes For The Eagles

CaryWilliams21The role of a general manager

Does the eventual general manager even matter for who calls the shots with this Eagles team?  I’m not sure what roles the GM to be will play, if he will merely be a name we stumble to forget or if he will play a role in the draft, free agency, etc.   Chip is an “offensive-minded” coach; he would benefit greatly with another opinion for free agents and draft prospects that can improve this defense.

Improve the defensive “coaching?”

Bradley Fletcher, week after week we watched him fail, and yet the defensive coach left him in.  Some would argue that the coach who left him in several weeks overdue should be given his walking papers but I think if Billy Davis were going to get fired, it probably would have already happened.  Forget the below average talent in the secondary for a second; the coach himself did very little from a strategic point.  Williams and Fletcher couldn’t be instructed through film sessions to actually turn their head around when the football was in the air?  How can we be so sure that even through upgrades in free agency and the draft, Davis will modify the game plan or make the in game adjustments that we have yet to see?

Roster Cuts-I’m perfectly fine starting over, getting rid of Fletcher, Williams, Carroll.  All three may have the size that Chip likes, but their speed was not enough to keep up with the wide receivers.

Free Agency Class

CB/S-The Eagles need to spend their money “wisely” on the “correct” players.  We really don’t know what we have with Watkins and Boykin continues to a “slot” only player.  Revis is not coming to Philly. I think cornerback Maxwell out of Seattle is going to get overpaid because he is coming from the Seahawks organization.

There are some players you or I may like, but the measurements for what Chip is looking for at 6’ and close to 200 pounds, guys like Kareem Jackson from Houston will probably be labeled as a guy who doesn’t “fit” the system.  There are several “free safeties” available, but with the role Jenkins plays; the Eagles really need a strong safety.   I also feel the Eagles will go a similar route when they signed Williams and Fletcher, avoid bidding wars with the top named guys, and focus on the next tier.

When I look at the upcoming draft, I see guys who could add depth as prospects, but none that stand out as “starters.”  Free agency will be the “quickest” and “best” path to get this secondary in shape.

Sign a minimum of two cornerbacks and one strong safety.  Draft “value” and not reach for a cornerback or safety in the 2015 draft which is not “loaded” with talent.

Cornerback

Culliver(SF)could take the spot left by Fletcher, he measures in at 6’ and almost 200 pounds, born in Philadelphia and had a nice season last year.

Davon House(GB) has done well in Green Bay when asked to fill in as starter, good speed and very athletic.

Alan Ball(JAX)-yes he is coming from the Jaguars, but he has spent the last two years under the tutelage of Gus Bradley and has really good height to help with the taller WR’s.

Strong Safety

Searcy(BUF)-I felt that there was a chance that the Bills would resign Searcy, but with the hiring of head coach Rex Ryan, I see Searcy staying put, very disappointing as I felt he would have been a great compliment to Jenkins.

Parker (KC)- Good combination of size and speed, solid against the run and able to hold his own in the passing game.

Wilson (TENN)– a ten year veteran, he could be a cheap stop gap for the 2015 season, until a possible strong safety this year is ready or for when a bigger free agency signing is made in 2016.

***EAGLES NEWS!!!***
Denver DB Coach Cory Undlin has been hired by the Philadelphia Eagles to the same position

Confirmed by my source

My thoughts: Big Big Big hire. The Eagles recognized their weakest position on the entire roster and are attacking it taking corrective measures to finally FIX IT

This was a huuuge move. If this is Chips 1st move as head of personnel, I take my hat off to him

Now they need to sign a FA corner or two and draft two corners. (I’ve been saying this for the past 2 years my god!)

They also have to draft 1 playmaking safety and that secondary will finally be one us eagles fans can be proud of

It’s time…

The biggest position of need is a New Defensive Coordinator. For me it doesn’t matter who the Defensive Backs Coach is, better talent in the Secondary would overcome a lot of where we went wrong this year.

