Doug Pederson: “Sam Bradford is the No. 1”

DougPederson2Eagles head coach Doug Pederson showed us one reason yesterday why he was a good pick for the Birds head coaching position.  He knows the power of the media here in Philadelphia, especially the two sports radio stations 94-WIP, which I have worked for, for decades and 97.5 The Fannatic, which has built quite a following of its own.

It took former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly awhile to realize how powerful these radio voices were, but Pederson already knows their power.  He knows you’ve got monitor them and stay on top of stories that start there and grow.

The belief that the Eagles number one quarterback job was up for grabs this season had been started by NFL Network reporter Albert Breer and was growing in steam because the two sports radio stations were promoting  it.  Eagles back up quarterback Chase Daniel’s agent was probably the source for Breer’s story that the Kansas City quarterback was coming in to battle for the starting job.

Before saying anything else yesterday at the news conference, the new Eagles head coach cleared up the talk of any quarterback battle.

“Right now, going forward, Sam Bradford is the No. 1,” Pederson said during his opening statement. “Chase Daniel is the No. 2 and then we’re working on the No. 3. I just want to put that out there right now going forward.”

From what little I have seen of Daniel, I think he is a copy of Alex Smith, who is the ultimate “check down Charlie”.  Like Smith, Daniel is a good athlete, who a smart, conservative decision-maker and he throws the ball to the underneath receivers 80% of the time.  Daniel, like Smith does not have a great arm, but he is a quick decision-maker and he’s accurate with his throws.  Only a few times a game would he take shots down the field for big plays.  Daniel, like Smith is going to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers and let them do their thing.

You can win a lot of games with this type of quarterback, especially, if you have a good running game and a good defense.  Daniel knows the importance of not turning over the football.

Good job by Pederson to come in and straighten that out quickly. The media loves a good QB controversy to stoke up…but there is no controversy at all…Sam Bradford is the No#1 and I think he is going to have a good year!

Bradford is ahead of the more mobile butt fumbler and a guy who threw 77 total NFL passes at age 29.

“I think he is a copy of Alex Smith, who is the ultimate “check down Charlie” SOUNDS JUST LIKE BRADTURD

Like Smith, Daniel … throws the ball to the underneath receivers 80% of the time” YOU TALKING ABOUT SAM OR DANIEL? MUST BE DANIEL I THINK BRADFORD THROWS TO THE UNDERNEATH RECEIVERS 85%

Daniel, like Smith does not have a great arm, but he is a quick decision-maker and he’s accurate with his throws. Only a few times a game would he take shots down the field for big plays. WAIT WE TALKING ABOUT SAM AGAIN?

Daniel, like Smith is going to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers and let them do their thing.” NAH NOT BRADTURD

wow, Sanchez gets a job before RG3, the Broncos liked Mark Sanchez at $5million a year more than RG3- bwahahahaahaha. . 3 days into free agency and nobody wants RG3? Wonder if it is money or no NFL believes in him ?

Hinkie’s 76ers rebuild plan suffers another setback.
Jahlil Okafor knee injury – Nerlans says Okafor in a brace – Brett Brown won’t deny Okafor done for season ” Anything is possible.”
This franchise is cursed, a black cloud follows them.

when you repeatedly and publicly play to lose you create bad mojo– when you trade players who can help you win actual games being played you get what you deserve-
Embid who looks like an absolute beast but has bad wheels- Okafor, I’m just not sure about that guy…. and noel is a nice player but… 8 wins, a losing culture, hurt players…. trust the process? yeah right!

Reported as a Torn Meniscus for Okafor, likely going to miss the next 5-6 Weeks which is basically the rest of the Season..
76ers will have to hit the Re-Start Button for their nucleus of Noel, Okafor, Embiid, Saric with no Guards is just not getting it done..
They are so far behind even the Average Teams that they are 5-6 Years away from competing at this pace of development … Some has to give and will shaken up for Jerry Colangelo is not waiting around for 5 Years to see Hinkies plan come together.. Noel is nothing Special and a Back-up15 minutes a Game Player for his Defense only ashisTrade Value has really fallen .. Okafor is a huge Defensive liability who can’t Play the 4 or 5 Position at the NBA level.. Yes, he’ll score 20 Points a game but give up 25-28 points to whoever is going against him… Hes not tough enough either and gets manhandled down low
Covington has taken a step back and also can’t play Defense at the NBA level
Stauskus is a 5-10 minute Game who can’t play Defense
Ish Smith is fun to watch and makes this Team go Offensively but again,he cannot stop the Ball, opposing Guards have career games against him almost every night
This Franchise is not 2-3Players away, they are more like 6-7 Players away and need to get tougher & more physical…
If Embiid is the player he was 3 Years ago, which I seriously doubt, then they are still 4-5 Years away from just being a .500 Team
If Embiid ends up an injured bust due to his feet, then 76ers are right back at Square 1 with little to no hope with this current regime (Hinkie & Brown & Colangelo)
Same old path as in the last 4 Years has not amounted to anything but more losing and most of this Roster has not really bonded and meshed together as you would expect with the Good Coaching they are supposed to be receiving ?

The Hinkie-ites certainly have been quiet lately– they are beyond embarrassing– is their a more harsh word than embarrassing that i can use?
They have been playing with two lottery picks and are a record breaking bad team-They have a third lottery pick who is 7’2″ with two foot surgeries- the two lottery picks that are playing are not compatible, one terrible offensively the other terrible defensively — they will again draft a shiny toy (maybe simmons) who is 12 years old and nowhere near ready for the NBA–
come on Stinky-ites tell me where i’m wrong!!!!!!!

Even the Bad Teams in the NBA Win 25% -30% of their Games over the course of 82 Games due to parity and travel and the 76ers cannot even do this with young, fresh, supposedly hungry players trying to make a name for themselves..they’ll be lucky to Win 15% of their Games.. Anyway you look at it,
They have take another step back .. What happened to Guard Kenyon Marshall?
Does he even Play for this bad Team?

off season for the eagles has been pretty solid. nothing too flashy but a lot of cleaning up the mess.
coaches clean up – check
qb stability for short term – check
rid team of sanchez, maxwell, murray – check
add gritty defensive players – check
improve draft position – check
improve offensive line – check

I think the team is in a better state than they were a month ago. Now to have a solid draft and gel.

day 4 of Free Agency RG3 still available. Will visit NY Jets today. Dying to know the amount of money he wants and/or accepts if he signs. Cannot believe 2 NFL teams would rather give the Eagles a 7th round draft choice for a Matt Barkley or a Mark Sanchez than sign RG3. I didn’t think he would fall this far. I still think he gets signed to be at least a 2nd string QB, I don’t think he is just a camp body QB like GJ Kinny, is he? Will the contract have zero signing bonus & only activate if he makes the 53 man roster?

I think RG3 ends up in LA with the Rams but will not get a Starters Job or a Decent Contract handed to him and yes, he has fallen quite far in the eyes of most Football people.. He’s probably looking at a 2-3 Year Deal for $7 to $9 Million and will have to prove himself all over again
I believe Jets resign Fitzpatrick for it makes little sense for them to start over with the weapons/chemistry they had last year with Marshall/Decker & Fitzpatrick and now add in RB Matt Forte to their Offense could be quite good

The 49ers with Kaepernick situation is still unsettled..
Does new HC H Jacksonwant to work with Kapernick or Draft a Young QB with that 2nd Pick of the Draft..?
