Sam Bradford Said All The Right Things

SamBradfordPodium1Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford has a good arm, but hasn’t shown an adept ability to avoid the pass rush, but I give him credit for dodging the local sports media today.  He said all of the right things today at the news conference that Eagles fans were waiting for.

“I get it. They have every right to be frustrated,” Bradford said while talking about Eagles fans. “I think the only thing I can do going forward is to continue to get better. Go out there on Sundays in September, play good football, win football games and hopefully win them back. I don’t think there’s anything I can say, it’s all about my actions and what I do going forward.”

He couldn’t have said it any better.  Bradford knows that playing well is the only right answer.   If he doesn’t play well he’s going to get booed out of Philadelphia and rightfully so.  The good side of demanding a trade is getting a trade, the bad side of it is not getting traded and having to face the fans.

He took responsibility with no excuses.  The only person he pointed the finger at was his agent Tom Condon.  Bradford blamed Condon with coming up with the idea to force a trade.

“Tom Condon’s been my agent for my entire career and he’s a guy that I really trust,” he said. “At the time when we were going through this process he felt like this was the best option for me. Given that I trust him and know that he has my best interest at heart, I’m always going to follow his advice.”

I wouldn’t blame Bradford for taking the advice of somebody who has helped him make $100 million dollars.

Bradford also said he would have no problem helping his young teammate, Carson Wentz as he learns the NFL and Doug Pederson’s version of the West Coast offense.  Bradford knows who is going to be the Eagles starting quarterback in the near future.

“I’m not completely naive,” Bradford said. “If the organization made a move to No. 2, you realize that at some point, it’s not going to be my team.”

Sam’s #1,
Chase’s #2
Carson’s #3
and every Eagles fan wants to throw open mustard packets at Doug Pederson for saying that over and over and over again.

Only fans who don’t know much…or anything at all. It’s May, things can change, it’s coaches speak or if it’s not it’s just the direction they are going in a coach change year.
Again, please tell me why the money matters? No one can

So can anyone tell me again why its worth keeping this Turd Sam Bradford around for the 2016 Season just to get a 2017 3rd,4th or 5th Round Draft Pick… Screw that and going thru these type of Press-Conferences all Year Long.. Cut the Chord and Move On with Daniels/Wentz to Start the Season with Wentz taking over by Week #10 unless Daniel’s has the Eagles in Playoff Contention but I see no Reason at all to Keep Sam Bradford in Philadelphia.. The Eagles were stupid enough to Sign him to that 2 Year Deal so if they have to eat $11 Million or $22 Million in 2016 Cap Space, then so be it… They had no Reason in early March to even conduct Negotiations with Sam Bradford until they explored nad exhausted their Negotiations with Chase Daniels… just bad, bad, bad Roster Management right there ..
Once Eagles would have signed Chase Daniels, Bradford would have either booked to another Club or if he remained, it would have been at a Fraction of his Salary… Waiting a Week in Free-Agency was not going to Hurt or Delay this Eagles Rebuild Job, but by then, the playing field for QB’s in Free-Agency would have mostly been known.. Roseman had all the leverage and blew it by rushing to SiIgn a Player who was not very much in Demand
It will be nice when he’s gone…

We gave up a few picks to move up paulman. Howie is going to get one of them back by tradIng Sam In a hungry QB league next season.

U can never have enough draft picks. Not having a first year and 2nd the following can help tremendously by getting a 3rd back.

Let the rookie learn and give him the highest chance to succeed. We’re talking about the next 15 years. Not this 2016 season where we are changing coaching staffs and schemes all together.

Give the team the best chance to succeed. And that’s Sam Bradford for the 16 season. Let the man ball out of his mind and give us something back in return to make us better when Carson takes over.

The chip era will be completely gone, with howie laughing in his face with what he replaced them with

The unrelenting Sam Bradford bashing continues…

The Eagles should have taken the deal from Denver!

Doug Pederson’s press conference was plain ridiculous…there is no reason to sit Carson Wentz for a year to “learn how to handle the media” and “deal with teammates”…

Bullshit!

