Notes From The Phillies’ 14-1 Loss To Atlanta

The Philadelphia Phillies had their four-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night, falling to the braves 14-1. Their record drops to 21-36.

On The Mound

  • Jerad Eickhoff got the start and lasted five innings, allowing four runs on four hits.
  • Eickhoff’s record drops to 0-7.
  • Adam Morgan came on in relief and was lit up for four runs over 1.1 innings of work.
  • Joely Rodriguez got two outs and gave up a hit and two walks. He was designated for assignment after the game.
  • Luis Garcia got hit around for five runs while recording just two outs.
  • Andres Blanco was called upon to get the final out in the eighth, and gave up a run.

At The Plate

  • The offense managed just one run on seven hits.
  • Odubel Herrera stayed hot, going 2-3 with a walk and two more doubles.
  • Cesar Hernandez went 1-4 with a single.
  • Howie Kendrick went 0-4.
  • Tommy Joseph went 1-3 with a single.
  • Daniel Nava singled home the team’s only run.
  • Maikel Franco went 1-3 with a single and a walk.
  • Michael Saunders played right field, and went 0-4.
  • Andrew Knapp caught the game and went 0-4.
  • Freddy Galvis went 1-3 with a single.

Final Thoughts

Well, this was bound to happen sooner or later.

The Phillies cooled off dramatically, with old pitching and hitting issues returning in the blowout loss.

Jerad Eickhoff just seems to be completely snake-bitten this year. He hasn’t gotten any kind of run support all year long, and I believe that combined with his winless pitching record has impacted him mentally and caused him to have the poor season he’s gone through. on Facebook
