Sam Bradford Should Take The Reins From His Agent

SamBradfordNews1I understand why Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford believes in his agent Tom Condon.  After all, Condon has helped Bradford make $89 million dollars up to this point and the quarterback will pocket an additional $11 million this coming season.

Bradford has also followed Condon’s orders not to talk to Eagles coaches and front office people.  He’s putting all of his faith Condon, who I would agree has done a good job for Bradford prior to demanding a trade.

I know Bradford wasn’t paying any attention to what the Eagles were doing prior to the draft, but Condon was paying attention.  He should have known there was a chance the Eagles might move up and draft Carson Wentz, Jared Goff or Paxton Lynch.

Condon should have known that once Bradford got that $11 million dollar payment, it would be very difficult for the Eagles to trade him.  Howie Roseman doesn’t want to take that cap hit for trading Bradford.

This was a mistake by Condon.  Now, he and his client can’t call the shots.  It’s Roseman and the Eagles who are calling the shots now.  Condon and Bradford can’t force the Eagles in to doing anything, but the Birds can make Bradford come and play.

The demand for a trade also make Bradford look bad to his teammates and the other teams around the NFL.  Who is going to be busting down the door to acquire a quarterback, who is reluctant to take on a challenge from a rookie.

This is the point where Bradford needs to realize he needs to take the reins from his agent.  If he stays out this season, he’s going to lose $11 million dollars and GM’s around the league are going to want no part of him.  His stock isn’t high now and missing a year is only going to see it get lower.

He needs to start acting and playing like a “Franchise Quarterback”.  Let everybody know that you’re confident in your abilities.

I would like to see him come in here to the mandatory workouts and let everybody know that he’s not relinquishing the starting job.   He needs to let everybody know that he’s going to lead the Eagles to the playoffs.

If he does this he will get the fans and media off his back.  Come in and tell everybody that you had put the decision-making in the hands of you agent and now you have taken it back.  Now you want to show everybody what you can do.

You end the news conference with, “Let’s Play Ball”.

Sam Bradford should have no problem coming in here and playing with his future on the line.  The guy is a talented passer.  If he can get everybody on the same page, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they won the NFC East.

If they win the NFC East, he can give the reins back to Condon because there will be ten teams calling the Eagles wanting a trade.

Mr Cobb I know you dont remember but Is it true that sammy boy, used to be a lead singer for an old rocker group called Sam the Sham and the Pharohs?Or perhaps I am mistaken, At any rate he is /was/ always will be a total Sham . I would pay to see L.T. in his mean junk yard dog glory days have a laser bead bearing in on the Sham.Jaws somehow always got up , dont believe the Sham would .

Condon’t “its not a true competition” line really bugs me.

Because there is a true competition. In fact there are two. The first is for the Eagle’s job next year. The second is against about 50% of the other QBs in the league for a job on another team.

The instant I saw the details of Bradford’s deal I recognized it for what it was. The Eagles could have slapped the $19.9 tag on the guy for one year. Instead, just in case Bradford “balled out” Howie paid what amounts to a 10% premium insurance policy to protect the Eagles in case Bradford played really, really well.

All along it was a one year (franchise tag) deal with a 10% control his rights insurance policy.

It was a one year deal. It is a one year deal. It is/was a deal where Bradford is auditioning for the rest of the league.

There IS true competition. If Bradford is a “top 5” QB, and he lights it up to the tune of 30+ TDs and 10- ints…then he’ll have a bevy of teams knocking on the Eagles’ door…….

He’s competing (like every other player does) with every other Eagles QB, and every other QB in the league.

Problem is……..he doesn’t have the makeup to handle a true competition like this.

bradfords camp fumbled (how ironic)– roseman made the point that in the next 2 years so many good teams will need a QB because theirs is aging and there will be a run on QB’s– bradford could be/should be chomping at the bit: brady, breese, rivers, manning, romo, palmer, big ben–not to mention all the aging backups who get paid good money
plus the eagles were clear– there is NO COMPETITION– bradturd is the starter.

don’t worry about Sammy Boy – completing 55 total NFL passes in 7 years & holding a clipboard with Motorola headphones on is worth 7 million a year in 2016.

If the Sham man has 3 or 4 mediocre or downright deer in the headlight outings,I cant see him as the starter very long . especially with the angry, drunken, screaming. judgemental booing, hateful, fans as myself ,on the Sham mans case.Cant see the # 2 overall draft choice holding a clipboard all year.He will not be the first rookie to start quickly.2 or 3 did in the last year or 2. Not exactly sacred ground for a rookie to start over a confused multi millionaire where one man has more money than the entire stadium combined,

Baloney…

G you keep spewing the crap…stop it…its total BS and it is easy to see that its BS

When you draft a guy No#2 in the draft there is no “competition”

When you trade important assets to move up to draft a guy No#2 in the draft there is absolutely no competition whatsoever.

