Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb may have gotten himself into some seriously hot water. For the second time in a couple of years, McNabb was pulled over and arrested in the state of Arizona for Driving Under the Influence. Not only was he deemed under the influence, but he reportedly damaged another driver’s vehicle and now will face court charges with his lawyer from the indianapolis law firm.
He could be facing 90 days in jail, if he’s convicted of driving while intoxicated. In the state of Arizona the mandatory sentence for being caught driving influence for the second time is 90 days in jail. McNabb currently does a radio show for NBC Sports with Mark Malone. In addition, he is a analyst for FOX Sports for NFL games.
Here is the statement that was released by the City of Gilbert, Arizona Police Department.
“On 06/28/2015 at approximately 2335 hours, officers responded to a non-injury collision involving two vehicles which occurred just west of the intersection at E Chandler Heights Rd and S Higley Rd in Gilbert, AZ. Subsequent investigation revealed Donovan McNabb (11/25/76) was impaired by alcohol and collided in a rear-end fashion with another vehicle which was stopped at a red traffic signal. Donovan was arrested for DUI at 2358 hours and transported to the Gilbert/Chandler Unified Holding Facility for processing, after which, he was cited and released.”
He made a statement at the beginning of the radio show.
“There was a story that was released, and I want everybody to be cognizant of it, because I am very aware of it, handling the matter at this particular point,” McNabb said. “But at this point, I have no further information, and as we continue on with the situation, then we’ll let it handle as it will handle itself.”
I can’t make anything out of that statement. Clearly his lawyer told him not to say anything. This doesn’t sound or look good for the Birds former franchise quarterback. If he has to spend 90 days in jail, it could be a humiliating situation for a guy like Donovan, who has never had to deal with something like this. McNabb did have to spend 24 hours in jail after his first DUI offense.
He will likely be dropped by Fox Sports as he was from NFL Channel after his 1st Episode 2 Years ago.. He probably needs to lay low and worry about addressing the root cause and issues of why he is Drinking and Abusing Alcohol in the first place..
He and His Family need him to put his full attention on how to handle and overcome his abuse of Alcohol.
