At The Plate

  • Odubel Herrera went 0-5 at the top of the order, striking out three times.
  • Freddy Galvis went 2-5 with a couple of singles.
  • Aaron Altherr went 2-4 with a double and a walk.
  • Nick Williams went 1-3 with a single and a walk in his second start.

  • Cameron Rupp went 1-4 with a single.

Final Thoughts

Jeremy Hellickson didn’t hurt his trade value with his start today, but he probably didn’t help it either. It was a fairly mediocre start for the righthander.

Pat Neshek, however, may dealt a blow to what value he has by imploding in the seventh inning. It’s somewhat fitting that as the calendar turns to July, the month of the trade deadline, that Neshek would begin to take a step back. Certainly, it was bound to happen at some point, but the Phils have to hope that this doesn’t send him in to a funk, and take away whatever chance they had to get something back for him.