It would be bigger news if they hired a Consultant, or New Defensive Coordinator, They’re only kidding themselves if they think this move alone on the defensive side is the only thing that is necessary, and that this is impressive…because it’s not.

Noone said this was the only move they needed to make or will make.

C’mon

This was a very good start to a total makeover

This was a needed move

The coach they had in place as the DB coach coached the players not to turn around and play the ball when it was in the air, he taught them to watch the Wrs head and eyes then try to make a play on the ball, huh?!

That’s bull crap strategy

They needed a new DBacks coach badly

This was the 1st of many to come for the birds and changes to that defensive backfield..

Billy didn’t hire Lovett Cliff, nor could he fire the guy

Billy worked with what he had

He still let the other position coaches coach their positions

You have to be willing to admit when the Eagles make a good move Cliff

Just because Davis wasn’t fired doesn’t mean this move was trash.. jeez

I’m all for upgrading the coaches…you ask the question …do the Eagles really need a traditional GM ? The answer simply is ..yes..any organization ,needs checks and balances…you need quality people who aren’t beholden to Chip..Chip gets final say ,we already know that ,and he gets to call the shots ..that’s how we roll…but time will tell ,if autonomy and in Chip we trust will yield a Super Bowl..it’s trying to recreate the wheel …it only came about because Jeffrey Lurie let howie make it happen..it wasn’t an organizational decision …it was a game of chicken ..he goes or I stay …

Here’s something that seems s little weird, no one knows if we offically got rid of
Lovett, probably did! I’m liking this guys background

This report is a little awkward because as of this posting the Eagles already have a defensive backs coach: John Lovett. Given the way Philadelphia’s defensive backs have struggled the past two years, however, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Eagles decided to move on. The Eagles already parted ways with assistant defensive backs coach Todd Lyght, who left to join Vanderbilt’s staff. Howard Eskin vaguely hinted at Eagles defensive coaching staff changes earlier in the month, so this shouldn’t come as a total surprise.

Undlin became available when the Broncos fired former head coach John Fox last week. The 43-year-old Minnesota native has been coaching in the NFL since 2004. He got his start as a defensive coaching assistant with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots before moving on to jobs with the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, and most recently the Broncos.

No, former DB coach John Lovett and TE coach Ted Williams are now pro scouts for the team. (Justin Peelle is the new TE coach)

They’re still here just in a lesser role which makes sense, Lovett and Williams were both overmatched as coaches of those positions..

Coach Ted Williams has been with the Eagles since the 90’s and is a long time trusted Coach and the eyes and ears for Jeff Lurie and goes back before Andy Reid.. He has an eye for Talent and may be very Good as a Scout… He’s Coach the RB’s, WR’s & TE’s during his time with the Eagles and I believe that Owner Jeff Lurie has always trusted Williams views on fellow Coach’s & Players

I never said they didn’t,

I said they were overmatched as coaches of those positions.

Listen, Ted was a very good RBs coach, but in my opinion not so good at the other ones

Yes he has a good eye for talent, but like I said before it was time for a change

Now that Chip is in full control, I think we’ll start to see the changes us fans have been screaming about for some time now

No big loss there because he did a poor job with Nick Foles. Foles needs a QB coach that will be hard on him like Bill Lazor and hold him accountable for his performance. Hopefully Chip hires a Bill Lazor type to instruct Foles.

I think you guys would be surprised on how many teams in the league would love to have our defense. Its not perfect, but neither is 95% of the leagues either. But we are a few pieces away from being something special. Billy Davis has proven in his two years he can coach a defense that gets sacks, takeaways, and stop the run. How many teams help Demarco to under a 100 yards this season? Three? Four? Philly did it twice. In billy Davis 2nd sesaon as DC he has only aloud 3 100 yard rushers.. Keep the man for a third year and see what he does. If our defense doesn’t improve in year 3 the way it did from year 1-2 then we can judge him.

