Video: Carson Wentz and Jay Ajayi Talk After First Game

PHILADELPHIA, PA – NOVEMBER 05: Running back Jay Ajayi #36 of the Philadelphia Eagles runs the ball 46 yards for a touchdown against the Denver Broncos during the second quarter at Lincoln Financial Field on November 5, 2017 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

We got our first chance to see Carson Wentz and Jay Ajayi play together.  Things seemed to go well, especially after Ajayi took off on a long touchdown run for the Eagles.  Wentz was sharp as usual with a four-touchdown performance.

The Birds took advantage of Ajayi’s presence in the game by faking the ball to him and throwing the football.  They knew Denver would anticipate Ajayi’s getting the football each time he came into the game because they knew he had only been an Eagle for four or five days.

  1. anyone know the NFL rules on goal line?
Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts seem to think that the football has to cross inside the orange pylons. When Ajayi leaped for a TD against Denver he & the football were outside the piling and the TD was reviewed and confirmed. Does the football have to just break the plane of the goal line regardless whether it is inside or outside of the orange pylon?

    1. The way I understand it the goal line goes on to infinity…. I don’t believe the ball has to be inside the pylon…. I could be wrong but I think they were wrong because by their description it should have been over turned

  2. Espn’s Field Yates has 2 eagles as his mid season all pro team. Carson Wentz at QB who he has as league MVP and Lane Johnson at RT as mid season All pros. I thought Fletcher Cox might be worthy but he had Calais Campbell and Aaron Donald as his mid season all pro DTs. They both deserve it. Malcolm Jenkins might be deserving also, Field Yates had Harrison Smith and Earl Thomas.
