At The Plate

  • Freddy Galvis went 3-5 with three singles and walk.
  • Odubel Herrera was back in the lineup, and went 1-5 with a single and drove in a run.
  • Rhys Hoskins went 2-3 with a double and also worked two walks.
  • Nick Williams drove in three runs, going 2-5 with a double.
  • Hyunn Soo Kim started in left, going 2-5 with a pair of singles.
  • J.P. Crawford made his major league debut, going 1-5 with a single.
  • Jorge Alfaro went 3-5 with three singles. He’s batting .362.
  • Ben Lively drove in four runs, going 2-4 with a home run.

Final Thoughts

J.P. Crawford took over third base for the miserable Maikel Franco, who has endured a horribly disappointing season. Its unclear if Crawford is going to take over everyday, or if Franco will split time with Crawford for the rest of the season.

It’s clear though by moving Crawford to third, the team no longer views Franco as a building block.
