Eagles Re-Sign Brandon Graham

grahamThe Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with former first-round pick Brandon Graham on a new four-year contract.

Graham, who many thought would likely depart in free agency, also reportedly drew interest from the Titans, Dolphins, and Giants.

Largely considered a bust during his tenure with the Eagles, Graham has never been a full-time starter with the team ever since he was selected in the first round of the 2010 draft. With Trent Cole out of the picture, Graham will now get that opportunity.

The signing of Graham more than likely ends the Eagles’ pursuit of Pittsburgh linebacker Jason Worilds.

I don’t think Graham over Worilds is a drop off at all, I did want Worilds but I’m ok with this. In other news, I just read the 49ers are releasing Stevie Johnson, I think he would be perfect for us, the kid could fly!

Are the Birds back to missing 5 starters from last year again?

DB
S
RG
RB
WR
And have 2 linemen approaching their mid-30s

And people still thinking Eagles are going to trade away 3 drafts worth of picks?

Chip is learning that guys are about green and not eagles green.

Foles is the answer to this Whole Mess.

Extend Foles W incentive heavy contract. Draft WR,OL,RB,WR,S,CB

I’ve been saying the same thing all along. 6 starters from last year gone and you expect to fill that through FA?

Beyond stupid. FA players cost more. FA playes come in from different systems and have to “re-learn”.

Build through the draft.

FA is for adding one or two guys when the team is ready to make a push.

At the end of this mess Eagles will have added a LB through a trade and a new DB. The other 2 are re-signings.

That’s it.

There are holes everywhere on this roster.

And we’re going to trade away the top 2 picks for the next several years for one player???

Eaglehaslanded
Eaglehaslanded
March 9, 2015 8:16 pm

You do understand free agency starts tomorrow, it does not end tomorrow. There will be other players..tier two that will be brought in for depth. It’s not as if the Eagles are going to grab top tier FA’s at every position, there are more than likely players on the team that will fill in for some of the holes we say are there. Relax…the sky is not falling. besides, the Eagles are not in position to make a SB run with or without Foles…it will take a couple of years either way…Sanchez will be starting in 2015 if Mariota is not here, Foles will be traded regardless.

Eskin is an out of the loop dork…As soon as the Eagles signed Sanchez to a pretty significant contract, Foles agent should be quietly talking to the Eagles about trading him.
If the Eagles keep Foles it will be as a back up to Sanchez…Chip sees Sanchez as a better QB than Foles.
Why should Foles want to enter the final year of his cheap ass contract as Sanchez’s backup??

I understand Vinnie…it hurts…your upset…

However, money talks and bullshit walks

And when we follow the money its Sanchez who got a fresh new 2 year $16 million contract and Foles is still twisting in the wind.

Its a helluva way to treat, the great Nick Foles, your starting franchise QB who you believe is the future of your team

Unless of course, you dont believe that Nick Foles is your franchise QB…

Follow the money Fool…its obvious…Chip doesn’t believe in Nick Foles..he’s done, finished…for Foles sake I hope the rumors about other teams wanting him are true…because the Nick Foles era in Philly is over!

Or will they get rid of Foles and have Sanchez

Follow the money…its obvious that Chip Kelly thinks Sanchez is better

16 million.

He got a $16 million the same way you got a $2/hr raise at Wallmart.

In that he didn’t. Its a 2 year $9 million deal. With a bunch of never to be had bonuses attached to it to make the Agent look good.

Just about middle of the pack when it comes to backup QBs twit.

He signed a backup $$ contract to be exactly what he is. A backup. And not a very good one at that.

The total value of the deal with all the incentives is $16 million with $5.5 million guaranteed….name a back up who gets that kind of money with an established franchised starter
You may have to make room, Vinniedaloser…Foles may contend for your burger flipping job at McDonalds…he’s good at turnovers anyway!
Fool ass Vinnie! Here is what you need to understand…its not that Nick Foles is not a nice guy, everyone loves him…he’s just not good enough…and Chip obviously thinks Sanchez is just as good..
Sanchez gets much more respect from Chip than Foles ever got…

I always knew you were an idiot, but your posted belief that the Sanchez contract is actually worth 16 mil confirms it.

Sanchez’s contract is 2 years 9 mil.