I’m partially with u on this one.

I respect deserts opinion but I disagree with his fire Davis position. If the Eagles want to run this style D… They NEED Super star Cbs. That’s it. That’s the deal. And not just 1 or 2. They will need studs all over the secondary. So… The criticism is that Davis should not be running this without them. It’s a fair point. I say…. Lets break the bank in the secondary with 2 studs.. And let’s see what happens.

BTW… Finally we are talking football!!!

Stevo, Superstar CB’s cost too much. We need better than what we have, I agree, but that’s not all we need.

We also still need superstar LB’s. We have one in the making in Kendricks – That’s it. 3-4 is predicated on our OLB’s getting to the QB, and making plays – and not just against scrub teams – but consistently, by getting off the field on 3rd downs.

Nope. Disagree. Draft Lbs sign Cbs. We’ve tried the cheap route. Qbs and Cbs and pass rushers decide games. It’s that simple.

No, That’s what I mean. Finding those LB’s in the draft – Although, if I could get Justin Houston, I would do it. I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to draft a CB so high this year, unless Trey Waynes drops to us. He wouldn’t be effective year one anyway, so let him develop.

Sign good, young veteran CB’s – Byron Maxwell, and Davon House, and draft 2 more between the 1st – 3rd – Trey Waynes, or Jalen Collins and Quinton Rollins.

I have mentioned Alvin Dupree, Benardrick McKinney, Lyndon Trail, and Straughters as potential impact LB’s for the Eagles.

Stevo, superstar CBs’ are not readily available. There are only a few of them and when you leave CB’s one on one with All-Pro Receivers over and over again…the CB is going to get burnt unless his name is Richard Sherman or Darrelle Revis and they get burnt at times too.
Davis was the biggest problem..he hung the CBs’ out to dry and made no adjustments after Fletcher was burnt one on one repeatedly by Jordy Nelson one week, and Dez Bryant the next week! On the field…the safety also never seem to think…”Wow..Fletcher is struggling let me give him a little help over the top”…I guess that asking Nate Allen too much…

Biglion821

January 20, 2015 7:58 am

Davis scheme won’t work in today’s NFL even with superstar CB’s without safety help, the reason Seattle’s defense plays like that are the LB’s who have speed and agility to cover RB’s and Te’s. Now your safeties who are both killers are free to help over the top and control the middle of the field, teams can exploit them if they can run the ball because it opens that area behind the LB’s. Because their safeties first responsibility is helping the corners deep. The Eagles need to get rid of Billy Davis.

By Denver a few years back and played for Coach Undlin
Cox is now a free agent for the 49ers
A ball hawk who has some off the field baggage
Since his Oklahoma State days, but a talented,

Another name to add Andrew is Safety Mike Adams, who I believe
is a Free-Agent who played with the Colts this Season, but played a few Years in Denver under Undlin as well… Adams is about 30 Years Old and more of in a box Safety and could be a short-term Player where the Eagles can switch Malcolm Jenkins back to a more Free-Safety Role

Paul, look for Raheem Moore, to be the safety signed this off-season. I’ll be cool with that. If they can get Safety Moore, or Da’Norris Searcy & any 2 of Kareem Jackson, Buster Skrine, Byron Maxwell, Brandon Flowers, or Chris Culliver that’ll be a great start to the off-season.

My ideal off-season-

Sign Safety Raheem Moore, CB’s Buster Skrine, & Chris Culliver, ROLB Jason Worilds, ILB David Harris, WR Demaryius Thomas, & BUQB Jake Locker.

Tender contracts to Polk & Thornton.

Bid farewell to all our other FA’s

Restructure the contracts of Shady, Herremans, Cooper, Casey, & Celek.

Release Cole, Williams, Ryans, Cow turd Barkley.

