Final Thoughts

A Ryan Howard sighting!

14 games into the season, Howard finally hit his first home run, and he

Howard has dealt with a lot, and it’s been tough to watch him go through his struggles. It was nice see him not only hit a big home run that turned out to be the difference in the game, but put together a solid all-around game at the plate.

Howard reached base in each of his first three plate appearances, and didn’t give away any at-bats. He’s been a streaky player throughout his career, so it will be interesting to see if he can carry over tonight’s play to tomorrow’s game.

Unfortunately Howard won’t do this on a nightly basis anymore. Chase looks dreadful out there. He went 0-3 and had 2 really bad strike outs.

Credit to the bullpen. As long as the starter goes 6 innings and gives up less than 4 runs then we have a shot at winning. Giles-Papelbon 1-2 punch is pretty fun to watch dominate the end of a game.

7 runs!!!!!? The most we’ve scored in a game all year. Whooopie!!

It’s annoying that there’s not more speculation of why Ryan Howard is forced to play musical chairs in the batting line up sheet while Chase Utley isn’t. Is Sandberg drinking the Chipper juice these days? I hope not?