Go with the kid…if Carson Wentz is as special as you are saying-by moving up in the draft to get him-then he should play now! Russell Wilson came in and played right away,

Sam Bradford was set up…and he absolutely did the right thing by trying to force his way out…the Eagles blew it by asking Denver too much for him…

This is a move that the Eagles management screwed up and can only be rectified if Carson Wentz-a running QB-becomes the next Cam Newton.

If he doesn’t …we have set the franchise back for years to come!

There was no Deal with the Broncos…
They asked about Bradford’s availability and GM Roseman responded that it would take a 2nd Round in 2016 & a 2nd Round in 2017 at the minimum in which John Elway said No Thanks
Roseman should have worked the Broncos while they were discussing Mark Sanchez .. Either way, the Broncos cannot even afford Sam Bradford right now unless they cut a few Players.. They barely had Cap Space to sigh their Draft Picks..
There is little to almost No Market for Sam Bradford…
The 2010 Overall Top Pick & Promise & Hype was an eternity ago..
After this 2016 Season, He’s either a Back-Up or he more than likely,Retires..

That’s pure bull, Pman..

why would a team give up two 2nd rounders for Bradford…given his injury record? Elway was willing to do a reasonable deal…maybe one 2nd rounder and 4th or 5th rounder the next year…but two 2nd rounders was too much…
So now after mortgaging the future for Wentz, they stupidly want to sit him on the bench….dumb, stupid, and ridiculous!
You made the move, you drafted the kid..let him play…

Koolbreeze mhenski only agrees with your point that Carson Wentz should be starting, and that’s it. As far as the Sam Bradford bashing club mhenski is the ring leader the ultimate Sam Bradford hater of all haters. Mhenski has nothing else to do but talk about Bradford his brain is ruled by Sam Bradford. Mhenski talks about Bradford he writes about Bradford he has an avatar of Sam Bradford he jerks his dick to Sam Bradford, and when he goes down at night he dreams about Sam Bradford. I’m convinced mhenski loves Bradford because he simply can’t shut the fuck about him like ever. If Bradford doesn’t exist mhenski doesn’t exist that is how obsessed he is over Bradford. He wants Bradford’s money his girl, his cars, his house he wants Bradford’s autographed under armour jock. I think mhenski would have played a better role than Robert Deniro in that 1996 movie The Fan an obsessed weirdo who stalks a professional baseball player.

LOL. Like the Usual Suspects!!

Holy shit…Howie Roseman is Keyser Soze!!!!

well we know somethings never change

Vinniedafoolass, you are still an idiot and a fool

Sam Bradford was set up…he got the raw deal

He made the right play by asking to be traded and Denver was willing to take him off Eagles hands…

This would have allowed us to play Wentz…the kid who we have mortgaged the future for…to move up and get.

After making the moves the Eagles have made…only an idiot like you would argue that the kid should languish on the bench!

With our receivers and their drops, poor pass routes…the kid will at least learn how to use his legs…he is the kind of mobile QB that you love Vinniedafool!!!

Glad to be back Foolass…we see nothing as changed at all

Koolbreeze, how was Bradford set up? Condon knew what the FA market was for Bradford…nothing. That’s why Condon decided to let Bradford sign the 2 year deal. The Eagles told Bradford that they were drafting a QB, they told the media they were drafting a QB…perhaps he too thought it was a smokescreen. The Eagles never ever told Bradford they were signing him to see if he could stay healthy and lead the team to the playoffs, then if he did they would re-sign him to a long term contract. That was your narrative and your delusional plan, not the Eagles. If Sam Bradford feels set up it’s because he was reading your posts. If you feel Sam was being set up it’s because you talked yourself into what you wanted to believe, based on nothing of substance coming from the Eagles.
Sam Bradford was set up….smh…poor Sam…lmao…what a joke. Sam set his self up, he should have taken the deal Chip’s dumb ass offered him last year! Sam didn’t want to commit to the Eagles then, why should they commit to average Sam now? Two year deal which is actually only one when you look at the contract..but he signed it and knew what he was signing..but he was set up?!?! Sam takes no responsibility, nor do you enablers and sons of Sham smokescreen crew give him any. Pathetic!!!

