Notes From The Phillies’ 4-3 Loss To Colorado

The Philadelphia Phillies lost their fourth straight game on Friday night, falling to the Rockies 4-3. Their record drops to 39-68.

On The Mound

  • Vince Velasquez turned in a decent outing, allowing two runs on three hits over five innings.
  • Velasquez once again struggled to keep his pitch count down, allowing six walks.
  • Ricardo Pinto gave up a run in 1.1 innings of work.
  • Hoby Milner picked up the last two outs of the seventh.
  • Luis Garcia took another loss, giving up a run on a hit and two walks in the eighth.

At The Plate

  • The offense managed three runs on 10 hits.
  • Nick Williams picked up three hits, including a double and drove in a run.
  • Cesar Hernandez went 2-5 with a double.
  • Aaron Altherr went 2-3 with an RBI, but left after reinjuring his hamstring.
  • Freddy Galvis went 0-5.
  • Tommy Joseph went 0-4.
  • Maikel Franco went 2-3 with an RBI-triple.
  • Odubel Herrera went 1-4 with a single.
  • Cameron Rupp went 0-3 with a walk.

Final Thoughts

As the Phillies plummet into another losing streak, Nick Williams continues to shine as the team’s silver lining.

Williams is currently hitting .311 with five homers and 22 RBI’s in 28 games since arriving to the big leagues. He’s been very consistent and productive, and he’s given the lineup a presence it hadn’t previously had. on Facebook
