  • Luis Garcia came on to finish the eighth.
  • Ricardo Pinto gave up two runs in the ninth.

At The Plate

  • The offense put up two runs on six hits.

  • Andres Blanco picked up a sac fly RBI in the ninth.
  • Cesar Hernandez went 0-3 with two walks.
  • Freddy Galvis played centerfield, and went 0-4.
  • Nick Williams went 0-3 with a walk.
  • Rhys Hoskins went 1-4 with a single, extending his hitting streak to 12 games.
  • Maikel Franco went 1-3 with a double.
  • Cameron Rupp went 0-4.
  • Hyunn Soo Kim started in the outfield, and went 2-4 with a double and a triple.

Final Thoughts

And so, the Phillies will officially finish with a record below .500 this year.

Shocking, I know.

Mark Leiter has quietly done well as a starter for this team. He may have done enough to get himself a longer look at the role next spring.