Bradford at best is a seat warmer at this point…He knows it, his teammates know it, the Eagles know it, and Wentz knows it!

Doug Pederson was not in ‘competition’ with McNabb in 1999 at all…

The Eagles should have let Bradford walk and simply signed Chase Daniels! Howie screwed up by thinking that Bradford would just go along…

We are not hearing any rumblings from the Players complaining about Sam Bradford…they all know he got a raw deal, the shaft…

The Eagles should trade Bradford and take the cap hit…create harmony on the team…and go with the kid. Carson Wentz needs playing experience against big time NFL players…he doesn’t need to sit on the bench to learn…he needs to learn in the heat of battle, he needs to lead the league in interceptions like Manning did…and then come back the next year having learned the job better…

Sam Bradford was snookered by the Eagles…fine…and Howie should try to get as much as he can for Bradford…but what the Eagles would be better served in trying to do is trade him…simple as that and get the best you can before training camp.

There is absolutely no reason to have a disgruntled, vet QB on the team poisoning the atmosphere and the team spirit…you drafted Carson Wentz so its time to go with him…Period.

I just pray that the Eagles are right about this kid…they better be right…or else it is a pure disaster!

If a team offered the right compensation in terms of draft picks then the Eagles would most likely trade Bradford. The Eagles would be foolish to just trade him away for whatever a team decided to give them. Bradford is an asset. Perhaps during the season a QB will go down and a team will get desperate and give up a 2nd for Bradford. The Eagles are in the position of leverage and owe Sam Bradford nothing more than what they have given him according to his contract. This is business, Sam is not doing himself or the Eagles any favors…but the Eagles did him a favor by signing him to that contract. Hold onto Bradford is the smart business move. It may pay dividends down the road. The Eagles should not make a move based emotions and feelings, let Bradford be emotional if he wants..the Eagles should do what’s best for them business wise. It’s about the Philadelphia Eagles..not Sam Bradford.

G Cobb ,I really don’t think Sam needs an apologist ..Playing the agent card is weak ,on top of his pity party and drama …baggage he’s just not worth the aggravation …he’s the most delusional 100 million dollar arm for hire in the NFL ..I can’t blame an agent ,when there strategy is to emasculate his guy …neuter him and hold up the trophy …it’s up to Sam to say …No ! As usual however ,he’s a quieted obedient church mouse …Which is why he’ll never lead with confidences of others in battle .and overcoming adversity ..it’s not in his DNA ..I feel absolutely pissed that he’s already cost us an opportunity during the draft ,with his antics ,he was kryptonite …he might have just as well had himself with a gas mask on Twitter …watching the Eagles taking Wentz..I’m not interested in deflecting any of the burden on Sam …he got his coin ,he signed ,he just needed deliver ..the pity party won’t sell in philly ..Hell be personally an non gratis ..Wentz will be wearing a cape and rescue us ….book it

Bradford has little choice but to show up and play. If he plays well, he will be playing for another team next year. If he is beaten out or hurt, he may be out of football.

God damn Terrell Owens roasted bradturd

“I think it was not a great move for Sam to want to request a trade being that they were getting a No. 1 pick,” said Owens. “For me, that’s kind of a sign of a coward, to be honest. But again, if you’re […] secure in your abilities, it shouldn’t matter who they’re drafting or who’s coming in.”

“That should really kind of motivate you and prepare you for the best season you could probably ever have. I like competition. So with that request, it just seems like he’s not really comfortable in his own skin and what he can do.”

When Healthy, Reed is more Dynamic that Zac Ertz and a Top Tier TE..
With the Redskins Draft WR Doctson , you would have to think that Garcon is in his final Year with the Team as his Contracy is up and probably the same with D-Jax as well, unless he bounces back and has a strong 2016 Season..

I like Reed’s game but he is fragile like Gronk, risky. I like when Washington uses him out of the backfield, gives him a running start against linebackers.
I thought the Eagles were going to add a FB in the draft but it didn’t happen. Maybe Trey Burton gets some backfield snaps. Before we saw the Chipper’s offense we thought they were going to run a Gronk / Aaron Hernadez 2 TE passing attack which never was attempted. Maybe Pederson runs a 2 TE offense with Celek and Ertz with Burton substituting/ sharing snaps since a FB wasn’t added.

Sam’s trade request is the right play for Sam but it should have been made internally and quietly.

Sam has killed his image with fans and possibly with teammates.

The Eagles are able to use Sam’s public display to say to veterans…Hey we were trying to win now and invest in the future but Sam won’t capitulate. This will allow the kid to take over this team when he shows his skills and leadership.

Sam has helped ensure the very thing he has concern about( Wentz taking over sooner) happens.

They need to get him out of town ASAP.
