There’s been much talk and numerous reports about the Eagles are moving up in the draft and getting one of the top quarterbacks such as Carson Wentz or Jared Goff.   Who really knows what the Eagles are going to do, because I have been told by people who are close to the Birds decision-makers that they’re not sure of what they’re going to do in the draft just yet.

The Birds have the eighth pick which means, they don’t know who is going to be there when they make their pick. Even if they want to move up to number one, they can’t be sure what Tennessee will require for them to give up the pick until they make that move.

Earlier this week, NFL reporter Ben Allbright was on the Josh Innes Show on 94WIP said the Eagles aren’t going to move up in the draft to get a quarterback or any other position.  He says they’re going to stay put at the number eight spot and pick a quarterback in one of the latter rounds.

Allbright thinks that quarterback is going to be Stanford’s Kevin Hogan, who is a tremendous athlete who needs to correct his throwing delivery, which is considered much too long.  He’s also not the most accurate passer, which needs to improve. He’s got size at 6’4″ 220 pounds and good straight ahead speed, but Hogan doesn’t have good quickness or the ability to make good tacklers miss.

“They were very enamored with Hogan, the quarterback out of Stanford in the later or mid-rounds,” Allbright said. “Think they can get him and make him a project since they’ve got Chase [Daniel] and they’ve got Sam [Bradford] on the roster for a year or two. They think they can work on him and make him something. So look at Kevin Hogan, might be a mid-round guy.”

Hogan has a gun of an arm.  He’s very bright, which will allow him to master an offense in due time.  He has shown he can get the job done under pressure in big games and the guy is a winner.

Hogan is expected to go in the third to fifth round, but you know when the draft gets near, NFL player personnel people and head coaches get quarterback fever.  Quarterback prospects look better and better the closer the draft gets.

As for the Eagles and other positions, Allbright alerted us about the Birds have fallen in love with two players at other positions, who are said to be game-changers.

“And then Vernon Hargreaves, the corner, the defensive back there,” Allbright said. “They’re really enamored with him and a worst case scenario is that he falls in their lap at [number] eight [overall] as well, so that’s just another name to keep an eye on.”

“I do know they’re bringing Ezekiel Elliott in for a visit,” Allbright said. “He’s there [Wednesday] and they are definitely interested in Ezekiel Elliott.

“They are scared that the Dallas Cowboys, who have floated both Carson Wentz and Jalen Ramsey rumors lately, could be in the mix for Ezekiel Elliott as well.”

Now here is a report that makes sense. We can get Hogan probably in the 4th round, and he would be a nice pick up. Smart kid, needs some seasoning…a kid I dont think is all that much behind Goff or Wertz in talent. Bring the kid in with no major pressure and let him sit on the bench and learn, grow and develop! Who knows maybe in 4-5 years he may be a nice QB or he can turn into trade bait.

Every reporter seem to know what the Eagles are going to do…

Funny they all have the inside track that the Eagles really want a QB…

But none of them had the same ‘inside track’ on the Eagles resigning Sam Bradford!

Strange indeed…we will find out on draft day…the real deal

Albright…this is the same Albright who made the report about Shady McCoy being guilty and possibly locked up for the fight in the Recess Lounge. He is a Josh Innes guy who I give very little credibility to.
As of now, no reports of the Eagles interviewing either Hargreaves or spending much time with Hogan post combine, working them out or bringing them in. They have more time and space to bring in these guys, but as of now, no reports linking these guys to the Eagles. Kool, you are right about one thing for sure, we will see what happens come draft day. Just two weeks away.

pman you are correct, they did workout at Hogan during a visit at Stanford…along with the Guard Garnett. Due diligence…the Eagles love Wentz, Hogan, Elliot, Hargreaves…..they are going to draft all of them…just shows how ridiculous this all is. We will see. Gotta bring Hogan in for a visit.

I like Kevin Hogan… He’s Smart, Good in the Huddle and a Leader with a Solid Arm…he’s improved his footwork & mechanics during this run up to the Draft working out QB Guru (Danny Weurful) who has shorten up his throwing motion and has made a nice difference of him getting the ball out quicker with more velocity & accuracy..
He will likely be on the Board in the 3rd Round for sure and possibly at #100 at the Top of the 4th ..
I would be fine with the Eagles Selecting Kevin Hoagan as a developmental QB

Best case scenario for the Eagles is
Wentz falls to 6 Eagles only give up #77 to swap with the Ravens
They then trade cox to the Packers for #27 and 4th and 5th Rd picks
Flip Bradford for Muhammad Wilkerson and a 4th Rd pick

Titans & Rams Made a Big Deal

Rams Send the Titans their 1st Pick (#15) both their 2nd’s (#43 & #45)
their 3rd Round (#76) as well as their 1st & 3rd Round Picks in the 2017 Draft
to the Titans for the Overall #1 Pick , 4th Round (#113) & 6th Round (#177)

Rams going after Carson Wentz per all Reports, With their new Move to LA, this was planned from last Year for the Rams Front Office where they were able to get out from Sam Bradford’s Deal and will now likely Trade QB Nick Foles to the Bronco’s for chump change

Eagles will now have to regroup as Carson Wentz will no longer be available
and the Browns will likely take Jared Goff…
This is a Great move by the Titans who need Picks,Picks,Picks and will now have 6 of the Top 76 Draft Picks to Surround QB Mariota & RB Murray with

and the titans will have 2 high number ones next year– theirs and the rams– both teams building around a young qb so it could feasibly be 2 top 10 picks… yikes!
birds draft stanley– or i’m even thinking elliott although i hate backs that high in draft— give sideways protection or a weapon and slump on in with a 9-7 record and hope for the best–

Rams desperate for a QB after having a failed Foles..make the deal…move and grab the #1 pick!!!