4.5 a year this coming season

Last year’s backups:
Cassel 5.2
McCown 4.6
Vick 4 (last year)
Stanton 4
Henne 4
Moore 4.4
Hasselback 3.7
Fitzgerald 3.6
Orton 3.5
Daniels 3.3
Locker 3.1

Sanchez’s backup QB salary falls right in line with all the other scrub backup Qbs in the league.

Stop clinging desperately to your two pathetic claims:
A – Sanchez is actually a good QB and
B – that someone else on the planet (Kelly) actually believes your rubbish, because no one does….including Chip Kelly who just paid his backup QB backup QB $$.

One of his “bonuses” is going to be “named MVP of a SB”

That’s all pretend fantasy $$ designed to make the agent look good.

16 million. You idiot.

How many backups have a $5.5 million dollar guaranteed and incentives up to 16million? Your list includes guys who were initially brought in as starters and lost the job.

Face the Facts Vinnie

1-Its not about what I or what you think…its about what Chip Kelly thinks…and he thinks Sanchez is just as good if not better than Nick Foles
2. Why does the ‘backup’ get a new deal with more than 5 million guaranteed and the supposed ‘starter’ is left twisting in the wind with Kelly saying that Foles has to be ‘evaluated’, trade rumors, massive talk about getting Mariota.

3- Your dream of Foles being the Franchise QB and signed to a deal like Kaepernick is the real pretend fantasy!

Foles is done…Fool ass

Buy a clue…

Backups get more money when they are in competition for starting jobs!

2 years 16 mil tells you exactly what they think about Nick Foles

When a team is committed to a QB and rumors start flying about him…here is what you get:

“Colin is our quarterback and we are excited to have him. He is not going anywhere. The media reports suggesting otherwise are without merit and, quite frankly, ridiculous. ”

Funny…we are not hearing any thing similar to this from the Eagles about the great Nick Foles…I wonder why????

again, WHY would he say anything about Foles? if you had an original thought or half a brain you would realize that the eagles being a wild card thru the draft is a benefit for them…. if they want or DON’T want foles it helps them by playing close to the vest– sure float his name out there, why not—you aren’t committed to anything if you play it close…. hell they traded a bona fide nfl stud back– why wouldn’t they float his name…

“again, WHY would he say anything about Foles?”

Haveablunt are you really that dense?

We are not talking about the running back, an offensive lineman, a cornerback…we are talking about the leader of the team, the most important position on the team…the Quarterback.

As an organization if you believe in your Franchise QB…you make it clear to him, the team, and everyone else because you believe in him and you want to establish the confidence in him as the leader of the team.

When you DONT believe in your QB…you leave him twisting in the wind, you dont pay him extra money…and you give the backup a 2 year 16 million deal with plenty incentives and plenty of guaranteed money….while you leave the supposed starter with no contract, playing for less money (1.5 guaranteed) and tell him he has to be ‘evaluated’

If Foles isn’t given an extension, and if he isnt traded…he is going to be a backup and Sanchez will start…and they will draft a rookie…

Its over for Nick Foles

Book it!

This RB draft class is deep, but not deep with as much talent as some assume. Somebody is going to get a steal in the later rounds because the top Prospects at that position are overrated, overhyped, and won’t pan out in the NFL.

They have to pursue Forsett, and Spiller

Barwin is sufficient, but nothing special, and can be upgraded, and Brandon Graham ain’t shit, and nothing close to how you see him; He should have never been re-signed – and we will CONTINUE to see why.

If that’s what you would take Trusty any day, I have to respect that, but for me, I hate mediocrity – That is not a Championship LB Core IMO.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Justin Forsett in Green..
Kind of does a lot of things well, blocks & catches well and has enough wiggles and hops to get some big runs..
I believe he led the NFL with Carries over 20 Yards which is kind of
surprising as he is not known as a speed back, but he runs to daylight,
1 Cut & Hit the Hole..

Darrelle Revis has lost his mind

In order for a team to even talk to him you gotta bring a 48mil$ contract with a 40mil$ guarantee

That’s the only way you’re getting him away from NE

No he wont. Hes a hot commodity. Hes just letting teams know I fully intend to sign with NE but if you break the bank i ll join your team

Now the guy I keep forgetting is available is Brandon Browner

I like his ball skills and how aggressive he is. He would bring a toughness to this team that weve been sorely missing since the Dawk days

Big mistake. Should have spent on Worilds. Graham proved to be a dud! He isn’t a natural 3-4 OLB. He can’t drop in coverage. $6.5M for a situational pass rusher only, is STUPID!!!!