Draft-
1- CB Trae Waynes.
2- FS Cody Prewitt/ ILB Eric Kendricks.
3- ILB Denzell Perryman/ OG John Miller
4(1)- OG Laken Tomlinson.
4(2)- QB Bryce Petty.
5- OLB Geneo Grissom.
6- WR Dres Anderson.
7- Depth….?

Big, House would be ok too. Both Culliver & he are almost identical in age & measureables, but I’d rather have Culliver, because he is a better hitter/ tackler, & is slightly better play maker. But both are much better than toast & 3rd degree burn, that currently resides in our secondary.

bugs, that’s why I think many changes are coming to Denver. Peyton might retire. Their entire coaching staff is gone. We have their Secondary coach (That’s why I think Raheem Moore will be signed). Demaryius will get a good contract, but I’d rather pay him, than resigning Maclin at similar $$$$. He’s bigger, faster, & proven longer to be a true #1-#2 WR, Maclin is a 1/2 season wonder, in a contracty year. Prior to this year, he was tissue paper, who was a bust. We’ll see??

Demaryius is def an upgrade. He is a freak of nature with his size and speed. Redzone nightmare. I think Maclin is a very good WR, but Thomas is at another level. And he is only 27. If you are going to break the bank at WR, this is the guy.

Moore would be a good addition as well. One less thing to focus on in the draft.

I look at Championship Style Defenses and to me
It always starts up the Middle…
Ravens with Ngats,Lewis & Reed
Steelers with their LB’s & Palomula when he was in his prime
49ers with Willis,Whitner
Seahawks with Wagner,KJ Wright and 2 Great
Safeties…

You have to bring Fear & Pain to Receivers that
Work inbetween the numbers than can
Use the sidelines effectively to help negate
Some of those outside WR ‘a
Kendrick’s & Ryans are a nice Duo
But not great.. Ryans health & age are a concern
Safety is weak spot and another big DT
Would be helpful clogging the middle

Here are some Players on Offense to keep an eye on during the Senior-BOwl Week in Mobile

QB Bryce Petty (Baylor 6-2 230lbs – Runs 4.74) How does he look under Center and away from that Baylor Shotgun, Spread Offense

RB – David Johnson (Northern Iowa 6-2 215lbs – Runs 4.59) A big Back with hops and very adept at receiving the Ball from the Backfield.. (If Eagles Trade McCoy in a Package to move up for Mariota, Johnson could be his Replacement)

WR – Devin Smith (Ohio State 6-2 198lbs – Runs 4.51) A big Play, down the Field Receiver, How is he Route Running, Can he Block, etc,etc

WR – Sammie Coats (Auburn 6-1 201lbs – Runs a 4.48) Another Big PLay
with great straight-line Speed, Can he run intermediate Routes well enough and show consistent Hands and be able to Block as is required at the NFL Level

TE – Nick Boyle (Delaware 6-3 265lbs – Runs a 4-89) A Hybrid, TE/WR with size, athleticism and good hands, not much of a Blocker but could be a versatile Player at the NFL Level which NFL Teams love with their TE’s today

OT – TJ Cummings (Pitt 6-5 305lbs – Runs 4.78) A dominating Athletic Run Blocker with a nasty disposition, great feet & balance..Needs to refine his Pass Blocking, some have compared him to a young Jason Peters..
(I like this Kid a lot as a Future LT in the NFL)

OT – Ty Sambrailo (Colorado State 6-5 310lbs – Runs 5.29)
Athletic, Goods hands and Feet, probably projects as a Guard in the NFL

OT – La’el Collins (LSU 6-5 315lbs -Runs 5.42) Very Physical and Tough,
Has good use of his Hands, lacks overall Speed and probably Projects as a RT or Guard at the NFL Level

Guard – Shaq Mason – Georgia Tech 6-1 305lbs – Runs 5.2)
2 Year Starter, Smart, Tough, and an excellent Run Blocker, with solid Techniques and Fundamentals, Needs to work on his Pass-Blocking but could be a nice Mid-Round Selection as a Future Guard at in NFL

Eagles Reportedly Will Try to Move Up for Mariota
Tuesday, Jan. 20
The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly will try to move up to select Mariota in the 2015 NFL draft, according to Mark Eckel of NJ.com. Eckel provided comments from a person close to the organization:

‘From No. 20, it’s certainly not going to be easy,’ said the person, who requested anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak on the subject. ‘It’s probably going to take moving up twice to do it. There’s going to be some wheeling and dealing involved.’