Its not looking good for you Bradford Haters…LMAO!

So if the Rams grab Wentz who will grab Goff…now

San Francisco…Dallas…Cleveland…

This is big…some major talent may be available for us to grab at 8!!

Who’s gonna grab Tunsil?

Look at what the Rams gave up…wow!!

“15th overall pick in this year’s draft, two second-round picks (43 and 45), and a third-rounder (76) in 2016. The Titans will also receive the Rams’ first-round pick in 2017, along with their third-round pick in next year’s draft.”

What a cruel twist of irony. The Rams utilize the pick we gave them, as ammo in a trade to get their franchise qb, presumably for Wentz – a guy the Eagles allegedly wanted to replace the qb we gave the pick up for in the 1st place. Chip Kelley is indeed the gift that keeps on giving.

I am not sure where KB is getting the Eagles “Pushed the Market” ??
Everyone knows that the Top 2 QB’s in Wentz/Goff are going early in this Draft regardless of what Teams move up to do so it’s not like any additional Players are Dropping down to the Eagles..
When you have the Browns, 49ers,Eagles,Rams all looking for there next Franchise QB’s as well as Teams like the Cowboys,Broncos looking towards the Future at QB.. These 2 Players (Wentz/Goff) were not going to make it Down to the #8 Position.. If Teams really like these 2 QB’s then you have to move up into the Top #3 and now the Top #2 to get any one of them which is what I and most people have been saying since February

TWO second round picks for a overrated, overhyped rookie that simply is not that good…and may be a big bust!

Let me ask you a question. Do you know this was a smokescreen by the Eagles? Do you know that they didn’t want to trade up to take Wentz? If you can’t answer these questions with certainty, then you are lending to much credence to a theory that you and Kool have. For all we know they really wanted to move up to #1, but got outbid.

They are still obviously not comfortable in their QB situation since they paid $7 million a year to a backup and they have worked out almost every qb in the draft. That is the most elaborate smokescreen that I have ever seen.

There is no way Wentz or Goff would have made it to 15 in any scenario – whether teams were pimping those guys in the press or not.

Rams made an independant decision to move up to get one of them. End of story.

Nothing that was said in the press about teams “interest” had influence on the Rams decision to trade up for a guy that would, in no scenario, have made it to 15.

The 76ers might fire head coach Brett Brown and promote Mike D’Antoni, according to a report.
Ken Berger of CBS reports, “if D’Antoni, the Sixers’ associate head coach, gets offers elsewhere — besides Brooklyn, he could be a fit in Washington or Phoenix — then Colangelo may be tempted to let Brown go and bump D’Antoni up to head coach in order to keep him, sources say.” Brown’s job was thought to be safe, but it sounds like we could be in for some twists and turns in Philadelphia. Stay tuned.

This is not too surprising to read about,,, Bryan Colangelo is going to put “His Guy” (D’Antoni) in Place…

76ers Will like Draft Guard J Murray of Kentucky or and then
Trade Nerlens Noel to the Boston Celtics for Guard Marcus Smart and Build from there..

Dammit. That is awful. They basically just used Brett Brown and then brought in coach with a carerer .516 winning %. That is bringing in a culture of winning? D’antoni hasn’t wan anything.

D’Antonio stinks. I dont necessarily care about Brett Brown as I dont really see any of these kids progressing but not for D’Antonio!!!! Guy only has a job because he once coached a loaded nash, stoudamire, matrix, raja bell, barbosa, jalen rose team. that squad made him and he still living on them 10 years later. this would not surprise me and i would hate it

in defense of Brown, how could any of the kids progress when they don’t play consistently because of nagging injuries?

D’antoni will be the worst thing that happened to this team.

But D’Antoni Teams Run up and down the Court, Score at Will but Play Little to No Defense but are entertaining to Watch… They Lose Games 120 to 110 and the Young Players like to Play his Style for its Fun..

Paul, both Marcus Smart, and Jamal Murray stink…..

Murray, is this years version of Gary Harris, and Smart was never what some who were high on him, thought he was.

Damn he’s been awesome in Both his Starts…
Heck the Phillie Starters from Hellickson, Nola,Velasquez and Eickoff have all Pitched well and are getting it done… If the Phils Offense can Score 4 Runs a Game, they will Win some Games and maybe hang around .500 in the NL East…
With the Good Pitching the Phillies Games are over fast too…

This time last year the padres were in a position to compete for the west… They are terrible now. The Phil’s have done a lot right in the last year and a half…they are becoming a fun team to watch. Franco is an MVP caliber player… They have 3 young pitchers who are middle to top of rotation types, maybe not an ace although Valasquez certainly showed that type of stuff.
They really need 4 position players still in the minors to make the jump….Afalo, Williams, Crawford, and one more…then just keep the young arms coming.

Well when everyone was whining for prospects I was saying careful what you wish for and I was crucified.
There were many prospects trade by the phils and the Philadelphia got some in return for pence…. None of them either way seem to be working out. It’s mlb prospect to stud is a huge crater
