Eagles Should Have Success Throwing Against The Redskins

JordanMatthewsvsWash1If the Eagles don’t play in a hurricane tomorrow, they should have tremendous success throwing the ball against the Washington Redskins.   Both of Washington’s starting cornerbacks are going to miss the game.  DeAngelo Hall injured his foot and will miss a few games.  The guy on the other side Chris Culliver is questionable with a knee injury. It’s starting to look he my go, but it’s still not a sure thing.

I know the Eagles receivers haven’t done much up until now, but tomorrow should be a breakout day, if Joaquin the Storm will stay out of the area and give Sam Bradford and his receivers a chance to do their jobs.  Washington will be working with a patchwork secondary.  Their starting cornerbacks would be Bashed Breeland and Will Blackmon, if Culliver doesn’t play.

Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor should have big days.  Bradford should hold onto the ball a bit longer and make sure to step into his throws.  He must correct his footwork by stepping into his throws, so he’s getting some velocity into them.  Matthews should have a good matchup in the slot and Agholor is due to get some catches.

Zach Ertz should be able get open versus the Redskins safeties and linebackers.

The Redskins have a solid run defense, which is 3rd in the league against the run, so running the ball won’t be easy, but it still should be a part of the offense.  Chip Kelly and company don’t need to totally abandon the run because you don’t want to let the Washington defensive line tee off on Bradford.

The Eagles should keep Washington honest by running every three or four downs as a part of the offense.  Play action passes should be a good option.

Chip has to mix things up by running the ball out of a variety of formations.  He should also put Bradford under center and throw the football, because last week they ran the football every time Bradford was under center.

“Should have?”

The redskins secondary is now in shambles. They have no-one at CB and safety positions. They are calling up practice squad scrubs to man starting positions this week.

There were Wrs open the last several weeks. There will be more this week.

Will we continue to see passes either bouncing at players feet, behind them or 10 feet over their heads with every attempt over 10 yards??? (albeit a very small sample)

Eagles suck against the Redskins this will be one of their worst games of the season by far. Cousins will pick the defense apart easily