Asked if he thought it could happen, the response was telling.

‘Can it happen?’ he asked. ‘I don’t know. But they’re going to try.’

It seems Chip is on the move in terms of getting Mariota and it may not cost as much as most thought. Word is that teams within the top 10 may pass on Mariota because they already have their guy or feel Mariota don’t fit what they’re trying to do which makes it a win win for those who want Chip to have his guy and for those who felt if wasn’t worth it, having to give up the farm.

Chip getting his guy is looker more and more a reality by the day.

Garrett Grayson hand size 10.25 inches!!!!

Chip Kelly has said that size of a quarterback’s hands is more important.

The average N.F.L. hand size for a quarterback is now 9.6 inches. Some of the top ‘short’ quarterbacks (6-2 or shorter) of the past decade have ridiculously large hands — Drew Brees (10.25 inches), Russell Wilson (10.25 inches), Brett Favre (10.38 inches). (The average length of a male hand is 7.44 inches.)

LOL I know its part of being a fan and a lot of fans like to get excited and post names of college -players being interviewed and who we “should” draft. But like I stated before Zach Ertz is the only player mentioned that I can recall that was ever mentioned on this board that was actually selected by the Eagles In the last 10 years.Dont mean to deter all the researching that some fans do but honestly it means nothing. But I must say some fans here with limited research could have better drafts than the actual experts. A great comment was on 97.5 yesterday. Someone said we are so worried about giving up draft picks for Marriota.. Who wouldn’t give up last years entire draft for Marriota? Who actually in that draft isn’t expendable? It was a horrible draft at this time.

There was a time, when Andy Reid was here, that you knew who the Birds were picking in the draft because they always interviewed them and invited them to the Nova Care center.

I would think that it will be the same now with Kelly. Some of the guys he interviews will be drafted….

On another note it has been determined that the NE Patriots have cheated again. Reports are 11 out of 12 balls were under-inflated by 2lbs to accomadate Bradys hands. lol. NE isn’t commenting at this time. If the league doesn’t suspend Belichik next year and/or take multiple draft picks I would be astonished.

If there’s an impact ILB in the draft they need to target him. I wanted Chris Borland last year and if Ryan’s went down and he was the backup it would have actually helped the defense IMO. Kendrick’s is our best LB and ILB would let him roam and be even that more effective.

This goes under the WTF category …it’s become publicized the Eagles organization has not made a written request to interview fitterer from the seahawks ,this is not at all surprising …what is surprising ..is that it appears we are re-inventing the proverbial wheel ,we have our staff and Coach at the senior bowl ,surveying talent …we pray …they’re trying to upgrade every position player and coach in the coming days and months..There is a great deal of trust being placed in this formula …as a fan ,who wants and hungers to win it all..I am a cynic..I was bemused yesterday by Mark Eckels claim ,that the eagles will certainaly try to get Mariotta …that’s a sexy headline ,that all the wires picked up upon…A talented GM would never have dealt that card IMO..there are more leaks in Nova Care of late then a packed mens room during a beer drenched halftime…the smokescreen ,even if it’s true, it weakens your negotiating stance ..you don’t tell a street vendor you’re starving for a hot dog ..immediately you’re paying more…our house is not in order ..that to me is apparent …leaking that news ,doesn’t galvanize any certainty in the locker room ,as to who your future QB is , it probably makes shady wonder ,am I a piece of this puzzle? These are fragile ego driven athletes ,who are walking around ,leaderless while chips away ,wondering and insecure…that can’t be a goal in this mess…

I view Maxwell and Carey Williams as virtually the same player. Grabby man cover CBs who thrived in a defense that they didnt get exposed in. Who will get toasted being targeted as a teams no.1. I would rather have a rookie on the outside then Maxwell. No different than Brandon Browner or Walter Thurmond.

