On The Mound

  • Nola struck out nine, and gave up both of his runs in the seventh inning.
  • Luis Garcia pitched a scoreless ninth.

At The Plate

  • The offense managed one lousy run on four hits.
  • Maikel Franco drove in the only run with a solo homer, he finished the game 1-4.
  • Tommy Joseph went 2-3 with a double and a walk.
  • Daniel Nava had the team’s only other hit, finishing 1-4 with a single.
  • Freddy Galvis went 0-4.
  • Nick Williams returned to the starting lineup, and went 0-3 with a walk.
  • Andrew Knapp went 0-3.
  • Odubel Herrera went 0-2.
  • Andres Blanco started again at second, going 0-3.

Final Thoughts

A strong outing from Aaron Nola went to waste, as the Phils’ offense failed them again.

Nola rediscovering himself has been far and away the best thing that’s happened to this team this season.
