Is There Too Much Patience With Sam Bradford?

Sam Bradford is not a rookie NFL quarterback, but his production three weeks into the 2015 season have certainly looked and felt that way. The health of the knee is not a daily conversation, but the level of play from the veteran quarterback certainly is.

There have simply been too many missed opportunities, and it should worry even the biggest Sam Bradford fan. These aren’t issues that can be labeled as Bradford still working on his timing or him getting back into the rhythm of a NFL season.

I’m talking about the inaccuracy of his throws and the lack of zip behind the throws. Starring down his receivers and not going through his progressions, allowing opposing defenders to watch Bradford’s eyes. Looking passive as the quarterback on the football team, and not a guy trying to take control of the game and lead his team to victory. I could go on, but I’m not trying to attack a guy who I do believe has a lot more to offer the Eagles from the quarterback position.

The next three weeks “should” allow Bradford to show off his skillset. The Redskins, Saints and Giants have all shown weaknesses in their secondary groups that the Eagles need to expose. The spacing of the receivers and route selection has to be modified, it would be considered boring even at the high school level. If Chip is trying to keep the play calling simple to help ease Bradford and the receiving core into the season, he is doing wrong by this football team.

Mark Sanchez was a game manager who failed to make the big throw when it counted most last year, yet I feel like I’m watching the same thing this season. I need Bradford to look like a player I would take over half of the other starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

As it stands, I struggle to name ten quarterbacks that I’d take Bradford over.

Struggle to name 10? Ya see that’s just it with Bradford. Based on the fact that he is relatively young, based on his supposed “skill set” that has been over hyped, what he “should be”, his “pedigree”………right now you can legitimately name at least 25 QBs that are a better option. At some point the smoke will clear for all to see. He is not the answer the the future. Hopefully we can ride the season out with some dignity and figure something out for next year.

“Figure something out for next year”

Ya, Jared Goff.
