The Philadelphia Phillies lost their Grapefruit League match against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday.
On The Mound
- It was yet another ugly showing for Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez, who got the start and was lit up for three runs on five hits over just two innings of work. Gonzalez is currently rocking an 11.25 ERA.
- Former Texas Ranger Seth Rosin pitched a scoreless third inning.
- Sean O’Sullivan gave up two solo home runs in 2.2 innings of work.
- Nefi Ogando made his first appearance of the preseason, throwing 1.1 clean innings.
- Jake Diekman pitched the eighth, and struggled. He gave up a run on two hits and a walk.
- Ken Giles pitched a clean ninth.
At The Plate
- The Phillies failed to generate a run, and managed just five hits none of which went for extra bases.
- Ben Revere went 1-4 at the top of the order.
- Odubel Herrera played second and went 0-2.
- Domonic Brown went 1-3. He’s currently batting .313.
- Ryan Howard went 0-3 with two strikeouts.
- Darin Ruf went 1-3 with a walk.
- Grady Sizemore went 0-3 with a walk.
- Carlos Ruiz went 0-3.
