Eagles Hosting Carson Wentz, Jared Goff And Dak Prescott

JaredGoff12Last week, the Eagles brain trust of Jeffrey Lurie, Howie Roseman, and Doug Pederson  went to the universities of the draft’s top quarterbacks, now they will be having those QB’s pay a visit to the Nova Care Complex.  According to ESPN’s Adam Caplan, the Eagles will be hosting North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, Dak Prescott of Mississippi State, and Jared Goff of California.

If the Eagles are bluffing as some are accusing them of, they’re doing a good job of it.  I personally think they’re doing their homework.  They’ll evaluate what it’s going to take them to move up and get one of the top quarterbacks.  They could wind up drafting guy like Stanford’s Kevin Hogan later in the draft and developing him over a couple of years.

Everybody is speculating about what all this focus by the Eagles on the quarterbacks means.  Are the Birds only in love with Wentz?  How do they feel about Goff and Paxton Lynch?  Are they willing to pay a King’s Ransom to the Tennessee Titans to move up and get him?  We’ll know that in the near future.

Despite all the talk about Wentz, Goff might be the better fit of the West Coast Offense because he supposedly has the better accuracy, which in vital in the WCO.  He’s regarded as further ahead in his pocket awareness than Wentz.  Would the Birds settle for Goff is he fell to them?  Or would they move up if he fell to the five or six spot?  There are a tremendous number of scenario’s that you have to think about when trying to anticipate what is going to happen on April 28th.

Yesterday, I questioned the thinking of the Eagles moving up to draft Wentz, but if they were able to trade Sam Bradford and his contract to a team desperate for a quarterback, it might be the move to make, along with sliding up to the top pick.  I have to agree with the thinking that you can never have too many good quarterbacks.  The only question that remains is how high do the Eagles rate Wentz and how high do other teams rate Bradford.

There are always teams in the league, who don’t have a decent quarterback and would be willing to give up just about anything to get one of them.

Really interesting to see which one of these guys the Eagles take in a cuple of weeks. Hopefully they’ll work out for the 2017 season and beyond.

The vision of Sam pumping iron ,with Kool barking out at him ,while the “franchise ” Qbs workout ,is poetic justice ..

I believe in addition to the the Eagles loving Wentz and Goff, I believe they are really high on QB Connor Cook..

Wouldn’t surprise me if they avoid showing him any interest during this pre draft process then look to draft him.. the kid has talent thru the roof

I have to wonder (as I did with Foles Koolidiot) what must be going through Sammy Sevens mind right now.

His confidence level cannot be high. A former #1 pick – lauded and celebrated coming out of college. Then traded. Then signed to a weasly one year deal while watching players like Osweiller get multi-year deals, and then to be reminded daily of the Eagles’ love affair with these QBs in the draft.

Wining, dining, visiting, having them come in. Has anyone ever seen the Eagles on a QB “search” like this?

So he has to be rattled.

Is he also pissed at his agent?

And what might be his feelings toward the coaching/management staff who clearly had their fingers crossed behind their backs with the whole “we love you Sam – you’re the man!” while at the same time jetting all over the country wooing his replacement. Is he angry. Does he feel betrayed (he should)

And the most important question: How will he respond??

Does he seem to anyone to be the kind of guy to “rise” to the challenge. Rip off 12 wins with 38 tds? Grab the bull by the horns and earn a 6 year 120 mill extension?

Does Slumpy Sammy, who has only beaten 4 different +.500 teams over his pathetically disappointing career, seem like that kind of guy??

He has to wonder as well if he’s again a pawn in the draft ? He wanted a no trade clause ,and tried in vain ,to obtain one.His rear. View mirror mentality (looking over his slouched shoulders) defines him ..but ,he has 22 million reasons to not give a s–t

Dallas hosting several quarterbacks
Mon, 04 Apr 2016 13:54:58 -0700

California QB Jared Goff, North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz, Memphis QB Paxton Lynch, Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg, Michigan State QB Connor Cook and North Carolina State QB Jacoby Brissett will all be hosted by the Dallas Cowboys for pre-draft visits.

This must be a smoke-screen,,,, After all, Dallas has $20,835,000 against their cap next year for a quarterback, and $55,000,000 guaranteed for one quarterback. That’s more than the Eagles are spending on both Bradford and Daniel…

I’m joking of course – I don’t believe Dallas or the Eagles are attempting to fool anyone about their draft plans… Both teams are simply interviewing quarterbacks and both teams will likely draft a quarterback. Where is anyone’s guess….

Conversley…even more smoke from teams like the Titans, Bucs, Jags and Ravens who are NOT brining in these players and are instead brining in OL DL DBs…..clearly that’s just a smokescrean to hide the fact that they ARE going to take Qbs?

Right? That’s the way the idiot theory goes right?

Eagles are visiting QBs just to “fake”interest in these players to drive up demand/excitement over the QBs they’ll be chosen early and the “real” targets the Eagles want want will fall to 8.

So conversley, the Ravens, Titans, Jags etc are only visiting OL, DE etc just to “fake”interest in these players to drive up demand/excitement over the OL and DL playerss they’ll be chosen early and the “real” targets the those teams want (QBs) will fall to them.

LOL

QB Fight in Denver….

Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez isn’t worried about the possible competition from San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick if Kaepernick is traded to the Broncos. Sanchez is focused on making the most of his opportunity and competing for the starting quarterback position. “I will be friendly and professional with whoever is there. But I want this bad. Really bad,” Sanchez said. “I want what [Denver] experienced last year.”

Bronco’s have very little $$$ to work with to Afford any High-Paying QB in 2016 which is why the Sanchez route or possible Trade talk for Tyrod Taylor of the Bills.. They have about $1.5 Million under the Cap and some Veterans they can Cut like OT Ryan Clady, and then have a couple of High-dollar Veterans that maybe they can re-structure current Deals with like CB A Talib, WR D Thomas…

Carson Wentz – QB – Player
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein reports the Eagles are “trying to find a way to get” North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz.
“I know (coach) Doug Pederson loves him,” Zierlein said in a radio interview. “I know that from people behind the scenes, in the know. That’s who he wants and that’s who he likes. It’s just going to be tough.” It’s going to be tough because there’s a chance Wentz doesn’t make it past the Browns at No. 2 overall. The Eagles pick at No. 8. With vast resources already committed to Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel, the Eagles probably can’t surrender the kind of compensation that would be required to move up.

I’d love to see them get Wentz but you guys do realize that you can’t believe one word a coach or GM says….. On the one hand you have kool idiot desperately holding out hope based on what Pederson said about sideways…. On the other we’ve got pederson loving Wentz…. Both may be true, both may be false or some combination… Coach speak means NOTHING! …
It’s all misdirection, smoke screen, due diligence etc…