Biggest different with Browner is that he went to a defense that has Devin McCourty and Darelle Revis so he is protected once again.

Can you imagine if he was your teams no.1 CB and he lead the league in PI calls.

Move on from Maxwell he is overrated.

and for those of you advocating mariotta… WHY?

It’s simple, Timmy Tebow had no accuracy on his passes. There is a reason why NFL analysts and coaches continue to say that he could still play in the NFL, but it would have to be as a TE/FB hybrid. You can’t play QB in the league if you can’t pass with accuracy. Tebow’s passes was in the ground, wide, overthrown, under-thrown, he was just wildly inaccurate. Manziel..I mean Tebow could not make accurate passes at Florida so this was not a unique problem that he just encountered on the pro level. Mariota does throw the ball with more accuracy. Is it perfect? …..No, but he has demonstrated the ability to do so consistently during his college career.

LOL..did you actually watch Tebow in college and in the pros…he was God awful as a passer. Tebow literally played his way out of the league…that’s how bad he was. Stats are nice for records, however, watching him play on the field was a joke. There was one game in the pros he literally completed only 7 passes with a high number of attempts. What was his completion percentage of passes of +20 yards. Tim Tebow was total garbage..please tell me why he is no longer in the league outside of poor performance. if he could play a little bit he wold still be in the league as a QB. Have you seen the garbage out there as backup QB’s…get real! Tahj Boyd was a superior QB in college, not a pro QB. This is a situation where stats are for pencil pushing number crunching geeks. That’s why Chip did not want Howie around. Stats do not tell the whole story performance wise…. jeesh!

And the world could end tomorrow…none of it matters what he did in that championship game to Chip If you miss on ten straight #1 draft picks are you going to forfeit your #1 pick the following year? Of course not. You can’t think about it in those terms. You can’t play this scared. if Chip thinks Mariota is his guy he will attempt to get him. if Chip does not want him, he will not. I don’t think Chip will play this chicken little style…oh well mariota may not pan out so I don’t wanna chance it…you guys keep saying it’s a crapshoot so it doesn’t make a difference as there is no bona fide can’t miss prospect.

Tebow was 66.4% in college with 88tds to 16 ints. He also added another 57 tds rushing.

His W-L record was 35-7. 5 losses coming in his 1st year starting. He was 26-2 as a junior and senior.

In the NFL he was 8-6. 17 tds and 9 ints. Granted his completion % was bad….below 50% (This happens to “one-read” qbs when they get to the NFL where the first read isn’t always open…..are you paying attention Mariotta lovers??)

Look….Tim Tebow, like all read-option qbs, is a joke in the NFL.

That being said….I find it weird that will all the “Kelly needs HIS type of QB talk – Get ___________ In here!” no-one ever calls for Tebow.

Why is that?

Guy was arguably the greatest read-option QB in football history. He’s won in the nfl. Won playoff games in the NFL.

Crickets.

Why? Why no call for Tebow?

Why hasn’t Kelly even brought the guy in to kick the tires if running the RO is soooooo important?

Geez Florida won games with Trey Burton playing QB. If you watched any of Florida’s games coached by Urban Meyer you would know why Tebow was a 66% passer in college. It was ALL scheme Harvin and The killer running free because teams were playing 9 in the box. Please shut up with this nonsense.

Jeez Oregon won games with Darron Thomas playing QB. They went to the National Championship game with him. It was ALL scheme Barner and James wide open on the continual screens. Please shut up with this nonsense.

Tim tebow was a one-read guy running a read-option. Failed in the NFL.