They gave up a 17 first and an 18 second. They gave a 4 and got one back…. And add in the fifth .So doing the math it’s not much …. absolutely is not a mortgage more like a ’12 month same as cash’ thing…. Bite the bullet go ONE year without a first…. Hell they didn’t have a two this year because they did a ‘6 months same as cash’financing for mr sideways…. It’s nothing

Mortgaged the future? Really THE FUTURE? The entire FUTURE…. . . . Really? The FUTURE? Giving up a 2nd for Bradford was every bit the mortgaging the future….
So they paid him $22 million and that’s a set up? Would somebody please set me the fuck up!! m PLEASE!,, set me up! Give me $22, an opportunity to prove I’m worth it so that I can sign for another $30-60 I guarantees…..god damn set my sorry ass up! Bradford should be happy…. Play well, play Alex smith well even and sign for $45 more million guarantee …. Damn….set my ass up!

Bradford is, was, and always will be as I have said many , many times to you folks ,has just gathered up his savvy, hired a top rated Agent , whether you like Condon or not,And has become a very astute business man,Forget talent, forget winning super bowls,Bradford is brilliant as a $$$$ money man. You can not hurt him with mere words or schoolboy phrases. He has more$$$$ than all of us on this site combined, He possess the arm strength of another Ex Eagle q.b. who made chicken sh- money in his day. No one cept me remembers// Pete Liske,a bum of a Q.B. who could not throw a pass more than 35 or 40 yards with the wind at his back, Sometimes in life, what you see is all you get.And is all you will ever get , with and from MR. B.In some circles it is called accepting what is , what was, and what always will be ,In your mind, forget your slow ,moving dreams, and move on from your great, white hopes of the likes of Mr B, Sadly, It will bring you nothing in return.

Good one Patrik411,
I remember that bum Pete Liske, didn’t Mike Boryla beat him out for the Starter QB.. Damn those early 70’s were some bad Teams, Coach’s & Front Offices
Not until Dick Vermeil was Hired from the UCLA Bruins with GM Carl Peterson did the Eagles resemble a true NFL Franchise… From the Late 60’s to about ’74-’75 was some terrible Football ..

Carl Peterson was the GM of the Philadelphia Stars not the Eagles. I think he may have been a on Vermiel’s coaching staff before getting a lucky break when the USFL started. USFL hired young nobodies and Pederson took full advantage of that opportunity.

Carl Peterson worked with the Eagles from 76-82 and was Dick Vermeils right hand man in Terms of being the Top Talent Evaluator & oversaw Player Personnel though he was not the Eagles “GM” .. Peterson then became the President of Football Operation og the Philadelphia Stars of the old USFL and then went onto Kansas City and eventually Hired Vermeil there .. Carl Peterson is from California and a UCLA Alumni and a lifelong friend & collaborator with Dick Vermeil and to this day is active Business Partner with Vermeil in his growing Vineyard Business out in California..
I believe he was doing some Consulting Work for the Dolphins recently but not sure how active he is with that… A good Guy, great Football Executive who has build winners the right way everywhere he’s been ..

You are exactly right, Paul. those Eagle teams of the early 70,s were a sad, sad, sight to behold.and you are right Vermeil brought pride, and many other positives to a team/ franchise that ,, if a running back gained 2 yards on a carry well ,me and the old man though we died and went to heaven.Bless his drunken wildman soul.!