I second that DCar….

Things are falling apart for the Eagles. All this freed up cap space, and players don’t want to sign here??…..doesn’t that speak volumes???

I think they got scared, and settled for Graham, and severely over paid him.

If they don’t mind giving up picks – do it to get a guaranteed player – Justin Houston to solidify the ferociousness of the LB Core, instead of trading the farm for Mariota – who isn’t a guarantee…….then draft a more potentially talented OLB than Connor Barwin, and a more athletic, and talented ILB than Kiko Alonso.

They got graham for $6.5 mil per year while worilds was probably going to cost them an average of $8.5 mil a year with more guaranteed money.

I think they got a good deal on Graham who is young, hungry, and wanting to prove himself to this organization and its gans. The guy averages 2 quarterback hurries every 9 snaps which led all of our pass rushers. The giants were just about to sign him, and I think the front office knew that if he went to the giants, Graham would cause the Eagles headaches. I think they know he will be productive. Graham will be dropping into coverage minimally, which will be taken over by our athletic middle line backers and Barwin.

They weren’t worried about Graham haunting them on the field, because he would have been coming off the bench anyway, because everybody n the league knows he isn’t a starter.

They signed him based on getting nervous about what it would cost to sign Worilds, and settled for Graham based on his familiarity with how they play Defense.

Brandon Graham isn’t shit…

Tramon Williams is their choice to play the other side DCar, and they have to choose another safety – Moore, and Searcy are their only choices, and they still have to draft a safety, and two CB’s.

in 3 of his last 4 Season, Brandon Browner has led or tied the NFL in Penalties.. He gets 2-3 Per Game.. Holds Receivers and grabs as they run by him.. I believe he missed his calling and should have been an
in the box Safety or even a Cam Chancellor Type and he would have had much more success..
He’s very good Cover Player within 6-8 Yards, after 10 Yards he simply doesn’t have the Speed, the Hip movement and technique to cover well so he grabs and holds Receivers

Its not your money

And they signed a potential pro bowl CB

Eagles fans are never satisfied

Now if they signed culliver and house you’d say “with all that money they should’ve signed Maxwell”

They went out and signed the number 1 corner on the market

Get over it

Gloomy, the Eagles have no interest in Chris Culliver due to some of his knuckle head nonsense off the field issues. There is nothing special about him that makes him worth the potential headache. He would be more of a distraction. I don’t agree with everything the Eagles do, but forget Culliver, it’s not happening.

I’m hearing that Demarco Murray’s wiki page said he plays for the Eagles then it was taken down

If this is true by 4pm today, wow

I’m also hearing that Murray hasn’t heard a word from the Cowboys for a week so he won’t be brought back as a cowboy

If I were the Eagles the only way I’d consider signing him is if his asking price comes down drastically

Cant deny his talent and north south running, a bruiser, runs with anger, wants to run thru you, think how motivated he will be this year

Blame Drew Rosehaus for alot of the players changing their minds in regards to the Eagles

The Eagles and Drew have a checkered past regarding negotiations throughout the years. Recall the T.O negotiations, Shady negotiations, among many more

He has stabbed us in the back before and hes doing it again

I really dislike that guy

Remember, most guys use him as an agent because hes a ver shrewd business negotiator, gets guys their money

But he has a dark side

It’s not just Boras, even though he is an ass and doesn’t like Philly, but It’s many of the Top Agents and Top Players who feel the Eagles are not going to Fulfill their 3-4-5 Year Offers so why bother.. Also when other Top Players
see Eagle Star Players like D-Jax, McCoy, Maclin let go or traded without getting much in return it gives the impression that Chip Kelly doesn’t know what he’s doing or doesn’t Value Big-Time, Hey Look at me Playmakers even though many Skills Players in the NFL are this way anymore…
Kelly is getting known as a “System” Coach and not a “Players” Coach and this does not bode well moving forward.. If You have Success, then Players buy in, but being Average won’t cut it in attracting or retaining good Players moving forward.. 2015 will Define Chip Kelly as not only HC but mostly as a GM/Player Evaluator for he is calling all the shots now and this rebuild blows up… It’s all on Him…
