  • Joaquin Benoit pitched a scoreless eighth.
  • Hector Neris got some work in with a scoreless ninth.

At The Plate

  • The offense put up seven runs on 12 hits.
  • Daniel Nava started in left, going 3-5 with a two-run single.
  • Freddy Galvis went 1-5 with a single out of the two-hole.
  • Aaron Altherr went 0-5, dropping his average to .277.
  • Tommy Joseph went 2-5 with a couple of singles.
  • Nick Williams went 2-5, singling twice.
  • Maikel Franco went 1-3 with a double, a walk, and drove in two runs.
  • Ty Kelly went 0-2 with a walk.
  • Andrew Knapp went 2-4 with a single.

Final Thoughts

Nick Pivetta has been on a pretty good roll lately. Pivetta had a rough start his last time around, but the previous two before that were strong.

The young pitcher shook off the bad outing and got right back on track with his strong showing today. Its encouraging to see someone step up a bit and show signs of development and progress on this terrible team. on Facebook