To put the ‘mortgage’ the future further to rest. The Eagles traded for a $14 million QB on the last year of his contract… What did they give up? Nick foles? Hmmm I will acknowledge he didn’t pan out, but he has started like 50 games … Won a lot of them… So he is a third rounder plus a second rounder.
For wentz a first and second and a fifth … Ok

the outside WR stats were horrible last year.
The problem is either Bradford is too scared to throw outside, Agholor is horrible or both. I’m curious to see if Wentz will complete passes on Huff’s and Agholor’s routes outside.

paulman
paulman
May 20, 2016 8:46 pm

I Don’t think the Eagles WR’s are strong or explosive enough off the line of scrimmage outside of Matthews… Both Agholor/Huff don’t have it , now maybe putting them I motion more often will help with a moving start but from a stand still position, Agholor/Huff get abused by physical CB
New WR’s Randle and Givens are bigger but still do not play to their size or aggressive enough .. Givens has nice Speed once he gets going but can be knocked off his routes rather easily which has been his problem since being in the NFL .. Randle has potential but need to become more consistent with his practice time, game performance and catching the ball.. He has all the physical skills to be a 60 Reception & 850 Yard Receiver with 6-8 TD’s if he puts the work in.. He’s on a 1 Year Deal and has a lot to play for if he really puts together a strong 2016 Season..
The you get to QB Sam Bradford who has not shown over his Career to hang in the pocket and go do the field outside the numbers very often… He will take the 5-8 Yard Pass over the longer developing 14-20 Yard Route..
Bradford do work with the TE’s in between the numbers pretty well and will need to take advantage of the Matchups C’s Ertz more often ..
Eagles Passing Game is going to be a work in progress, expect a lot to the TE’s & RB’s as both OC Reich like that short, safe, quick plays out of the QB hands quickly .. Then take a few shots off of Play-Action once they are able to arum the Ball effectively which they were not able to do at all last Season and need to get fixed this Summer ..

Carson Wentz already impressing Eagles’ teammates

PHILADELPHIA — You only get one first impression in life — and it seems like Eagles rookie Carson Wentz is making the most of his.

Wentz has only been in Philadelphia for a little under two weeks, and has been with his veterans even less time than that, but after just a few practices, the quarterback is already impressing his new teammates.

“He’s awesome,” receiver Josh Huff said. “Strong arm, mobile, throws an accurate ball.”

Wentz has had just a handful of practices with the veterans, and although only one was open to the media, it is easy to see why he has made a good first impression.

The rookie from North Dakota State looked very comfortable out on the field with his teammates, and it was clear watching him move and throw the ball why the Eagles traded up to the No. 2 pick to get him.

Although the pads weren’t on, and the team mostly did seven-on-seven drills, Wentz looked very sharp during the practice open to the media, and moved well around on the pocket.

On one play the rookie broke the pocket to his right, getting to the sideline before rocketing a pass about 15 yards down the field for a completion.

“He is definitely a gunslinger,” tight end Zach Ertz said. “He has a live arm, he throws a good spiral, it’s easy to catch.”

Catching is something the Eagles’ receivers struggled with last season. While they certainly hold plenty of blame for the drops, you have to wonder how much of the blame also falls on veteran quarterback Sam Bradford.

Bradford has had issues with his receivers dropping passes throughout his career, from his time in St. Louis to his one season with the Eagles. The fact that multiple teammates of Bradford have pointed out how catchable Wentz’s passes are is certainly interesting.

Even during the open practice last week, a few of his passes were dropped by his receivers. On one drill, with Bradford and Wentz standing next to each other, Wentz’s pass was caught while Bradford’s was dropped.

Another potential difference between Bradford and Wentz?

“He is aggressive,” receiver Reuben Randle said of Wentz. “I heard about it from the rookie camp, that he was taking his shots. He took a shot (during practice) that we weren’t expecting. He gives us a shot to make a play. You have to love that from a quarterback. He trusts his playmakers outside to make a play for him, and I like that about him.”

Taking shots down the field was something Bradford didn’t do much of last season, and he completed even less. Only 60 of his 346 completions went for 10 yards or more, one of the worst rates in the NFL among starting quarterbacks.

Whether Wentz will continue to take shots down the field when he actually steps into an NFL game remains to be seen. When he will even play also remains a mystery.

One message, however, is clear from his teammates.

“When (Wentz’s) time comes,” Ertz said, “it’s going to be an unbelievable time for us.”
