Great QB Duel, Bradford vs. Palmer On Sunday Night

SamBradfordvsJets1On Sunday night, there is going to be a great battle between two quarterbacks, Sam Bradford and Carson Palmer, who were both the number one pick in the draft when they came out of college.  Bradford came out in 2010 and Palmer came out in 2003.  Both of them have been traded from the teams that originally draft them and each of them has experienced two ACL tears.

Palmer is now at the top of his game and one of the leading candidates for the NFL MVP award. Palmer is making about $20 million dollars a year to quarterback the Cardinals and he has them sitting at 11-2 with three weeks remaining in the season.

Bradford, who is making $13 million dollars a year and he will be a free agent at the end of the season.  If he were to outduel Palmer, then lead the Birds to victories over the Washington Redskins and New York Giants, there would be a lot of pressure on the Eagles to give Bradford a multi-year, $20 million dollars a year deal.

There’s no question that Bradford has played better as the season has progressed, but the key games in the season lay ahead,  so we’ve got to wait and see exactly what happens.

Bradford was noncommittal when asked about returning to the Eagles next year as the starting quarterback.  Would he like to return here or would he like to go elsewhere?  Who knows?

I think the Birds need to look at franchising him if the season continues to go well.  He would have to really light it up the rest of the way for me to think about giving him a more than $100 million dollar deal.

On paper this one does not look good for eagles. Defence and special teams will need to score or directly contribute to at least two scores. Slowing Arizona wrs will be tough task. Unfortunately I see cards winning 34-17

No idea what to expect from our birds- we’ve seen it all this year. Our team has the potential to hang with anyone (as we’ve seen against the pats), but the matchups pose a problem for them for sure. In order to win the birds need to….

1) Get to the QB. Its a no brainer and something we say every week. However…. i do not think our CB depth can handle their WR depth at all this week… so getting to the QB to disrupt his timing is even MORE important this week.

2) Mix it up- Our best nickle corner is playing safety. If im the birds… Id move him down to corner this week and still have 2 other safeties on the field much of the time. Nickle 3-3-5 is what id use this week.

3) But what about their run? Let them run it on us here and there, they birds cannot let them beat us in the air this week.

4) Control the clock- Clearly not something Chip cares about… and thats a shame for a week like this. If the point of the game is to win, all options should be on the table. Wanna throw off their D this week? Slow the game down. I know it wont happen but….. i would run run run the ball and try and keep my D off the field as much as possible this week.

The later flexed game is certain to be a blessing for any west coast team vs.a 11am bio clock..As if the intangibles weren’t already stacked against our birds .Having watched the cards here ,I sense that they will be run upon .The Giant and redskins games will already be posted ,and that is as much motivation ,as any ..Many of our attributes ,are college gimmickry ,as Arians has stated..I look for Chip to pull all the trickery he can ,in this game..I want so badly to have bragging rights here in the desert ,and hope that within two weeks we can beat two potential Super Bowl contestants ,in New England and the Cards…

yea… but the cards only cared a little in that game and well.. Nick Foles is the second coming of Kevin Kolb who is the second coming of Montana. Just adding a little fuel to that simpleton fire. 🙂

RB Chris Johnson is out until the Playoffs
RB Andre Ellington is a Game Time Decision Per Reports but still gimpy
Watch for Rookie RB David Johnson (6-1 224lbs and a load) to get the brunt of the Carries and RB Stepfan Taylor (5-9 220lbs) in Short-Yardage/Red-Zone attempts

How do the Cardinals line up their WRs? I know their top 3 WR ( Fitzgerald, Floyd, and Brown). I remember Fitzgerald torching Boykin previously so I would assume he moves around a lot. I don’t think I want Jenkins on John Brown if he is lined up in the slot. I’m having flashbacks of Cowboys Cole Beasley using his quickness against Jenkins.

Fitz is playing more in the Slot this Season Michael Floyd & John Brown on the outside.. They also have speed freak JJ Nelson who was the fastest human at the Indy Combine last year from Alabama-Birmingham and ran a 4.25 40 Time
Then they use Bigger WR Jauron Brown in the Red-Zone and have
TE’s DArren Fells & Troy Nicklas

You clowns would rather have gumby bu foles put up better miners in this system he also throws the ball downfield

I’d rather have foles here with that second round pick

I understand why Kelly made the trade he doesn’t like foles but foles produced in his system it was a stupid trade they downgraded the Qb and gave up a lot of cars and a huge draft pick. Stupid and will be the end of kelly

Some Rankings & Stats for the Eagles/Cardinals Match-Up

Offense
Cardinals Rank #1 Overall in the NFL with 418 Yards Offense per Game
299 Yards Passing & 118 Yards Rushing and Average 31 Points Per Game

Eagles Rank 16th in the NFL with 352 Yards of Offense per Game
236 Yards Passing & 116 Yards Rushing and Score 23 Points per Game

Defense
Cardinals Rank 4th and allow 322 Yards per Game
235 Yrds Passing & only 88 Yards Rushing & Allow 19 Points Per Game

Eagles Rank 26th and allow 386 Yards per Game
259 Yards Passing & 127 Yards Rushing & Allow 25 Points Per Game

In the Turnovers/Sacks Categories
Cardinals have 25 Takeaways with 19 Giveaways for a Plus 6
Eagles forced 25 Takeaways but have 23 Giveaways for a Plus 2

Cardinals only have 24 Sacks while the Eagles have 31

Big Plays and Turnovers will be Huge…
Cardinals Offense thrives pushing the ball down the field and getting YAC from their Skills Players… Cardinals have struggled with Short-Yardage and in Scoring TD’s once in the Red-Zone
Eagles must hold them to FG’s a couple times to have a chance

Cardinals do have something to play for as they are trying to clinch that #2 overall Seed which provides them with a Bye Week and Home Field Advantage for the Playoffs.. They are 3 Games up over The hot Seattle Seahawks with 3 Games to play and face the Seahawks 1 more time so a Win for the wraps things up for them plus HC Bruce Arians is a Competitor and would love nothing more but to stick it to the Eagles & Chip Kelly as he feels he was jilted by the Organization when he was scheduled to interview for the HC Position during the same off-season when Chip Kelly originally turned down the Eagles Offer
