Kyle Phillippi

Ever since Kyle was old enough to read Sports Illustrated for Kids, he has set his sights on a future in sports journalism. Kyle has worked with a few popular sports sites, including Fox’s Scout.com as the Big Ten Correspondent for the University of Nebraska. At Scout, Kyle partakes in the Big Ten Coaches Teleconference call, writes weekly Big Ten pieces and contacts potential Nebraska recruits.

Kyle is a journalism major at Rowan University and takes part in various activities, including writing for the campus paper, The Whit.

Kyle has enjoyed his young writing career so far — a career highlighted by his debut article in the Philadelphia Inquirer — and has appreciated all the contacts he has made. He has enjoyed speaking with athletes across the Philadelphia area, such as Eagles’ wide receiver Jason Avant, former Syracuse star and NBA big man Hakeem Warrick and numerous college football coaches, including the late Joe Paterno.

After learning that his great-grandfather was Pirates’ pitcher Deacon Phillippe, who pitched in the very first World Series against Cy Young, Kyle focused his writings more on baseball and has taken pleasure in covering the Philadelphia Phillies at GCOBB.com for the greatest fans in all of sports.

When not covering sports, Kyle spends time freelancing for Patch.com (Collingswood). He covers planning board meeting and local town festivals.

At Audubon High School, Kyle spent time in baseball, soccer and track, being selected to the All-Colonial Conference for his play in net during his senior season in soccer.
