Former Eagles cornerback Cary Williams always had a crowd at his locker after practices and games because he always had something to say.  Williams was most comfortable with a microphone in his mouth.

The guy seemed to have a chip on his shoulder when he played for the Baltimore Ravens.  At times in games, he will lose it and get a stupid penalty.  All his teammates would do is shake their heads and say, “Oh well that’s Cary”.

The same was true when he played here.  You never knew what he was capable of saying or doing. Now although Williams has gone to Seattle and signed a three-year deal with the Seaahawks he hasn’t changed a bit.

Williams was interviewed today on 710ESPN radio in Seattle and it didn’t take him long to start criticizing his former head coach Chip Kelly.

“I enjoyed my teammates and I enjoyed some of the coaches,” Williams said told the radio audience according to ESPN. “Ultimately, we didn’t get the job done and there are reasons for that. Whatever they were creating, I didn’t believe it.”

Williams was playing to the crowd in Seattle when he suggested that the Eagles weren’t prepared to pay the Seahawks when they face near the end of last season.

We got out there, we got our teeth kicked in”, Williams said according to ESPN. “So all that conditioning didn’t necessarily work. Preparation wasn’t necessarily the greatest neither that week,” he told the radio station. ” When you’re going up against teams that prepare well, practice well, coach well, it’s difficult in games like that. I think towards the end of the year we were exhausted and we got outcoached the majority of the games.”

Williams wasn’t finished as he went after Chip and his staff again.

“I think he’s a great coach, but I think what’s going on there isn’t necessarily the right way of doings things,” Williams said according to ESPN. “When you’re going against elite players and elite teams, we weren’t able to get the job done.”

We’ll see how Williams plays this season.

They may well have been out-coahced but they were certainly out-talented and out-played. It would be way too much to ask him to take some responsibility for poor play.
