Notes From The Phillies’ 10-2 Loss To San Francisco

The Philadelphia Phillies lost their sixth straight game on Friday night, falling to the Giants 10-2. Their record drops to 43-77.

On The Mound

  • Zach Eflin turned in a terrible start, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks over just five innings.
  • Eflin put the Phils in an instant 3-0 hole in the first inning, and allowed three more over the next two frames.
  • Luis Garcia pitched a scoreless sixth.
  • Jesen Therrien got the team through the seventh.
  • Hector Neris came on to get some work in during the eighth, and was lit up for four runs on four hits and a walk.

At The Plate

  • The offense managed two runs on just four hits.
  • Freddy Galvis went 1-4, singling in both of the team’s runs.
  • Cesar Hernandez went 1-4 with a single.
  • Nick Williams went 0-4.
  • Rhys Hoskins went 0-2 with two walks.
  • Maikel Franco went 0-3 with a walk.
  • Tommy Joseph went 0-4.
  • Jorge Alfaro caught the game, and went 2-4 with a couple of singles.
  • Cameron Perkins went 0-3.

Final Thoughts

Tommy Joseph has been absolutely brutal as of late.

Joseph has hit a pathetic .119 in the month of August. He’s got just seven hits in his last 59 at-bats, with just four RBI’s. He hasn’t homered since July 28th, and has just one homer since July 9th.
