Cox, Peters, & Sproles Are No-Shows At Eagles Workouts

JasonPeters71The Eagles had voluntary workouts this week at the Nova Care Complex and the entire team was there except for three veteran players.  According to Howard Eskin, All-Pro defensive tackle Fletcher Cox in the Eagles new 4-3 defense wasn’t there.  Neither was the guy, who is still the key player on the Birds offensive line, offensive left tackle Jason Peters.

The other player has been one of the Birds best offensive player during his years with the team and I’m talking about running back Darren Sproles.

Nobody is alarmed by any of the absences because these are all voluntary workouts and each of the players that didn’t come have a reputation of keeping themselves in great condition.  Everybody knows that Cox is healthy and in great shape, but he probably wants to show the Birds that he isn’t thrilled about not having a long-term contract.

Peters is getting up there in the years and he had plenty of back spasm problems last year with sidelined him.  The big guy normally likes to train by himself..

According to Jimmy Kimpski of PhillyVoice.com, Sproles has the blessing of the Eagles to not be at the workouts because he’s working out in California and coaching one of his kid’s teams.  I don’t think there are any concerns about Sproles.
