Can Eagles Make The Playoffs With Mark Sanchez At QB?

MarkSanchez21Here’s the deal right now with the Eagles and the 2015 season.  You’ve got Sam Bradford and his bum knee and Mark Sanchez and his interceptions.  One or the other will be the starting quarterback for the Birds in 2015.

The Bradford situation will take center stage first and if it succeeds, we won’t see much of Sanchez in Philadelphia.  But if Bradford gets hurt like he has done in the preceding two seasons, Sanchez will be the guy with the football and the responsibility of at least leading the Eagles to the playoffs.

So I’m posing a question, which needs to be taken seriously.  Can the Eagles make the playoffs with Mark Sanchez as the team’s starting quarterback?  The answer to that question prompts another question.

Can Mark Sanchez eliminate those drive-killing and game-losing interceptions?  He believes he can.

Throughout the OTA’s Sanchez was talking about and saying he can eliminate those interceptions.

“I think about five or six throws from last year – maybe a check-down here, maybe throwing it away there, taking a sack or not taking a sack,” Sanchez said. “And in those five to 10 plays, not only does that change your percentages, that will change a season. That puts you into the next level. That puts us into the postseason tournament. You get into that tournament, and your numbers will naturally be up. But that team success will happen first. Everything else kind of happens on its own.”

In 2014, Sanchez completed a career best 64.1% of his passes for 2418 yards with 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.  He finished the season with a 88.4 quarterback rating.

The one problem you see on those numbers are the interceptions.  He wasn’t as bad last year as he was with the Jets, but you still had the costly interceptions.  I think they threw the football too much because of a horrible secondary and an off year from the offensive line and the Birds running game.

That running game should be more effective this time around with the addition of DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews.  They won’t make as many highlight film runs as LeSean McCoy, but there should be fewer second downs and long and fewer third downs and long.  Only the top quarterbacks in the league can thrive in third and long situations.  Guys like Sanchez get into trouble in those 3rd and longs.

Like when he was with the Jets, Sanchez plays his best when he throws the football less than 30 times a game.  He flourishes with that strong running game and a good defensive effort.

Last year, Sanchez impressed Chip Kelly and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, because he was just coming off shoulder surgery in 2013.  Now in 2015, he says he’s arm feels better and stronger, but his decision-making and accuracy will be the key.  I think Sanchez can eliminate those costly interceptions, if he gets the support

Yes ,and a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut in the forest.the problem with this question ,is it can happen ,but what I know for a fact is he won’t lead them to the promise land. You can’t camaflogue body language, walking around with your head down..That’s part of the game ,disappointments ,it’s how you challenge yourself that defines you as a champion..sorry I don’t see that, thang in Sanchez..you mortgaged your future to keep that possibility of sanchize being the man,in Sam I am..at least there’s an unknown ,how he’ll respond in a new system ,surrounded with a great scheme ,fisher vs chip..it at least intrigues me ..my question ..can either of these. Guys be the man?

I think we all feel about that same when talking about Mark Sanchez…
Can he Win a Game or Two for you as a backup, and the answer is Yes
Can he be the #1 Starter and lead the
Team to 10-11 Victories and into the Post-Season, probably not..
But Sam Bradford has never led the Rams to the Postseason during his 5 Seasons, at least Sanchez led the NY Jets to 2 AFC Championship Games
Most likely, after the 2015 Season is done, the Eagles will still be searching
For their True #1 Future Starter at QB
For I don’t believe it’s Sanchez,Bradford,Tebow or Barkley

If Chip Kelly with either S Bradford or M Sanchez as his Starting QB, fail to make the Post-Season in 2015, the he will have a lot to answer for..
The gloves and honeymoon are over.. This is Chip Kelly’s Team from Top to Bottom and oversee’s all Player Personnel matters as he demanded…
If this 2015 Team does not reach the Post-Season , then it’s back to square #1 as far as a QB goes and this Off-Season will end up going down as a complete waste and disaster, as Kelly will that be going into Year #4 still with no proven QB which is every Franchise’s nightmare

I have a feeling that Nick Foles leads the SL Rams to a Wild-Card Playoff spot which would be their first post-season appearance in years ..

2. He punches like a pussy, girl took it pretty well.
3. He ain’t no ray rice
4. People should understand -EVERYTHING we do is on video– If you guys want an interesting read or re-read for many of us- read George Orwells 1984- He was off by a couple of decades but…’there are viewing monitors everwhere, even on our person, we are at a constant state of war, the middle class is shrinking, the govt/establishment knows everything we do-if you don’t believe it look at the top right corner of the gcobb page and there will probably be an ad for the last thing you shopped for online…