Thomas was a one-read guy running a read option. Failed in the NFL.

Dixon was a one-read guy running a read-option. Failed in the NFL

Tim Tebow had to wind-up to throw the ball – his throwing motion started with the ball at hip level.

In the NFL you don’t have time for that long throwing motion – the ball goes from in front of you – to your ear – then throw.

When Tebow tried to shorten his motion (in the NFL) he lost his accuracy and power.

Devin McCourty will be an Eagle. On top of that you only have to listen to Chip stressing two way capability of their safeties and he is the perfect fit. Just like it made total sense when they got Jenkins.

McCourty could be a move that almost dictates everything else they do with relative ease and takes the guessing game out of it. They then can go CB etc on defense.

That’s why college stats are meaningless when evaluating prospects, its about tools, arm strength obviously a big one, especially the ability to stand in the pocket and deliver throws in tight windows as they say, and go through progressions when the first, second guy is blanketed, all the while 300lb monsters closing in looking to knock your head off

There are questions about Mariota’s ability to make throws from the pocket on covered receivers, he has not been asked to do a lot of that at Oregon.

Very risky pick if selected high, especially if you give up a lot to get him.

Winston projects as a better pro style qb, but he has off the field issues that Kelly will not touch

“Several Media outlets”

One blogger.

The trade makes complete sense though – For Houston.

Houston acting smart if they get him. Buy low.

Eagles were dumb not moving Vick after 2010 when value was high. You can argue they were again dumb for not trading Foles when his value was high (if he truly isn’t in their plans) and they’d be dumb again trading him when value is low.

And that’s clearly why they shouldn’t trade him – value is low. It would be just like a smart team to come in and swoop him up for cheap…like the Pats did with Moss.

But isn’t that the issue?

Only idiot franchises spend a fortune trading up in the draft on the next shiny thing.

It never works.

New Orleans (they were idiots for 99% of their existance) for Watters
Washington for RGIII
Atlanta for Jones
Buffalo for Watkins
Atlanta for Vick (twice Atlanta burned for moving up)
Chargers for Leaf

These trades ALWAYS fail.

You want the Eagles to pull off one of these trades.

I do not what the Eagles to join the list of idiot franchises that break the bank for draftees.

You do.

And that’s the end of the story. You like bad players and bad trades.

That matters not Andrew…. Fact oft he matter is for decades there have been GREAT college QBs …The list is long, some with a heisman and some not… Who were effective within their system but not the pros . Kelly is in fact the smartest guy in the room and knows this. His pro offense is not the Oregon offense… He has won a shitload of games with no defense and traditional QBs… The eagles will not draft a qb before round four… And if they do then it in my opinion is the beginning of the end for chip.

If he doesn’t believe in Foles there is a very good reason.

He’s not good enough!

You can quote all of the meaningless, drivel of stats that you want…

Nick Foles is just not good enough…and it doesn’t matter that we the fans of the team believe that…

Nick Foles own coach doesn’t believe he is good enough!

Bottom line!

Tom Gamble was eating cheese with 49ers GM Trent Baalke. Gamble has no time for Chip right now….he needs a job.

Ok big lion…. Here it is…. Gamble and Kelly had this planned all along. It was a coupe from the get go. Word is that Howie is so distraught by not being at the senior bowl he has been in a fetal position under his desk for days… Jeff Lurie finally coaxed him out using a lollipop and a picture of joe banner to entice him.
Gamble has left his wife and he and Howie are the first gay couple to run a football team…. Hard knocks is philly next July….

***Breaking Rumor*** Eagles in negotiations to acquired Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel from the Browns.

In an interview at the Senior Bowl Chip Kelly said “If you squint your eyes and watch film of Mariota and Manziel they are nearly indistinguishable”!

Before Chip can be a real success in the NFL, he has to wake up and realize his vision of College QB’s don’t translate to the Pros.

If that’s true Irish, he is going to screw this team up big time.
