Say What You Want, The Future Is Still Carson Wentz

Bradford&Wentz1Eagles head coach Doug Pederson made it very clear that despite giving up everything but the kitchen sink to get young Carson Wentz, Sam Bradford will be the guy starting the season behind center.

“You know what, (his relationship with Bradford) has been great,” Pederson said while talking about the QB’s return to the team. “I’ve actually talked to Sam since he’s been back and I told him my feelings haven’t changed. He’s my guy. He’s the No. 1 guy and I just want him to embrace that and let’s not look backward, but look forward.”

“My feelings haven’t changed, ” Pederson said. “He’s my guy. He’s the No. 1 guy. I just want him to embrace that. … I expect Sam to not look over his shoulder.  I expect Sam to look forward. … That is the message I gave him.”

“I expect Sam not to look over his shoulder,” Pederson said. “I expect Sam to look forward. He’s getting himself ready for the season. He’s getting ready for Cleveland. That’s what I expect from Sam.”

I’ll give Pederson credit for saying everything he can say to make us believe that Bradford is the Eagles quarterback for this season, but everything is about Carson Wentz right now with the Eagles.  The only reason he isn’t starting is because they want him to have success when they make him the starter.  They don’t want to run the risk of putting him in there too soon.

If at any point this season, they feel the youngster is ready to play and could enjoy some success this season, they’re going to bench Bradford and play Wentz.  Everything is about Wentz.

I still believe that Bradford should prepare to play his best because he signed a contract which is going to pay him $22 million dollars this season, So he should get ready to play regardless of what they decide to do with Wentz.

Despite the draft picks that was given up to get Wentz, Bradford could play well enough to make it difficult or nearly impossible for the Eagles to make Wentz the starter.   If he were to lead the Eagles to the playoffs, or better than to the playoffs and a victory, or maybe to the NFC Championship game, they may not be able to start Wentz late in the season or next year.

Bradford will have to play better than he ever has in his entire NFL career for the Wentz not to take over later this season or next year.  It’s not impossible, but it’s not likely.

Any eagle fan who believes that the eagles ,are inching closer to a super bowl in the next 15 years is one uninformed, fan, With all of their bold. moves, recent and distant , they are looking as hapless as ever for a ring .I hope mr .luriie takes the same drugs for youth, longevity our ex presidents take, because he is gonna need it to still be alive for a super bowl appereance, by the eagles.Meanwhile big reds chiefs may win the super bowl this year. With a big, nasty defense. And a much aligned Q.B.

We’re going Simmons.. there is no other option in my eyes.. keep the pick and draft that stud Ben Simmons

This is a win for us true Sixers fans… We deserved this!!!

It was a No-Brainer that the 76ers would get the #1 Overall Pick for this Draft as a payback for the 76ers letting Jerry Colangelo come in and help the NBA Basically get rid of Sam Hinkle..
76ers will Draft Ben Simmons, then Trade Jahil Okafor to the Chicago Bulls for a Guard whose body is breaking down and go from there

New Orleans would probably give the Sixers their pick of their guards ( Evans, Gordon, Holiday ) for the their other first round pick #24 or #26. Those 3 are even in durability and talent with Derrick Rose now and cheaper in trade cost and years on contract.

Too much imo. Ur essentially giving them the 2nd pick in last years draft plus a future top 5 for the 2 this year. Way too much imo. Okafor alone for Ingram is too much although I’d do it to start building a real team..,

But I think the prudent thing is to retain everyone unless we can get buddy. But oak for buddy is too much so I don’t know how we get him.

I’d give our 2 late round 1st rounders this year and Noel for buddy

It is just dumb to consider trading Okafor.

Any deal for a player, or draft pick should include Noel – He just isn’t special.

Ben Simmons is all that should be thought about drafting at #1 should only be Ben Simmons – Brandon Ingram can’t touch him – and anyone that says that he is Kevin Durant is an absolute idiot – that includes Keith Pompay, and Brandon Brooks who I respect.

My overrated 2016 nba draft team is lead by Jamal Murray, Devonta Davis, Denzel Valentine, Skal Labisseire, Malachi Richardson, and Brice Johnson.

Don’t overthink it Ben Simmons.

I agree Mhenski, but he has to be part of any deal, that may include future draft picks, or whatever. But Trading Okafor a 20/10 guy is dumb for a team that needs scorers.

Get rid of the things that aren’t so special, to make the team special – Screw Noel. He can go home and clean his poopy toilets.

Hinke sets up Sixers for the next couple years. Next year the Lakers still have a protected top 3 pick but if its not in top 3 its ours and in 2018 its unprotected. Plus the Sixers can still swap picks with Sacremento who is a dumpster fire with Rondo going and Cousins likey out so you will probably at the top of the lottery again.

Enough with trading Okafor. Embiid has not played 1 minute in the NBA yet. Not one GD minute. I am not trading a guy who is a legit inside presence for someone who has never played because of serious foot issues.

You trade Okafor and keep Embiid. Embiid can’t play or gets hurt again and you go from 2 big men to 0 big men. I know that we keep hearing how great he looks but I am still not convinced.

And don’t bring that silly “trade Okafor to LA for Russell” garbage either. That guy is a knucklehead and I don’t think hat the is going to be a very good shooter in the league.

If Simmons is the pick and they want him to facilitate, then they need 2 guards that can shoot. They currently have 0 guards that can shoot.

Embiid has played a Total of 28 Basketball Games and been on the Court for
a total of 650 Minutes since the 2013 Basketball Season… To expect much of anything from him in 2016 is simply wishful thinking.. He has very little Basketball Experience to begin with and needs as many reps and playing time as possible to make up for his lack of Overall Playing Experience. He Played 1 Season at Kansas and still missed 10 Games his only Season in there and hasn’t played a minute in the NBA since being Drafted 2 Years ago

Sixers have the resources to land:
Kevin Love, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, James Harden, Chris Paul, Lamarcus Aldridge, Chris Bosh, Dennis Rodman Mark Aguire, Alonso Mourning, Robert Horry. Guarantee quality starters.

They have the Colangelos now — Start for the moon and try to match up Anthony Davis and Kevin Durrant. If New Orleans can’t sign Anthony Davis the Sixers have Okafor, Nerlans, Saric, Embiid, first overall pick right now, #24, #26, Lakers 1st, Kings 1st, All their draft picks going forward to offer.

Nerlans is the better player.
You have that draft pick on the wrong side of that trade proposal. The West is desperate for Centers to defend against Anthony,Aldridge, Towns and rebound against Adams and Jordan for the next 5 years. You are under valuing the worth of Nerlans.

bugsyhawk

May 18, 2016 3:42 pm

Nerlens is a role player that the Sixers do not need with who they have and who they will draft. Buddy may be a role player as well, but it is a role that the Sixers sorely need in that he can actually shoot. They currently have no one on the roster that can shoot. Covington is garbage. Now maybe giving up the pick and Noel may be too much for Buddy, but I would rather have him than Noel.

There was an either in my post but I meant both. People hype up Noel for his defense but it ain’t all that. He ain’t bodying up Towns Aldridge or any skilled big. Vuc absolutely destroys him. Nerlins gets some nice blocks and he’s very agile so he’s always getting steals but he ain’t locking down any big in this league.
