Eagles Exercise Fifth-Year Option On Fletcher Cox

FletcherCox1The Eagles decided to exercise their fifth year option on defensive end Fletcher Cox, who is only 24 years old.  This selection of the fifth option by the Eagles protects Cox in case of injury and puts the Birds on record for paying the defensive end at least $7,799,000 in 2016 if the youngster were to get injured.  The Mississippi State stand out, who was a first round draft pick in 2012 has earned the security.  He has developed into a consisddtently dominant player for the Birds, also to have in  with a thermogenic fat burner and an exercise routine you can be an amazing player like them,

Number 91 is entering his fourth season and should have been a Pro Bowler last year, still the Birds realize that they have one of the best young defensive linemen in the league on their roster.  Many times he just overpowers offensive linemen and gets into the backfield to create mayhem for opposing offenses.  I don’t see anything but improvement on the radar for Cox.  He was getting better and better as the season was going along in 2014.

The ultimate compliment for Cox was from Pro Football Focus, which singled him out for taking his level of play up to that of last year’s NFL Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt.   That’s saying a lot because Watt is playing at a Hall of Fame level.  I agree with Pro Football Focus because Cox has taken his game up to another level, despite not producing the eye popping numbers.

Fletcher had an outstanding year. Everything started to click and the positives we may have not recognized without a stat were highlighted by the local media experts. He makes players around him better.

Yo TSJ another reason it was so stupid the redsklins made a dumb move by giving ya boi rg3 his 5th year is if he fails his end of the year physical the skins are on the hook for his 16 million so all that next year injury shit is bs……plain dumb by deadskins

Not my boy.

And once again what part of he has to be out this year+.

It has to be an injury that takes him out for next year – which is what I said. If it rehabs into next year they owe him.

But what’s the likelihood of that happening? Yes he’s likely to be injured again – even severely – but not so severely that he’s rehabbing into next year.

Once again your dislike of RG3 and/or the Redskins makes you want to argue about something that isn’t even that serious. They are hedging their bets. That is all.

Hell, they are more likely to bench him this year, before they allow him the risk of a season ending+ injury. See how that works. He plays well yea! He plays badly, bench him and no worries of injury or picking up his option.

Real. Simple.

If RG3 remains healthy but simply doesn’t play well, the Redskins can simply Cut/Release him and are not obligated to pay him anything for Year #5, If he gets injured and then placed on IR list, then they would have to Pay… It’s really not a bad move for the Redskins who are doing everything in their Power to allows RG3 regain his Confidence to get back to the level of play of his Rookie Season.. If that doesn’t show this Season, then he will be a goner.. If the rebounds and plays well, then they have their QB for the next few Years

But if he Passes Physical but played like crap in 2015, then they
can Release him at the Start of the NFL Calender Season in March of 2016 and Owe him nothing for 2016…so no real risk for Redskins at all unless he does get injured

I know that paulman the problem you and ts dont understand it doesnt have to be a injury that keeps him out next year…..only long enough to have him fail a physical and end of footbakl year so its a huge risk due to his injury history…..do you understand now…..jesus

His Physical will be in MArch of 2016 at the Start of the NFL Calender Year.. Passign A Physical should be no problem barring a major injury during the 2015 Season..
If he is playing like crap and not getting the job done on the filed and in the locker room and lets say he gets Benched Week #10 of the 2015 Season and Colt McCoy plays well to than they can simply Cut or Release RG3 with no Obligation to him in 2016

So much for Dion Jordan, what a colossal bust. Suspended for a year.
